You question how Inti Creates could develop something so perverted, but have you seen some of the character designs in their other games? One of the bosses in the Gunvolt series has a goddamn _crotch spike_ .
Having never seen much of these games the fact the first one is (very slightly) less disturbing then the others maybe explains why on my country Returns is rated 12+ while the others that released earlier are all rated 16+, which I always thought was an oversight or something since it's obviously too low but I guess they just looked and said "yeah it's bad but not THAT bad compared with the others which we became numb from looking at so we'll give this one a pass".
This was my exact train of thought through the intro of this game while I was working. Seeing the thumbnail: Gal Gun? What's that? Wait isn't that that chick from Mighty Gunvolt? I have been curious about that character since I played it. Mentions inti creates and their repetoire: Oh yeah I love their games. Mentions Gal Gun is a Japan exclusive: OH is it? Odd, I wonder why. Mentions it's a rail shooter: ... wait a second why does this now seem familiar- The first two seconds of gameplay is shown: **insert SGB Elliots many panicked screams as I rush to put my phone screen down before my coworkers can see**
Also glad you're enjoying Sakura Wars, i see that PS4 play history lol. Looking forward to a video if that's in the works, one of my favorite games and series after playing it. Such a happy time
I guess I can definitely say I never thought I'd be worried about being put on a watch list for watching a video game review until today. Holy shit, I can't comprehend that this is made by the same guys who did Megaman Zero.
How long until this video gets demonetized??? Thanks for covering this series, Clement! I've always been curious about this series because of how much I enjoy Gunvolt, but if I got it my girlfriend would kill me hahahahaha
I'd never thought I'd see you tackle such a oddity of a series. As a person that jumped into the series starting with 2 and working my way backwards till I reached the first/Returns, I just find these games just dumb fun. I went into 2 with uncomfortably, braved into Double Peace prepared with the madness, and then trudged onto Returns with a sense of just being desensitized to it all. Haven't played VR yet though because I don't have the money for VR stuff. Though, massive respects to you having to platinum all of the games, because I don't have the strength to do that yet. I just usually have my fill with getting all endings, and that's it, even if that's still a pretty big handful. I can kinda just turn my brain off, listen to the bubbly, but still pretty good music, watch the, all things considered, pretty wacky stories, and shoot away to some basic, yet still sort of satisfying on rails shooting while scream internally during certain minigames. I guess I was a bit surprised that you didn't mentioned the Godlike Rank in Double Peace, because I always thought that was a challenge to get. Though that might just be me being dumb because I actually never use the doki-doki feature during nearly all of my times during the series unless I was forced to in story beats and stuff, and it was mostly because I just plainly forgot it exists, like you said with the charge shot that you have in Double Peace. Part of the reason why I enjoy the series is weirdly enough, the continuity and world building of the entire series. Or maybe sometimes the lack of continuity. Like with Aoi returning in Double Peace, but two other main girls in the first game are practically nowhere to be seen past the first game, other than Kaoruko since she's graduated and statues was built in her honor around the school. What happened to Kaname and Akira? We literally don't know. Maybe they just moved to a different school or something, but that would be a boring reason. Or how apparently a pair of twins in 2 are apparently from parallel world, who can bend ice and fire respectively. Like... What?? Are we just gonna skim through those descriptions they give? Some can say that maybe they're just lying but... With all the crazy stuff happening in the series, coming from a parallel world doesn't seem far fetched. I digress... It's all just silly fluff at the end of the day, but it's fluff that writers and translators have to come up with and they're having some fun with it, and I can appreciate that. And that's not even covering stuff like this series' ties to Gunvolt, because that's another whole can of worms I don't want to clutter up this comment with. All things considered... I can at least say that Double Peace is probably the best one of the series. I just think it's just more complete, and it has a better pace than 2, and yeah, those defending missions also kinda broke me. And... At least Grim Guardians looks promising!
Oh this, the one thing I remember from this franchise is the $90 dlc in double peace that "Adds 'Pheromone Z' item to the Academy Store. Upon purchase, the sight zoom can see through clothes instantly". Yep, senran kagura has its gross moments too, but at least the main gameplay is actually fun and challenging (in the main series games, burst and versus), you can probably skip the spin offs though.
