So parappa is actually where melodi gets the freestyle mechanic as if you free style WELL, you get a higher score. Also the stars just indicate the beat

Well, scratchin melodii does NOT have any Freestyle insted in the McWave level.. And it's still demo so it's in development..
and once you get to cool it actually gets easier since 99% of the time button mashing will do to keep your score up for the rest of the level

There are actually 3 games in the Parappa series, Parappa the Rapper, Um Jammer Lammy, and Parappa the Rapper 2. If you want to play through all of the games, I suggest doing them in that specific order, because Lammy appears in Parappa 2 and her inclusion can be kind of confusing without context of her spin-off. Plus, it's by far the craziest game in the series.
She literally plays guitar with a fucking chainsaw, and that's somehow not even the craziest thing in the game.
Hell, in the European and Japanese version Lammy dies and goes to hell because of a banana peel

My actual drivers test went remarkably similar to the parappa drivers test segment too lol. Me and the lady spent the whole time yelling at each other and she kept randomly slamming on the brake on her side, she told me I’m a good driver but need an attitude adjustment. But luckily they don’t score based on attitude so I passed.

There are actually two more games after this one. The second one is kind of a spinoff game called Um Jammer Lammy and its about a lamb girl who plays the guitar instead of rapping. It's actually my favorite one of the three. Parappa does make a cameo appearance at the end.

hold left on the d-pad to repeat the first phrase mapped to a button (i.e. "in the rain or in the snow" while holding left on dpad will become "in in in in in in in" since the entire sentence is mapped to just triangle)

This game was made when everyone still had a CRT television. This game having sorta precise input timing, combined with the fact nearly every modern display except a few doesn't have the virtually non-existent input lag of a CRT makes the game harder, imo.

Please finish this! You might also want to look into Umm Jammy Lammer. Same makers! Personally never played it but it's also supposed to be good
Other rhythm games you may want to consider (if you can get your hands on them):
Vib-Ribbon, Patapon, Space Channel Five, and Crypt of the Necrodancer (easiest to access easily). I'll list Samba de Amigo, too, but yeah. That would take some effort to get because of maracas, although it was ported to Wii at some point.
Game recommendation: "Zero escape: 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors" and "Zero escape: Virtues last reward" which is a sequel. I would compare it to Danganronpa but it has its very obvious differences.. but you'll love it!

First Scratchin' Melodii, now PaRappa the Rapper? That's pretty groovy, if I'm being honest.
By the way, if you do decide to play the other games, I think you should play Um Jammer Lammy - a PaRappa spin-off - and then play PaRappa the Rapper 2 after. There's a few references to Um Jammer Lammy in PaRappa 2 and the game is pretty great (sadly skipped over quite a lot, though).
If you want the normal cup head music just go to visual on settings and switch title screen to original
