Hey Brendan, thanks for the video! If you're ever near Sydney, I've got a JD Woodwinds mouthpiece for my Bundy Contra that I'd be happy to let you have a go of - can't really provide much judgement on it, as I'm primarily an oboist, but it definitely seems to be pretty good (Can't really ship it interstate, as mine didn't come with a stock mouthpiece) Also, holy crap, that's quite the excerpt. Might just have to learn that one some day 😅
Nice to have the real deal horn to play with. Our clarinet choir recently purchased a straight Leblanc contrabass so we know we'll have one for the group and not depend on a member having one or needing to borrow one. I have yet to give it a blow as it needs some adjustments to be ready to go, but looking forward to playing it. [One of our former members has both CA and CB Leblanc paperclips] 💯Awesome stand idea! We've been pondering how to rack our CB and the market ones are so darned expensive. Gives me some ideas to play with. Great to also get some info on the mouthpieces. Not so many options for contras. Cheers!
The Eb Contras can often be found second-hand for under 1000 USD on a lit of sites, if you guys need one of them as well. I think mine was only a little more than that after getting it serviced and having it shipped to Australia
Rather than stooping to play it, why didn't you rest the instrument with its floor peg on its case or something else to bring it up? Lovely instrument, though. It looks new. (Edit: I see you do something like that later in the video!)
Just purchased a chinese PaperClip Contrabass, excited to see how it will play!
You do realise that if the floor spike is too short, you can always place something on the floor underneath it to raise the height, eg. the case.

Very nice! I have the straight metal Leblanc contra-alto to low Eb. Very jealous of those side trill keys as mine only has one key there.
Awesome! As a humble Bundy owner, I've long been intrigued by the paperclip contra alto. Thanks for the comparison.

Great video man, the clarinet looked amazing 👍
welcome back, great video!!! :)
I have one of these, and I am very tall. There is not a floor peg long enough for me. I rest it on the chair between my legs and that's about right.
Wow, fantastic sound!!!

The Bundy has overall a richer sound. The paperclip is OK
Hello everything is fine? I’m from Brazil, can you sell me this contra alto low c?
