Wow Pete. This is the info that people could not imagine ever gathering from 100 videos and you put it all in 1 video. You are something special to this community. Every other community could only dream of having someone like you, who is so open about everything, and is so willing to help everyone. You are a real gem to the reselling people. Never ever stop doing what you are doing, you are really special. You give me so much inspiration to one day give this a shot. Thanks again Pete!!

Hi Pete, great video. It's very difficult to get this kind of information, so I think it's great that you're willing to share your experience and knowledge. I enjoy buying and selling a lot, and some day I would like to open a buy sell trade shop similar to yours. Saving up enough money to get started is the big challenge. I'm in Canada, and some things might be a bit different here, but I think the basics are the same. Keep up the good work!

Great for you Pete! I guess I'm the opposite, I do not want a store, I love selling online but would love to have my own shop again. I used to work out of a few warehouses then life kinda changed for me. Started in a one car garage house, added an outdoor building, moved to a 2000 sq ft shop, then to a 7500 sq ft shop, then to a 4000 sq ft shop, to a 6000 sq ft shop. Crash! Life happens and I'm back to working out of a 3 car garage house. Building back up to that shop again, it takes time though! Congrats on the new shop!

From a security standpoint... do people have to be buzzed in?do you think that it would make sense to move the desk to the front of your store, so if people bring stuff in its not through the store? also from a shoplifting security perspective?

Thank you for your video. With all due respect you ought to try and find creative ways to lower your overhead costs and aquire all your aquire everything via clean outs because compared to others in the same business you could be making a much higher profit margin than you currently are. I've learned to keep prices very low and you will profit higher in the long run

GREAT and INFORMATIVE video as par, Pete! Fifty cents a square foot, for the big place in Crystal Lake? And even the Chicago space is less than most commercial space in the US... I think you would be wise to open another similar store (smaller commuter and retiree community, approx. 30- sixty minutes from Chicago?) to source and offer more, on the cheaper, vs. trying to 'make it big' before say 2020? Thanks for your OPENNESS about salaries and overhead costs. Much appreciated! A friend and I set- up a 'pilot' (inside of his other main business/ location) precious metals buying business in Jan. of 2012, and we should have done what you are doing, as the PM supply was already drying- up by 2012!

Pete - Great candid video!! Super advice!... quick question... Besides for the $50k salary each that you and your Partner Adrian draw as a salary, what is your on-average partnership draw at the end of the year? Also are you organized as a corp, LLP?Also you didn't mention vehicles... trucks/trailers.I am assuming that your pickup truck is basically also a business expense, because you use it all the time to haul stuff, plus I also noticed that you have a heafty trailer hooked up to it from time to time (whn you hauled those large showcases). Also, same question is below,,, what about uyng and selling silver and Gold... I would think that you could also latch on to the "We buy Gold and Silver" phenom, and have a wonderful side business as a "coin shop"... Chicago is a wonderful Numismayic city with the ANA having been there for the last several years for their annual convention, plus there are many other paper money and coin conventions held in Chicago/Rosemont throughout the year... Its a big City for Numismatic commerce mainly because there is no Sales Tax in Illinois on sales of Numismatics and Bullion. Something that is not in every state.Shop LOOKS GREAT!!! Best of Luck on the GRAND OPENING!!! Hope its a huge success... You deserve it... You outta give classes in Entrepreneurship in the University of Chicago!! Or at least in a Community College there!Best!!
