Im so happy that the creator ive been watching since 2008, since i was 8 years old, is still making content today and is doing so in a very passionate way
I don't know why everyone takes so much issue with the classic 'bad ending'. If I built a Mecha-Clement and kidnapped all of his family members, I don't think he'd really want to be my friend either
Wow! I used to watch your videos all the time when I was in middle school and I have to say that you've struck the transition into video essays pretty smoothly. You bring up a lot here that I hadn't considered in a nice, concise way, while still having a bit of that older YT vibe. Very good stuff, looking forward to more!
I absolutely loved this game when I was a kid, but I sucked so much at playing it that I never even reached the Anubis Rex boss fight, let alone any of the other bosses! Thankfully, I completed the Re-Pac version recently and I was so happy to find it.
As someone who has been watching your stuff for over 10 years now, It's great not only seeing this review from you but being able to see just how far you've come in terms of production and quality. It's like a whole new level and era of Clement goodness. The effort to up things is very apparent and I am glad to have been around to observe the evolution!
So about the intro. Aside from Pooka, a lot of other Namco characters were supposed to be guest characters who were invited to Pac-Man's birthday. There are storyboards showing this, you can find them on TH-cam.
Orson the Beta: You ruined everything! It's not fair! No one loves a ghost... 🥺 Pac-man the Sigma Chad: Your grief means nothing to me. *chomp* 😎 Great vid as always, Clement!
It's been a little while since you stopped doing Let's Play videos and I have to say, this (as well as your other videos) has been the best course for your content to have taken. A proper evolution of the laid back, conversational retrospective/review styled commentary you gave during those early years of doing video games adapted from films that evolved as you moved on to the Mega Man series and the Sonic series. Condensing it into a shorter, single video has been so much easier to keep up with and offers much more variety for your content as it gives you the freedom to quickly move on from game to game, no longer having to stick to one franchise for years on end. Excellent video, it was the perfect companion piece to your original Let's Play of Pac Man World from nearly 10 years ago and really shows how much you've grown as a creator.
The pacman world remake was definitely an unexpected surprise. Though I did wish we got a remake of the second one too but hey maybe in the future. You never know.
Actually, Ms. Pac-Man did make a cameo as just a picture in the second cutscene of PMW2 and Jr. did make a cameo in the ending cutscene as one of the Pac-Villagers. But yeah, as of the 21st Century, Baby Pac-Man (and I mean the original) is now history, probably because of how little of an impact she left on even Namco themselves (outside of having a very cute design which is to be expected from a Pac-Man character).
@@kieranstark7213 unfortunately I'm not sure if the area in Pac-Village that lets you play some of the arcade games if you have enough tokens will return because of Ms. Pac-Man
Just letting you know I was one of the few who supported and enjoyed the Pac-Man World LP, plus I grew up with this series, it's always nice to see reviews on it.
This title made me just now realize the jokes that can be made featuring both Pacman and Tupac. Anyway, Ms.Pacman still Man's one true love, all these imposters are just understudies while she handles her parents battle for custody
As someone who didn’t grow with these games but still played classic Pac-Man in the Namco Museum Compilation I found this video so much fun to watch, informative and got some good laughs! Thank you our Great Clement!
Pac-Man Dialogue: 1:04 I wanna have puzzles like Tetris! 1:06 I wanna have a Kart Racing game like Mario Kart 1:08 I WANNA GO INSANE! ÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆÆGHHH
Surprised no one's mentioned it, but Easy Mode's flutter jump actually only lasts 20 seconds (compared to the standard 2) - so basically as long as you'd reasonably need it to last, but not literally forever. (I have used it until it runs out quite extensively for a challenge run I'm making a video about!) Good review, though. I think I saw the first game through nostalgia goggles and thought the remake really made some unnecessary changes in the feel of the game, but after hearing you demonstrate the QoL changes, I'm starting to reconsider.
Yep, I was waiting for this video to be made after the fact our beloved The Great Clement did a PacMan World One LP and that "Pac Man World Re-Pac" is a thing ^w^
I loved Pac-Man World as a kid. The remake's enhancements do sound really good. I'll definitely pick it up later for my PS5. Thanks for the nice, positive video 👍
I'm new to your channel and I love your brand of humor so I subscribed. I also recently fell in love with the ps1 classic and wanted the remake! Havent got it yet.
