The plastic is lexan, a type of polycarbonate. It's also used to make bullet proof glass, police riot shields, and other high impact products. The gators weren't able to get their jaws around the kayak though so I wasn't really able to determine how well it could take a bite. One of them got their jaws around the very front of the clear kayak but it wasn't able to grip it and only scratched it a little. :-)

I've spent plenty of time around saltwater crocs in the southern half of Florida and have found them not to be any more aggressive than the American Alligator. Maybe over in Australia there's a big difference in aggression between alligators and the crocs they have over there but I can't speak to that from any experience, only what I've seen on TV. But I can speak from experience about American Crocs and they don't seem any more aggressive than the American Alligators to me.

Do you mean you have a See Through Canoe brand clear kayak, or some other clear kayak? There are a number of clear kayaks on the market but they aren't all the same and there are different designs and different manufacturers. The designs are very similar on some of these clear kayaks and the only way to tell the difference is to look at the hardware or to look closely at the materials. This video doesn't provide a good enough look to distinguish it from other kayaks. That being said, the easy way to know if you have a See Through Canoe brand clear kayak or a knock off is that a See Through Canoe will have a serial number engraved on the back of the frame, often on the underside. Another easy way to distinguish is that a See Through Canoe will have puncture proof flotation attached in 3 places on the frame. The flotation can be used to right the canoe in deep water if capsized and also enables you to get back in the vessel without water washing in as you re-enter. All 3 pieces of the flotation that is attached to the frame also have "See Through Canoe" stamped into the marine vinyl. :-)

The lake was FULL of alligators. There was no direction I could go that didn't involve going through and over gators.