@@cadethumann8605 it's actually a jab at people who would buy that DLC since it's literally a paid version of that one item Clement mentions you can buy with the in-game points. No I'm not kidding.

Oh man, this game series defiantly makes the Persona series feel more decent when it comes to the romantic relationships you can get yourself into. At least in that series, even in the male route of Persona 3 where you have no romantic options at all, it feels like you're playing as someone who respects women or men and truly cares for whoever you choose to be in a romantic relationship with, even the ones who aren't, um, well, the right age for the protagonist. Also, 16:36 just when you thought that Yusuke's obsession with nude art was weird. Also, I'm sure you remember the question the game Catherine asks you about if you consider yourself a pervert and the poll result from people who answered that question is like 90% of men actually admitting that they're a pervert while for women, it's like 60% of them admitting that they're a pervert. It's crazy at how many people are into this stuff.
Actually, Gal*Gun 2 isn't banned in Germany! The game was initially refused to be sold within Germany and I think Pqube might've fought hard to get the game released in Germany, and after around a year later, the game was able to release in Germany with an 18+ rating. Interestingly enough, the game before it, Double Peace, was able to get released without any problems in Germany under a 16+ rating. So, that whole situation was very confusing and personally pretty worrying for what games can be released in Germany. But in short, nah, people in Germany can enjoy the full Gal*Gun series as is, if they so desire. Also, I find it amazing that Inti Creates put their foot down by not releasing it on Xbox when Microsoft demanded them to change parts of the game for Gal*Gun 2 so it can release on Xbox, AND publicly stating all of that, that takes some courage. Good on Nintendo for allowing anything that the age rating boards allow and not forcing some kind of censorship on third-party developers for almost all cases. Personally, my favorite one in the series is Double Peace. The amount of dialog for sidequests, the somber and serious parts of the story, the goofy and perverted as heck parts (I personally enjoy both parts, I like the somber moments because that gives the girls more depth, and I like the latter part because I like the feeling of being weirded out xD), I like all of that. Though, uh, yeah, it totally is not a game for everyone, the games are pretty messed up. If you aren't fine with what Gal*Gun has, then you really shouldn't play those games. Even if you like the developer's other games. ^^ Though, to be honest, I was pretty disappointed at how lacking Gal*Gun 2 felt. I wish the main girls in that wouldn't have turned out to be angel and demon. They could've had more down-to-earth personalities for each of them, and it really felt like it was going that way, but then they pull that card for both of them, that's a bit disappointing. There's no real way to mess up and get a bad ending either. It was very easy to get a bad ending in Double Peace, so, not having those gives players less to think about, which I think sucks. After playing from Double Peace, I expected more from the series. That, and the fact that it's STILL just the same highschool and environments again, yeah, I wish they could have more settings than just those school environments, the street to school, a cave and a park... though, given the game doesn't seem to sell well at all, even in Japan, I kind of understand why they can't really make something on a bigger scale. And yeah, there is a pretty concerning amount of DLCs, but that's kind of tradition for commercial bishoujo games. I don't like it but other bishoujo series (e.g. Senran Kagura, Omega Labyrinth, etc.) do that too. Given that the genre is for mostly for a niche audience, that's probably how bishoujo games make their money back...
33:08 - Aww damn. He didn’t cover the Angel & Demon route. Long story short, Houdai completely blanks choosing between sisters so he and Ekoro split their focus between figuring out if any of the rando girls are GF material and foiling Kurona, who feels the extra pressure so bad she siccs all of the main bosses on you. Ultimately, Ekoro and Houdai decide the meta is to just catch Kurona and have her stab Houdai so the Love Arrow problem cancels out against her demonic powers. You can win over one or both girls purely by dialogue and the only lewd antics that befall them is the token Doki Doki Field after the final boss.