Maybe it's cause I'm getting older but now I see new changes to old school games to be a bit nicer and I'm like "oh thank God" I don't wanna deal with "you messed up, now you have to redo it all". All I lose is time and as an adult, that's my most valuable resource. Play the originals if you want, I'll take stuff that is just a li'l nicer and easier.
I will always find the original ending more memorable because its funny. Dude did literally kidnap your entire family. Don't think anyone is going to listen to some kind of sob story.
The one thing regarding Ms. Pac-Man that I should mention is that Namco and GCC were negotiating terms to hand over the rights of Ms. Pac-Man over to Namco, but suddenly AtGames of all people ended up buying the rights and Namco wasn't too happy about that. There was also some things about false advertising regarding when AtGames released some Namco mini consoles with the games being the NES ports despite being advertised as the arcade originals. Needless to say, rather than work with AtGames, Namco just said "fuck that" which is why we have Pac-Mom and her kids.
I found HMS Windbag to be fun in both versions of the game. I hated Anubis Rex and King Galaxian in the orignal because Anubis Rex throws a lot of crap at you as you hurt him more and King Galaxian you had to tap the buttons many times to shoot and if you died at any part of the fight, you had to either start all the way back from the beginning of the fight or if you got the checkpoint all the way from the beginning of King Galaxian’s fight. Say what you will about Anubis Rex in the original but at least it saved your progress each time you hurt him unlike King Galaxianwhere you only recover 1 health each time you hurt him and his attacks as well as his minions attacks can cover the screen so if you are on the wrong areas of the screen, you can lose 1, 2, 3, or even all 4 health and have to start over again. At least they fixed Anubis Rex and King Galaxian in the remake to be more fair then they were in the original. I also like how if you don’t save everyone, then after you defeat Toc-Man, the ghosts set the rest of Pac-Man’s family free, I guess that they are not such bad guys after all. But if you do then Pac-Man doesn’t hold anything against Orson. Also Orson aside from trying to kill Pac-Man, I do feel like this would make a better premise for him to repent and be a friend to Pac-Man in the third game if Pac-Man forgives him. Lastly I find it strange that Pac-Man’s family is called Pac-Mom Pac-boy, and Pac-Sis. Like that just sounds wrong and incestous to me. Why couldn’t they call them Pac-Wife, Pac-Son and Pac-Daughter instead? Like in the game they even call Pac-Man darling, father, and daddy respectively.
I really enjoyed the remake and 100% it for the first time last month, a special shout out to Re-Pac's new end credits song that is an absolute banger called "We are PAC-MAN!" Performed by Kaho Kidoguchi, which was also previously commissioned and used for an official music video for the franchise’s 42nd birthday.
So, Orson kidnapped and imprisoned Pac-Man's family, ransacked his house, made multiple attempts on his life, and Pac-Man just mildly-inconveniencing him with a power pellet is somehow way too brutal? Nah, Orson deserved worse. Pac-Man has displayed far more brutality over lesser offensives. *See:* Pac-Man: Adventures in Time (Outright *KILLS* his new enemy for stealing his artifact).
I want a remake of Pac-Man World 3 where if you have save data from Re-Pac, you can select from the start which ending of this game is canon to your playthrough and all the dialog and character interactions between Pac-Man and Orson change accordingly And also where the game is fun
I think it's worth noting regarding easy mode in Repac is this is a kid's game. Like...4 year old kid's games. While it might be easy to laugh it off as "this game isn't that hard" some kid who can't even read yet and wouldn't understand platforming as a concept might be playing. Easy mode in that sense is kinda like the equivalent of letting a kid play Half-Life but you make him invulnerable and give him all the weapons first. Might remove basically all difficulty and greater gameplay but for an audience young enough this means they can actually progress.
Recently played through Re-Pac and I had a great time! I did start wondering about how it differed from the original and looking up comparisons. I'm glad to hear most agree the game is pretty loyal to the original and most of the changes (save for the cutscenes, which I agree are more charming in the original) seem to be not just for the better, but appear to often be clever improvements that understood what worked well in the game and what didn't. That's what you want to hear whenever a remake comes out!
It was weird to see a traditional TH-cam outro sequence from a video on this channel. This really is a new era. And with it comes a new subscriber. Video essays are one of my special interests, and yours are good enough to make me want to watch them regardless of whether or not I'm particularly interested in their topics. I'll see you next month. Toodles.
glad that you Enjoyed the Game, Clementj64. the Remake Truely is well made and fun as the Original, and the Good Ending is also really good as it was explaining the Friendship between Pac-Man and Orson.

