Yup, came up with that fix back in the early 70s on my own. Nice video on this subject.

Michael I’m having problem with my 1967 w108 280s Mercedes’ Benz brake handle. So stiff that I can’t move it. Also the foot brake pedal all the way down. What do you think the cause of it. Cables look ok , Could it be the rear shoe pads worn? Cheers sonny

having a hard time finding repair videos over replace videos. this was good information and I hope someone can help me here. I attempted to repair the multifunction switch on my 92 ranger; however during disassembly two little ss bb's fell out and for the life of me I can't figure out where they go and I can't find an exploded view parts diagram. spent 4 hours last night learning all the ways it doesn't go back together. everything goes back together just fine without them, but they almost seem like they would be roller guides for the blinker lever. anyone have any ideas before I fork over $60 to replace? Not to worried about replacing, but I would rather learn to repair what I already have, less wasteful this way. hopefully someone sees this and can help, thank you.