Mentions it's a rail shooter: ... wait a second why does this now seem familiar-
The first two seconds of gameplay is shown: **insert SGB Elliots many panicked screams as I rush to put my phone screen down before my coworkers can see**
Well, this is the last type of game I thought I would see in this channel, but I'm all for it.
I think if TH-cam has a problem, they would age restrict it at best, if Clement hasn't set it already.
it was demonitized the second it was processing the video to be uploaded
Oh this, the one thing I remember from this franchise is the $90 dlc in double peace that
"Adds 'Pheromone Z' item to the Academy Store. Upon purchase, the sight zoom can see through clothes instantly".
Yep, senran kagura has its gross moments too, but at least the main gameplay is actually fun and challenging (in the main series games, burst and versus), you can probably skip the spin offs though.
90 dollars for a nude mode?! That is pretty scummy practice in so many ways.
@@cadethumann8605 it's actually a jab at people who would buy that DLC since it's literally a paid version of that one item Clement mentions you can buy with the in-game points. No I'm not kidding.
42:42 - I was laughing along with the sheer audacity up to this point, the fact that you have to pay for that is my breaking point. Literally everything else rolled off my back.
Hey don't knock the tentacle monsters there.
That's the reason why I LOVE games like this.
Gal gun is like a monkey's paw, You get a modern rail shooter but it's gal gun
Inticreates truly created the most horrifying horror game series of all time. I can't help but look away or close my eyes.
NGL, I wanted you to talk about romancing the angel and demon in the second game. No, i have never played it, but I was paying attention to the video during the character select screen. 32:30
He has his limits because it's very clear that Clement is one of those guys who respects women and feels uncomfortable getting into stuff like this. This side of Clement actually reminds me of an LPer TH-camr I know.
Ah Gal Gun, Inti Creates' most cultured game franchise.
Man finds an excuse to play Gal Gun for educational purposes the video
"The girls never get harder" well, considering the kind of game this is... you sure about that?
Great video! I really enjoy your long form videos and I hope your next videos will become as popular as the Tekken one!
This game puts a smile on my face 😁
Man, even I noped out at the Pacifier
Even i reached a Limit i guess
@@DasKame that pacifier reminded me of a sidequest in a yakuza game
So basically the shooter version of Senran Kagura. Neat. Although Senran Kagura is stupidly fun with its gameplay and amazing music and a good story. By comparison, with Gal Gun Ive never heard much that got me interested in it beyond a passing glance.
I feel like I’m going to hell just for looking at anything Gal Gun related now, chirst-
No way, they turned the weird chick from Mighty Gunvolt Burst into a franchise!
I love this game
But please not in Public Sir!
I do think the: "House of the dead, but anime girls" genre hasn't been quite realized yet.
So this is the game series Kamoshida plays in his spare time.
Persona 5 is a fantastic game.
While listening to that one Oingo Boingo song, you know which one...the one with the word "like" and "little" in it >_>
I have heard things akin to eldritch horror and have come out unclean, send help, call a priest at once-
@@ramenbomberdeluxe4958 Can it be Enrico Pucci?
@@runningoncylinders3829 You poor sweet summer child you have no clue what song I mean.
Look it up with incognito mode, it’s right here on TH-cam, I’m referring to the band Oingo Boingo, just to be clear lol
"I've never been to Japan, but I'm pretty sure you can't bring guns to school."
Forget bringing them to school, in Japan it's illegal for civilians to even own a firearm.
great, now I want to listen to Mr. Lewis and the News
And that was all they wanted...
Seeing Clement, a youtuber whom Ive followed for years, review this game feels like sacrilege, but it *is* funny
Delivering information I didn't know I wanted lol. Keep it up! I hope the algorithm doesn't screw you.
Commenting for the algorithm, thanks for the video Clement!
I just don't understand why people don't have this level of disdain for violence in media when it's even more non-consensual.
Because they dont actually hate this the way they claim, they just see it as an opportunity to virtue signal about it.
Christian raised prudes, gotta make a stir about hot girls or else hes gonna go to hell
Because sex is a much more deep and intimate thing, and far more violating when you’re victim to related crimes.
