From one Kansas gal to another...thank you Annette! Although I'm in the desert, I am going to try this on a few outdoor container plants and I'll let you know how it goes...
Thanks for the demonstration. I'm going on vacation and had a water wicking idea in mind for my plants as well but wasn't sure what kind of string I was going to use. The water container definitely has to be completely above the plant to have all the H2o siphon off. Otherwise I think the twine will just dry out.
Thank you Annette for sharing. Please ignore the ones who suffer a mental disorder. Like the plants: some are good plants and others are just weeds that unfortunately grows. Do not get discouraged or stop sharing your experiences
What a clever idea. I've never seen anything like this before and I think this is such a good idea. I've subscribed to your channel and I look forward to following you on TH-cam. Thanks for sharing.

I would imagine it would struggle outside due to the heat. It could be worth trying, but I would definitely make sure that the hole in the top of your lid is tight, so things don't evaporate.
Hello, I just wanted to ask what kind of twine did you use and if cotton rope also works as well, if not what other types will work? Craft stores are a rarity in my city (not a lot of DIY or other handy crafts are still practiced here), so my only source for my indoor gardening needs is a hardware store that only has a single aisle for all their gardening products.
OK... 1) "Fuck tard" isn't a word. Plus, you may want to learn how to punctuate a bit better if you're going to come onto my channel to harass me. 2) Living in Colorado, there are restrictions to how much marijuana you can grow. I'm from Kansas, so I'm not a true expert on the topic, but as a journalist, I've gathered you a little info. www.colorado.gov/pacific/marijuanainfodenver/marijuana-retailers-home-growers This may help guide you a bit on your growing needs. It's also important to note that you cannot sell or transport things unless you have proper licensing. (All of that is noted in the link I've attached.) 3) You can still ask the police for advice.

How long Will it take to get all the Water off/ dry? Absorbed by the plant ?
i love her smile lol. ok forget it, i have trying it
I love your video, thank you!
Thank you so much.
I'm suddenly into watering plant.
Thank you. great tip! I just have one question: is the twine reaching the roots or you just leave it on the surface of the soil?
I would sort of push it down the roots much as you can
try not to hurt the plants though
I push things down far, so the roots can get a good drink.
Beautiful smile !! thanks for the tip ;-)
Does this work outside? I'm thinking the sun would dry the twine before the water could get to the plants.
I would imagine it would struggle outside due to the heat. It could be worth trying, but I would definitely make sure that the hole in the top of your lid is tight, so things don't evaporate.
hell like the video im first time indoor garden trying it out thanks alot.

Craft stores are a rarity in my city (not a lot of DIY or other handy crafts are still practiced here), so my only source for my indoor gardening needs is a hardware store that only has a single aisle for all their gardening products.
You could just use any string/rope that has a really good absorbency.
the tutorial starts at 1:43
You're right. It's not immediate. I'm a fan of an introduction.
How long does the water last from this size of water tank you have shown?
Now you just need some plants!
nice video, I'm gonna try this!
Cool. Tell me how it goes!
could you use one bottle for many plants? please respond i need to do something like this for a project. Thanks!
I don't see why not. As long as you have enough water for all the plants. I personally would try making separate holes for each piece of twine.
cool idea... has anyone used this on regular/larger sized houseplants?
Thank you for the video - very helpful
I've tried once but it only works for a few days, does it depend on the rope type?
I've had it for several. I used larger containers for the longer length in time.
I used twine in the craft section of the store.
Thank you! I was so worried.
Thank you!
I love this girl? Thanks. Mark
Thanks Mark. Ya big bellend.
Hmm...
Sweet girl with great idea :)
for how long it can sustain watering?
thanks I hope this works while im away!!
Thanks for sharing..
You are a beautiful young lady with a great tip for watering plants. I am however, going to spend the 20 bucks.
:) OK.
Would this work for cannabis?
Why don't you ask the police.
i live in colorado u fuck tard

i know i have 3 plants
I tried this with different kinds of rope but it just dries out in a couple of days
Oh no! I've had luck with it, but maybe it's a matter of how the water is stored, humidity in your home, etc.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
You're welcome!!!!
I read that shoelaces work best for wicking. This looks like jute twine. Can't see how this dry material could absorb enough water. Just sayin.
Sharon Holmes that’s a great idea too.
But the twine works just fine. Just sayin.
What about big barrel like pots
Siddharth Anil It works with everything. I had a two-bottle system for a bigger one once. You'd be amazed how much they "drink."
ok i have set up the drip system on 8 of my plants will let you know how they do
Did it work?
hi there it worked brilliantly I now have set these up all over my garden
Awesome!
How long does this self-watering system last for? a week? a month? Thanks for this video. Cheap, quick and easy!
Alana Lowe It lasted a while for me. A half-gallon was PLENTY for a maybe a week of feeding one plant in my house.
Thanks!
Hahahahaha nice surname "Lawless"!!'
wait a sec........self watering plant dispenser or self plant water dispenser......🙄
The hypen puts an emphasis on plant dispenser. Self-watering plant dispenser.
Has any one tried this with the bottle underneath for a hanging basket? :-)??
Plastic, plastic and more plastic - ever heard of BPA?
Roger Birds Yes. I'm not concerned.
Roger Birds But definitely a worthy point.
Bla bla bla bla snoring....
