Sort of an instrumental cross between early Collins-era Genesis and Dream Theater. Not the most original music I've ever heard, but very well crafted. They get a whole lot of mileage out of moving chords by thirds.
I know you guys from guitar hero, and i swear your song in the game was the best to play. You have a sound that is unique and i think you're all awesome musician. Keep that unique thing you got and i'm sure you'll be the next big thing.

I love instrumentals so much especially from AES, the only thing you guys are missing is a vocalist and you would be the best band out hands down!!! I wonder what type of vocalist would fit best with you guys..wish I could sing or at least harmonize I need an exit right about now with all the bs that's on my mind lol! @Rotennn Good point, I love instrumentals quite a bit but a band with a superb vocalist is key to most bands success. Now, granted AES is probably just doing this in their spare time, but I believe truly they could be something special if they had a vocalist to match their superb playing skill. Take Daft Punk for instant, they usually have featured vocalists and it turns absolutely amazing. Their new album was pretty amazing, but my favorite song on the CD is not Get Lucky or Lose Yourself to Dance, but in fact it is Motherboard, and it of course is an instrumental lol! In short, I really just want AES to be the best and everyone to know they are, especially Gentile on the drums (sorry Zach you're awesome as well).
Its a dark time when you have to compromise your musical integrity (if theres such a thing) to make it out in the business, after all thats what the "industry" has done: turned a creative endeavor such as music into product-making, trend following, and a game of self marketing.
This band just wouldn't jive with a vocalist imo. It'd have to be a Jon Anderson-esque guy, someone whose lyrics paint a picture and whose vocal lines don't make up the melody often. Who knows how to play a complementary piece. But that said, I just dont' think this band needs a vocalist. And if they did get one, it wouldn't make them popular. This is too complex and sophisticated for it to ever become truly popular.