Man I knew about this game because of GG. Had NO clue that they had hands in 2 of my favorite game franchises (mm & cv). You’re a trooper for doing this lol. Oh you should try the castlevania spin off tho. It’s actually decent.
Reminds me of a post I saw somewhere. "No you're not a "man of culture" you just have a addiction to pornography"
never thought I would say this but “Patako Lore”
7:55 Forever repulsed, and won't be desirable ever again? I didn't know this was MY origin story... minus the whole "16 arrows"-part.
Damn bro, don’t say that about yourself.
@@___________0Z0XThanks, I appreciate it, but I also haven't been proven wrong for the past 10 years, so...
If you put your best foot forward and keep trying I’m sure you’ll find someone.
It’s too soon to quit, I mean, if you’re still breathing, then you can still try right?
A little bit of self-confidence goes along way. Why not start there?
“Bloodstained is great!”…
Not on Switch. Dear god, not on Switch!
Also I'm sad you didn't even go over some of the wild special editions for these games and the "cleaning cloth" one of them comes with haha
I love the Gal Gun series; I think double piece was the best out of the 3. Yeah it is perverted, but there is fun in the stories.
2 Clement uploads in one night? Merry Christmas indeed!
Ironic since I just watched the Sonic Colors playthrough not too long ago too!
i'd think that these games are so easy because you're meant to play them with one hand...
I was introduced to this game by the legends that are The GameGrumps.
This game's plot is eerily similar to Huniepop's plot
I was thinking the same thing
What is huniepop about
I played Mighty Gunvolt so much in middle school lol I was always curious about these games
14:32 - This part with the same music in each stage was so funny to me.
31:00 - The nurse exists, she’s just one of the game’s enemies so she’s too busy trying to bone Houdai to do her job. Also, she’s a hostage for the Mr. Demon Veggie boss fight in the Angel & Demon route.
9:25 Oh, that's...That's an Umineko reference...That's a reference to one of my favorite slow burn horror mystery visual novels...In a game about...sh-shooting high school girls with...pheromones...
...I don't know how to feel about that XD
Double clement upload? Oh boy, we eatin now
Inti Creates's reputation is stained forever now. All you have to do to see it is shine a blacklight on their hand!
"Since when do high schoolers do nude modeling?"
Clement, you've played Persona 5
It’s funny how Snake and Bayonetta in smash bros is less of a gateway down an adult themed rabbit hole than Ekoro being a cameo in those games
It's crazy at how many people are into this stuff.
clement uploading at 12 am again like the classic days
Last time I was this quick, preorders for light fall just came out.
27:45 "I don't consider myself a prude" Spends the entire video complaining because the game caters to a fetish he doesn't enjoy.
Seriously, I could hear the pearls he was clutching so hard start to shatter as the vid went on
Actually, Gal*Gun 2 isn't banned in Germany!
Though, to be honest, I was pretty disappointed at how lacking Gal*Gun 2 felt.
1:37 Is this also the reason why there's been no main line Ace Attorney game coming out after all this time as well?
I'd always heard about this one in passing. And all I can say is: now I don't know why I had any thought Gunvolt wouldn't go the way that it did.
Honestly if it wasn't for the railgun portion of the game it could be every other phone game that comes out nowadays.
Just wearing headphones while your playing Gal Gun.
with all that DLC you would think this was DOA 4 or 5
Huehue I do find this shamelessness and the reactions to it funny xD I never even heard of this series before this video
I am very glad to see clement videos especially when it explains game
Hey Clement, (may I call yoh Clement?) Mr. J64 I just want to say I really love and appreciate your videos. I came from your tekken video, bht you're so entertaining I couldn't wait to see what you did next
I really appreciate how you go into games mechanics instead of brushing over them or making fun of them, like most people would just make a short video laughing at this anime schoolgirl game but you actually go into thr mechanics and tell us about it. It's so, as you like to say, fascinating. Keep it up
I find it strange that these games aren't banned on twitch
im really enjoying your new content style ive been watching on and off through the sonic retrospective since i was like 10 im 20 and im really enjoying your longer content
