I feel so bad when a older dog gets disowned by its family. It must be so confusing for the poor thing. Thank god for people like you Lee ❤

I liked when she was playing with the Bulldog (yes, I forgot his name) and the red ball. So adorable. But, unless I missed it, the little dogs didn't bark at her. In fact 😂 I didn't hear anyone bark at her. Thanking God for you, Lee. Where would these dogs be without you, especially with your genuine love of each one.❤
I have never seen a silver Lab and she has found her best life with you and all your boys and girls ❤️
I believe that in the video I could distinctly hear that woman say. "We bred her, she's had a ton of puppies." Which to me screamed that she doesn't look at a dog as a companion to love but instead was nothing more than a commodity to her and once she wasn't EARNING that woman money with fresh batches of puppies to sell anymore...poof that poor beautiful little girl became a liability to that individual. Civilization can be hard~

My hubby and I lived in a 20 foot travel trailer with a small additional with no running water in the winter and a outhouse for 4 years so we could keep our dogs because they was no housing that was affordable in our area for pets. I would nots have done it any other way to keep my babies. Once they passed we moved into a apartment.
I was thinking the same thing. I am planning a move this summer with 3 cats and three dogs. The logistics are going to be a pain in my ass, but leaving even one behind is not even an option. Remy has landed at the best possible place she could be.

It's been over a year now, and Asher House Spa and Resort has rejuvenated her. She acts so much younger and seems very happy.
What an incredibly sad situation. I had a co-worker do this to their 10 yr old dog. Had a second child & was just done with their dog. Didn't think anything of it. I never looked at him the same way ever again. Thank you for giving Remy the best family she could ever hope for!!! ❤
How could somebody leave their dog? I would change anything before I had to get rid of my dogs. They are my whole entire life and they aren’t just for when it’s convenient for me. They are my kids until the day they go to heaven ❤
Honestly that women had no emotion in her voice, it was horrible to see. I’ve had my dog since i was a teenager, when I left my parent’s house I took him, when i moved to a different country i took him, whenever I go on holiday I take him with me. He’s 13 years old now he’s been with me since he was a puppy and I will be by his side till the end just like he was there for me all these years. I could never do what that women did. People like that just don’t deserve the unconditional love dogs give to their owners.
And they do go to Heaven. God's Kingdom. A prophet l listen to, says every single pet a believer has ever owned will be in Heaven with us. Ask Christ into your heart to forgive your sins and be your Savior. It takes inviting Him. If you mean it in your heart then you will be saved. Calvary is profound and simple.
Absolutely! I grew to love my mini-dach more and more over the years. Though she wasn't as cute when she passed in her elder years as when she was a puppy, through the bond forged, I loved her more than ever and she always stayed adorable in my eyes.

Two true stories:
A family (with young children) in my apartment complex moved and left their dog running free in the parking lot. Don't worry, I took it in and found it a good home.
A woman turned in her dog at the Humane Society shelter where I volunteered because she had just bought new living room furniture and the dog didn't 'go with' her new decor.
Some people really suck.

Clearly this video was paused or edited. You have absolutely no idea what they felt, just because you didn't see it doesn't mean they weren't hurting over giving up their pet, or why they are moving in the first place. The important thing is that she wasn't stuck in a shelter or worse and that she's in Lee's care.

There's no way on this earth that I'd ever leave my dog behind anywhere, if I had to sleep in my car, my dog goes where I go. Thankfully she was handed over and not just left on the streets and thank God, she is so happy now.
It makes me sick that this woman would just easily hand over this beautiful dog after having her for 9 years.
She'll have a much better life now, but I can't bear the thought of any dog being sad because they've been abandoned.

It's not OK. When you get a pet, they are supposed to be yours for their whole life. If you can't make that commitment, don't get one. You don't just give up other family members when they become incovenient.
But at least she,s landed with Lee. And it,s obvious she,s basking in his love and attention. Let's hope this is a new lease of life for her.🐶♥️

I cannot begin to understand why when you've had a dog this long and you had to move cross-country that you leave them behind. That sweet dog knew this one family her whole life and now she is so much better off in this caring and loving environment ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Seriously, I'm sorry, but that heartless shrew handed that poor sweet girl over like she was an appliance she was donating. How someone could have this dog for this many years and be cold, callous and unfeeling enough to do this with such casualty, is disgusting. I'm sorry, it is. If a place i was interested in renting didnt allow pets then it wasn’t for me. To me that woman is not a good pet owner, otherwise she would see it has her family not something you can just give away cuz its not convenient

Remy seemed so sad and forlorn when she was handed over. And she's quite obese and has terrible skin problems. The former owner said she'd been bred a lot - can you imagine how many "silver Lab" pups with all their accompanying genetic/health issues are out there? It's all so sad. So I felt so sad at the beginning of this story, but of course Lee saves the day. Remy will thrive at The Asher House Heaven! 😊

Remy is indeed twice lucky: that she would up in the absolute BEST possible new home AND has the emotional resilience to recover from total abandonment by her human caretakers. Judging from the over breeding her, she also was likely to not have bonded closely with her humans. Please see my other posts for my oped on how CRITICAL it is to change currently recommended protocol for rehoming, followed by even the best shelters, Humane Society among them, to prevent debilitating PTSD in dogs who have Velcro bonds with their humans who have to re-home them.

