Doesn't it cost 80$ a year to use the scuba features? That deters me from the product because I can buy new gear or new dive computers in 2-3 years of subscription.

Yeah, but as an every day watch, as a recreational diver, I think it's brilliant.
What they dont tell is that you need a subscription of 80$ a year to use it as a dive computer. no true diver will pay for that.