pac n roll is a pacman game released exclusively on the Nintendo ds and it served as a prequel to the other pacman game's like you know something of an origin story that explains where the power pellets come from and why pacman and the ghost gang are always at such odds in it the ghost gang release a legendary evil ghost named golvis from his slumber to wreck havock on the pac people he turns a bunch of pac people including a young pacman into limbless talking tennis balls and pacman sets off with the help of a fairy to save his species the ghost knowing of this try to get in his way frequently throughout levels but fail because of the power pellets which come from some sort of tree pacman faces off against golvis at multiple points and always comes out on top thanks to the fairy who i like to think is the fairy from pacland the game not the fictional town in the game's he saves the other characters that we're captured which included pacgirl who is a younger ms pacman which allows thing's to make much more sense pac master and other characters i don't remember the names of all of which he knew during his childhood pacman has a final encounter with golvis where he defeats him for real the pac people all return back to normal pacman who by he way was still called pacman then that's his litearl birth name is hailed as a hero pacgirl has a crush on him now and the ghost gang watch from a television and get angry when their told that golvis was actually known for his failure so I'm assuming they held a grudge against him ever since then
I'm a person who was born in the 2000s who played the original Pac-man and the only Pac-Man World game I first came in contact to was Pac-Man World 3, but the first Pac-Man World game I actually played was Pac-Man World 2 in 2015 when my special ed teacher brought an Xbox in his class and I loved the hell out of it. And with the remake of Pac-Man World not having Mrs. Pac-Man, I don't know what's worse? The Sonic 3 music being replaced with the prototype music, or Pac's wife leaving him. Honestly I prefer the ladder because I love both the prototype music and the Micheal Jackson music. Also I'm not a bitchy sonic fan (most of the time).
Glad that you are covering this remake since I remember seeing your Pac Man World lets play back over half a decade ago (has it really been that long ago!?). I bought this game day one as I always wanted this game to be remade. Hope to see a Pac Man World 2 RePac in the future.
Interestingly, in the Jappanesse version, if you died in a maze, you would exit out of it and back into the stage. It would refill your health upon starting a maze however.
Incidentally, the ms-pac man lawsuit is a steaming pile in general isnce it's all because of one idiot judge who decided that "coin-operated" should not actually mean "coin-operated" but instead mean any video game, which is absurd. Namco and Atari had a contract and they followed its terms to the letter, but one dumb judge can't understand that and ruins the whole thing for everyone...which is also weird because Atari went down during that time, and "Atari" today is not the same "Atari" from then, so it shouldn't count anyway. That's not even getting into the obvious issues of derivative works.
I had never heard of this series until I was in late middle-school or early high-school, but I always thought that Toc-Man was really damn freaky looking. It was really uncanny and jagged compared to Pac-Man's simplistic, yet cheerful design. I think his redesign is better in the sense that it's still freaky, but it wouldn't turn me away as a little kid.
To me they're still most the same characters just a change of names and the bow on Ms Pac Man's head to a hat. Why don't just sale the rights to namco after all these damn years SMH.
I still remember your LP of the OG game back in 2014, it even convinced me to play it myself! Unfortunately my backlog is kinda full right now, so the remake will have to wait. Interestingly enough, another canadian youtuber reviewed Re-Pac (and compared it to the original) and he thought he flutter jump was overpowered, The Duality of Man, I suppose.
I really love the idea of an optional easy mode, I just wish they kept all of the accessibility changes to the easy mode because the remake is way too easy 🙃The original isn't too much of a challenge, but the remake was such a mindless walk in the park. Also Orson getting what's coming to him is a way better ending 😤
I love Pac-Man World. Re-Pac is also pretty good, but I do have my gripes. Namely, the bounce pads don't quite work right, the new versions of the cutscenes aren't as funny or interesting, and the replacement characters while legally necessary look terrible. Also, the other BIG issue I have is the Mega-Pac thing when you get a power pellet. It trivialises most of the platforming in those areas, the mini-mazes, and worst of all the music that plays is very annoying and it replaces the stage music, forcing it to restart every single time. Which is bad enough on its own but it gets SO much worse in the mazes. I want to enjoy the stage music but can't because the music keeps getting interrupted with pac-man's super sonic jingle and then starting over.