I cannot understand how people can give up a dog they have had all her life. I'm sure there are some circumstances where they might not have a choice, but a senior dog has got to be harder. I could never give up my animals, they bring me so much joy! When I was younger I slept in my car with four dogs for a few days until I got a place to take us. They were my babies. Thank you Lee for taking her in! 😊😊🐶🐶🇺🇸 KY

I hope that lady has a really good reason why she would abandon a dog. It's so infuriating and sad when people do this! I'm not saying they have to do expensive procedures once the dog gets really old or sick and doesn't have quality of life, but let the dog live out its years in peace and love on them until it is their time!

Rey's eyes looks rather detached and a little disinterested, until you gently and consistently gave her love and attention. And the fact that by Day 2 she was already looking so alert and comfortable in the pack and in the surrounding landscape--well, it's just a testimony to what you always talk about Lee: that dogs need healthy food and rest, and lots of good outdoor stimulation! And wow--is Remy blossoming. What a lovely gift to spend her senior years in the Asher House Pack.
A sad day for Remy turned into an amazing day, she definitely looks happy ❤
A man who would give up his own dog couldn't have been much fun for Remy to live with. She's so much better off living with the pack.

The way she looks at you tells me she is much happier with you than her previous family. She is a blessed and beautiful dog. And look at the room these dogs have and their own pond! What a great life!
I watch these videos and have no clue how anyone can give up a dog they have had for 9 years. Just hand them over to another person. It’s unfathomable to me. I mean I know it happens all the time (look at all the shelters) and I appreciate people have their stories but I’d honestly end up on the street before I surrender my dogs. Dogs are for life. Still this sanctuary makes me glad as her life will be better than ever. Thanks Lee as always for all that you do. ❤🙏🏼

That’s how I ended up with one of my strays. His “owner” moved and left him outside in 26 degree weather. He was just a puppy. People really make me sick sometimes. 😢

I hope there will be people that watch this just realize see that their dogs always need stimulation there was no life in Remy's eyes when Lee went to rescue her none she was also very unhealthy overweight her skin the difference Lee and the sanctuary has made for her is the difference between life and death she has a glow in her eyes a skip in her step she looks like a puppy again healthy weight skin loving her the way she should be loved I'm so happy she got to you❤

Like others who have commented, I just don’t understand how anyone can give up a pup especially when they’ve had them so long. My heart is broken for the pup……..but then I see them at the Asher House and my heart heals right away because they are so so happy. Probably happier than they were at their not forever home! Thanks for educating us about silver labs. As far as Remy not being taken along with her family when they moved, our Phoebes, a chonky cat, was left behind, too. However, the family didn't reach out to anyone who could give her a home. Well, she came to us right away when she was hungry and knew that she would be fed, warm, safe and loved. So very glad that Remy has you and the pack. 🐾

Been in the rescue community for a long time & what they've been doing lately is taking their old dogs to a shelter & going home with a new puppy. Let's hope that Remy's family does not do the same

To have to leave your dog after such a long time probably has more of a backstory than we know. No doubt some sadness or tragedy. In a real twist of fate, Remi gets to go to Lee's Dog Disneyland complete with trails, waterpark, activities for young & old, big & small. Plus all the love to boot. The smile on Remy's face said it all. She's going to have great 'golden years' ♡

I always look for Mildred because of how emaciated she was when you got her. Every time I see her she looks better. Your dogs are amazing and they do have the best life ever. No mater how long or short their time is with the pack, they know they are loved.
I always look for her too. I have rescued dogs that were eating sticks because they were so starved that looked so much better than that. She is very special to me.

I was so so sad for her but then she seemed to gain energy and started acting like she'd been at the sanctuary with Lee her whole life. She was a bit tubby and even lost weight. Just wow. Lee has the magic touch.

It's never easy letting go of a pet.. especially a beloved one... The owner did the best they could...even dressing Remy up for the occasion. It's like Remy could already tell they were parting .. From her conversation, it was clear she had taken good care of Remy and found her a worthy home with Lee... She did good by Remy.
She looked so very sad. I noticed Lee said very little about what was going on -- assuming he just wants to focus on moving forward. So great that she adapted so quickly

@@Still_K That's what I thought too. Actually a little disheartening to see so many others in the comments jump to the conclusion that she was a bad owner.
@@carolyngrant745 it's no jump. She stated she bred her for many years. As Lee mentions in this video, breeding silver labs is basically only for money as no true animal lover would ever breed them knowing the outcome.
I will never understand how anyone can leave their pet behind but I don't know the situation. Remy is having her best life with you Lee, she is in a better place. For her to be so happy in such a short time makes me think she didn't get a lot of attention before. Thank you Lee for all you do for all the animals in your care, they are all loved so much. ❤❤❤❤
I adopted my senior Labrador Retriever dog Goldie when she was 13 1/2 from the Humane Society. Beautiful, fun and friendly Goldie lived to 15 years old (she died last Easter). I don't know why she was surrendered but I assume it was either due to Covid and her family couldn't afford to keep her or because of her health issues. Please don't underestimate the love and value a senior dog can provide to you and your family. Dogs are so appreciative of being given another opportunity to be loved and enjoy their golden years. Love is measured in precious moments, not years.
I totally can't wrap my head around ppl that just leave an animal behind. I had a neighbor that did that to a cat. It lived in the wild in the woods behind my house until I noticed it, tamed it and took it in. One of the most loving, grateful animals I EVER had. RIP Scooter....
For Remy to feel okay and then really great after being separated from her original owners, at 10, is just fantastic! I love when you show the progress from rescue/ adoption day til the first few days or weeks, all in one vid!
What a sweet baby! I will never understand it how a beautiful dog being in a family just no longer wanted. Thank you Lee for being such a wonderful, kind Dad to these scared, confused fur babies.
