    One take! Ignoring random muppetry. That's when you know you're at the top of your game as a tester/presenter. Blade is awesome but that was a demo about how cool Neevesy is.

    • @fridgemagnet

      that random muppetry was the legendary McGuiness

    What a line up! Thanks Neevsy.
    Interest that John McGuiness was the most aware and happy to move out of shot that anyone else. Top man.

    • @adrianbroughton9752
      @adrianbroughton9752 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As frustrating as the oblivious muppets are standing in the way, Neevsy and McGuiness would be the only two people in that clip who have had any Media training at all. The other people just don't have an awareness of where they are in relation to a camera and what it's trying to film.

    • @RetroSuperbikes
      @RetroSuperbikes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 'muppets' in the video are the bikers I invited to get every year of FireBlade together for Honda UK at Donington. To be fair Neevesey didn't introduce himself to me or anyone, just turned up and started walking around.

    I remember back in the probably early 90's I hadn't had a bike for 2 or 3 years, and I was driving to work over Staples Corner flyover and a guy came past me on the back wheel on a FireBlade, and my love of the bike started there, some years later and I've owned 5 different model FireBlades ranging from a 97 RRV to the 1000RR, but my favourite has to be the 1997 RRV Foxeye I had back in the early 2000's in HRC Colours, that bike took me into Europe touring for the first time and hooning all around the South of France with my mates, and it was that RRV that I had my first knee down, some great days I'll remember forever, I even set up and ran a FireBlade dedicated website from 2002 to 2012 and I've owned a lot of different bikes over the years, (hence the name) but the Blade will always be closest to my heart, I've only recently had to sell my Y2K 929, due to circumstances 😥
    So thank you Tadao Baba you changed peoples lives forever.

    The noise restrictions at Donington are not ironic, it’s rich people moving into the area and being able to influence the local council… the track and noise was there first… their sensitive ears only flowed due to the lower price of housing due to the location by the track. A better idea would have been either knock the houses down or buy them and Air BNB’s for visitors to the track.

    At that time of release I was racing with Phillip Island being my home track. The blade changed the game as it wasn’t built to go racing (WSB was 750 4 cylinder Japanese bikes and the 916). I remember being on the road (on a brand new GSXR-750) and a mate purchased the first blade. He was just an average rider, we were riding together, he overtook a bus and I followed. When we next pulled over I asked how many gears did you go down to get past the bus (I went from 6th to 4th) and he simply replied none and still pulled away from me. That made my next road bikes decision simple. Blade or nothing. 👍😎🇦🇺

You just don’t want to leave the track surface as if the racers do they will go down as the grounds will be very wet. I was in the opposite grandstand to where Doohan had his famous off at turn one. I was also racing when Foggy had his famous off existing turn 2 as I was about 200 metres behind. I’ve forgotten about more laps during racing than most have done on track days which I’ve never actually done. Not going this year, however will be a couch potato. Yourself?
