@@garfieldwhittaker944 Why? The south coat of Westmoreland and St Elisabeth are gonna be the next hot areas for tourism and infrastructure buildout. Negril through sav la mar is gonna be a metro. I bet that Negril will be Jamaica's 4 city. Hanover does not have that capacity plus Hanover to the new airport will be like 30 minutes drive.
100% worth it. The school is located 1 mile up the road from the town center where the airport will be surrounded by sugar cane fields. The housing developments. Are tiny
The location of a airport is not just about the open land . The surrounding Terrain is critical as well as the typical prevailing wind patterns as these are a FEW of the critical factors that are taken into consideration when choosing the location of an airport . if you use google map and look at the area you will see its ideal as it’s lots of flat land for several miles in all directions. The relocation of housing and the school is a drop in the bucket in terms of $$ when compared to the overall cost to build the airport and the long term benefits in the next 10-50 years. Lots and lots of houses were relocated during the just completion of construction of the 4 lane highway from harbour view to yallahas st thomas . The affected persons were happy 🎉🎉 as they ended up with improved housing when compared to what the had before
Gentrification is fine as long as the people are compensated enough to afford another home elsewhere. Saw a story in the newspaper stating that an 80 yr old pensioner wants $10mil from gov if he has to relocate to accommodate the construction of the airport. Hopefully he's given way more as that figure is too low. Gov will more than likely compensate those affected with new housing or money ... or both.
The school aspect is interesting and will get some pushback in the political arena. Gov will probably have to lease a property that is big enough to facilitate the students and teachers until the new school is built.
Dude, go to the area before you make your questioning video. The school is old very easy to relocate to a new buildout. Apart from the school, the area is all flat and empty land. With the airport built, the entire area will get investments. Little London is literally the best place in the west for the airport. It is central. Your videos are always light on substance even when you bring forth great topics. Do better.
Most definitely
Yes Little London is Suitable for Negril Airport
Hanover would be a great alternative site...

The relocation issue is minor in terms of major infrastructure. This is quite usual.

Brother yes it worth it the airport will bring lot of job and money
It is not unusual to relocate communities when infrastructure is being developed. In fact, it is very common.
The Ascent seems to be flopped, the Residences, the Spires, and the Amaterra hotel in Trelawny seemed to be flopped, how much more? THIS HAS TO GO ON
The crime will move with the criminals 😂😂😂😂
It's the only flat land with an open approach for aeroplanes. The only other flat land is the Negril Morass, a swamp
One wonders if there isn't another suitable site.
Vernam field. No school to move. No housing scheme to move.
Best location.
So true.
The runways needs to be 2000m for A380
Are you saying we should throw our hands in the air and give up? Why we have to keep struggling with roadblocks to progress?
All the multi billion dollar hotel owner need to make schools for the locals that’s a good way to get rid of crime
The housing developments are not massive. Look at the big picture, man
Good location need to remove that School. That school is old. Need to make a new school
The airport should be named the pj patterson international airport.