pac n roll is a pacman game released exclusively on the Nintendo ds and it served as a prequel to the other pacman game's like you know something of an origin story that explains where the power pellets come from and why pacman and the ghost gang are always at such odds in it the ghost gang release a legendary evil ghost named golvis from his slumber to wreck havock on the pac people he turns a bunch of pac people including a young pacman into limbless talking tennis balls and pacman sets off with the help of a fairy to save his species the ghost knowing of this try to get in his way frequently throughout levels but fail because of the power pellets which come from some sort of tree pacman faces off against golvis at multiple points and always comes out on top thanks to the fairy who i like to think is the fairy from pacland the game not the fictional town in the game's he saves the other characters that we're captured which included pacgirl who is a younger ms pacman which allows thing's to make much more sense pac master and other characters i don't remember the names of all of which he knew during his childhood pacman has a final encounter with golvis where he defeats him for real the pac people all return back to normal pacman who by he way was still called pacman then that's his litearl birth name is hailed as a hero pacgirl has a crush on him now and the ghost gang watch from a television and get angry when their told that golvis was actually known for his failure so I'm assuming they held a grudge against him ever since then
RIP 2Pac
Namco better make Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac cause I need Clement to talk about Pac-Man World 2.
A friend of mine said that if they ever remake Pac-Man World 2, it should be called Pac-Man World 2Pac.
Glad that you are covering this remake since I remember seeing your Pac Man World lets play back over half a decade ago (has it really been that long ago!?). I bought this game day one as I always wanted this game to be remade. Hope to see a Pac Man World 2 RePac in the future.
I remember playing this game on my PlayStation 1 as a kid awesome video man

Clement: "Don't take that out of context"
To late!
Interestingly, in the Jappanesse version, if you died in a maze, you would exit out of it and back into the stage. It would refill your health upon starting a maze however.
Regarding Pacman's age and having a family at 20. I always thought maybe his species ages twice as fast as we do. So his 20 is more like 40
Oh what the hell? I don't remember seeing this in my sub box. Glad I can watch it now!
"I did a let's play of this game back in 2014"
...holy fuck. Has it really been that long?!
1:13 PAC man on crack 2
Love this new style of video content. I can't wait for you to one day talk about Starfox Zero, I know that's a game you had a LOT of opinions about!
I’m SHOCKED that TH-cam buried this video for me. I only found it because I thought “wonder what Clement is doing right now?”
Almost done with repac. I'm also loving it. I so hope they do repacs for 2 and 3
A Tale of 2 Pacs. The video title is a play of words of the Charles Dicksens book, A Tale of 2 Citys.
The way he CHOMPED Orson🤣🤣🤣Pac Man said 🤷♂️
Btw "Sorry for KIDNAPPING your family" whatduhfuuuck😭😭
Thank you for this Clement
Loved you Paxman World LP and I love this Re PAC
I like how in depth clement goes into video games without sounding pretentious, like Whitelight or Matthew matosis.. Very boring nitpicky game critics
Don't know about Whitelight but Matthewmatosis makes a lot of great points that aren't nitpicks in the slightest.
Companies planning to remake classic games should take notes from this game on how to do it right.
And make it overly easy and fuck it up. This just feels like goes in the other extreme. I don't know why they can't meet somewhere in the middle.
I'm not going to lie, I stopped watching your content after you stopped with LPs but I really enjoyed this. I hope you do more videos like this :)
35:00 I mean, the ghost kidnapped his entire family. Pac-Man is definitely in the right do that lmao. F*ck that ghost lol
So am I the only one here who thinks that Pac-Mom, Pac-Boy, and Pac-Sis could all be superhero alter egos of their respective characters?
What do you think about Sonic Frontiers and especially the Sonic Origins compilation
I got to say this new pac man looks awesome
To me they're still most the same characters just a change of names and the bow on Ms Pac Man's head to a hat. Why don't just sale the rights to namco after all these damn years SMH.
Great video, Clement!
Aw pac baby/pac sis is so cute
ghosts chompin at his feet pac's our hero
pac just can't be beat yeaaaaah
Great video Clement
im losing sleep over the integrity of pac man
I really love the idea of an optional easy mode, I just wish they kept all of the accessibility changes to the easy mode because the remake is way too easy 🙃The original isn't too much of a challenge, but the remake was such a mindless walk in the park.
Also Orson getting what's coming to him is a way better ending 😤
Cant wait for Clement's review on Sonic Frontiers.
Hopefully he'll do a video on the Sonic Origins compilation as well especially because of the inclusion of a certain classic game
So 100 is tied to scoring a big mill. And I myself don't even last that long until I reached the elusive 1 million points.
Suikoden was definitely top tier, cant wait for the remaster
