    The BMW HP4 is a high-performance motorcycle model that has its roots in BMW Motorrad's rich history of producing superbikes and sport motorcycles. The HP4, short for "High-Performance 4-cylinder," made its debut in 2012 as a more powerful and track-focused version of the BMW S1000RR, which was already known for its exceptional performance on the road.
    The HP4 was developed to cater to motorcycle enthusiasts and professional riders seeking an even more exhilarating riding experience. It featured a potent 999cc inline-four engine, which produced impressive power output, advanced electronics, and aerodynamic enhancements. Some of its key features included dynamic damping control, quick-shifter for clutchless gear changes, and a race-oriented ABS system.
    Over the years, BMW Motorrad released various iterations of the HP4, each pushing the boundaries of technology and performance. These motorcycles are celebrated for their lightweight design, exceptional handling, and impressive power-to-weight ratios, making them formidable competitors on the track and thrilling rides on the open road.
    The BMW HP4 has become a symbol of the brand's commitment to innovation and excellence in the sportbike category, appealing to riders who demand the highest levels of performance and precision. It continues to be a sought-after model for those who crave the adrenaline rush of high-speed riding and the thrill of pushing the limits on two wheels.
    This particular 2014 BMW HP4 came in stock for the most part, but had a few goodies. He had the titanium akropovic header and slip-on, but we added the link pipe to eliminate the cat, added the samco hoses, EK chain. We stuck it on the dyno and ran into some issues. Once we got that handled, we were able to get this HP4 custom tuned and showing some impressive numbers!!

    Great vid! I’m learning lots about my hp4. Mine is set up for track only. Has lots of aftermarket stuff. I wish I could find a dyno guy on west coast. Do you know a guy?

    Hey bud, do you know where I can get a fairing kit for my 2014. I bought a track only bike and want to convert back to street! Thanks! Eric

      You can either search online for a good used oem set or go with an abs plastic kit. One that we have seen recently that isn't horrible is Monster Fairings. They aren't oem and they are made from abs plastic but they fit pretty decent compared to most other knock off brands. 🤙

    my hp4 pulled 202hp on the dyno but at the engine...what would that aprox. be at the wheel? my hp4 is bone stock, just got a tune

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Drive train loss is usually around 13% or so from my calculations. Some are upwards to 15% depending on what type and condition of chain, sprockets, tires, etc.
      So if you take 202hp and take away the 13% you are left with 175.74whp approximately.

      @jaker2731 every dyno reads differently too. It's good to get info from the dyno operator and get an idea as to how their dyno reads 👍 with that being said, you could have had a tune or just very good parts put on the bike 🤙

      @provenpowercycles I bought it with 1500kms on it, dynoverks whilst up race bikes for Philip Island track melbourne dynoed it and said it made the most wheel hp out of any stock s1000rr they had done, but wasn't there so can't confirm it

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All we know is that it is an akrapovic link pipe. We didn't order it, the customer did and brought it to us 👍

    Why it's 170? This bike comes stock 193hp..

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Manufacturers aren't measuring to the wheel, they measure to the crank, or engine horsepower. We are measuring to the wheel. There is anywhere from 13-15% drive train loss on average 👍👍
