One thing that makes Um Jammer Lammy more iconic than Parappa, is the fact that they have Teriyaki Yoko in it, the amazing slug idol of the Underworld (or Hawaii, depending on the version) ☺️

So something to learn about PTR1 and UJL is that the timing on button presses is VERY strict, however they fixed this problem in PTR2!

fun fact: after you beat the game as lammy you unlock parappa as a playable charachter beat the game as parappa and you unlock a vs mode where you can play against a bot l think
Just to let you know, the items that each opponent gives you in the cutscenes can actually be used in-game by pressing the Select button! It basically allows you to put different effects on Lammy's Guitar, and sometimes it'll give you extra Score for equipping one

You definitely need to watch the Japanese or European versions of the cutscenes so you can see how crazy the cutscene and song that was changed is. It has one of my favorite fourth wall breaks ever in it, too.😂

I know, I was really worried he was going to skip my favorite game in the series. I’m not surprised he’s struggling with it a bit though as it’s definitely the hardest game in the series. 😂

hey bijuu, after you finish the game you can replay it as parappa, it has new songs and the already existing ones become hiphop instead of rock
also, you can press the dpad or select button to change the pitch of the guitar
What does changing the pitch do?

FYI: Losing is not based on your score, it's based on your ranking (bad and awful). If you complete the song with a good or cool rank, you win! Also, at least to me, the game is easier when repeating the button prompts and THEN adding more if you have space. Otherwise your fate kind of rests in the game's opinion more.

There is a easy setting you can turn on in the options menu. It just changes all the buttons to x instead of having to press a bunch of different ones. It makes it soo much easier!
You can only play up to Stage 6

another thing: those items you get at the end of a stage are effects for lammys guitar, you can play with them pressing select
The onion song is one of the hardest in the whole game (bfw onion is dropping hints in the song about some of the other levels). Sometimes I think this song was developed to be at the end and they just moved it to the beginning for continuity reasons.
it's literally one of the easiest stages to complete :p

Fun fact The way you did cool mode is how you do cool mod in parapa the rapper you have to freestyle between beats when you do you get cool mode then you have to keep a creative freestyle going I hope this helps also I hope you try vib ribbon some day it's made by the same guys and it's amazing
This game expects you to be a master when you begin it, but you’ll most certainly be a master by the end.
I do not enjoy playing rythm games or watching rhythim games. I can't even spell that word... but I love watching all your videos. You even make my least favorite genres so enjoyable to watch!

there's MUCH more stuff you still don't know about this game. It is, in my opinion, the best and most complete game to come from the PaRappa series. But y'know, let's do it baby steps.

For the people who don’t understand why he literally sucks at it. It’s not technically his fault. This is just because modern displays nowadays have lag and have developers develop. This game was meant for CRTs, which they were completely legless. If you were playing this on a CRT he would not have any problems with it sucking at it during the beginning.
