    Excellent informative video - thank you. I am a huge TLR fan, been out of the hobby for 20-odd years, now back in full throttle.

    I was looking for a build series to see the specifics that I might like to know before I get this kit. Exactly what I needed.

      Hi Ian, I'm glad you are finding my videos helpful.
      I'm going to be getting to the track with this buggy in the next couple weeks and I'll be posting video of runs and any tuning I do to dial in the suspension. Of course, any changes will be suited to my driving style and the track I'm racing at, but it may help you sort out your buggy. Keep in touch and let me know how your build comes together. And, feel free to ask any questions you may have.
      It would be a big help to me if you could share the link to my channel with your RC friends. And, "liking" my videos is alway a big help too!
      Thanks again,
      CJ

      @@MyRCChannel-CJScott Awesome! Was wondering where the running videos were. ATM still saving, probably won't have this for a few months, but I'll be ready.

      @@ian3166 Here's a tip since you're still getting your kit and electronics together... I've found a really fast servo that I've used in several kits now. It's the Reefs RC 299LP High Torque/Speed Low Profile servo. At 8.4v, it rotates in .057 seconds, and .06 sec at 7.4v! That makes it one of the fastest servos on the market... it's $120, but with steel gears and an aluminum case, it's well worth the money.

      @@MyRCChannel-CJScott thanks, but that is a bit more than what I was planning. Trying to stay in a budget while getting decent stuff. Going with a Savox 1258. If I upgrade, that servo sounds awesome.

      @@ian3166 I totally understand. Sometimes we have to make choices based on money versus performance. I've used Savox servos for years and they are usually reliable. The 1258 is reasonably fast, especially if you can get 6v out of your ESC.

    I also use Tekin electronics in all my vehicles. While I use Spektrum servos in my TLR buggies, I also use their T-180 Low Profile servos in my 190 and 200mm Touring cars.
    The Gen4 series, both their 17.5/13.5 and Modified motors are good. Like you, I’m not a “Pro driver”, so I don’t need to buy one of those Trinity “Certified” motors for almost $200, lol.

    Hi Great, video. Question are those Jconcepts tires good for concrate or asphalt? Thank you!

    • @MyRCChannel-CJScott
      @MyRCChannel-CJScott  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      None of the offroad tires are made for asphalt... they are usually softer compounds so they will get torn up on asphalt or concrete. They'll last for a bit, but you'll be replacing them before to long. Consider getting foam tires or road tires.
      In this series of videos, I built a Slash for on-road racing. The club I road race with has an open class for truck based vehicles... basically all is legal as long as you're running rubber tires, truck based chassis, and battery limitations. Check it out... in this playlist I go through different tires until I do a conversion to run 1/8 scale touring car tires.

      Duratrax used to have Bandito tires in sizes to fit 2WD buggies - looks like Horizon no longer sells them, but maybe if you look around, some shops might still have some. I got these for my daughter’s 22 5.0 SR so that she could learn to drive out in front of the house before taking her to a track. FWIW, the best combo was C2 compound for the fronts, C3 for the rear.
