Man you need to tune the ecu if you put a de-cat exhaust on this bike. The euro 5 emission regulations make this bike run super lean, so you need to add a fuel dongle or tune the ecu for it otherwise you'll ruin the engine
Hi, I’m thinking of picking one of these up. Just wanted your thoughts on 2up riding. Obviously this is not the bike for extended riding w/ a passenger. I’m pretty small, 5’10 about 160 and my wife about 5’7 and thin. Do you think it’s possible/somewhat fun to ride with a passenger for shorter/quick rides? She’d probably rarely ride with me tbh but just wanted that option
100% a great bike to 2up for fun shorter rides. The long seat and riding position is very comfortable as well! I 2up with my wife all the time with no problems!

I wanted something fun for daily use back and forth to work and twisties. I heard the ktm 690 hauls ass and it pretty fast amd can hang with street bikes on back roads and from the get go!
You won’t be disappointed honestly the most fun bike I’ve ever owned. And that’s awesome I had a street bob last year but I want something bigger like a road glide for long hauls. I took the street bob to bike week in OC Maryland like a 3 hour ride and haaaaated it. I would have rather taken the ktm hahaha 🤣
Hi, to remove the anti clutch up lock on Hyper 950 you just move back the metal spring under clutch handle so it’s not connected when you clutch in. Only drawback is that you can’t start it with gear in and clutch in. As you sold it it do not matter anymore. How is the torque against Hyper? I have a hyper with full exhaust. And dealing little bit with swapping it to a new KTM smc 690 2020z I love the hyper but like the idea with a lighter bike for take anywhere, little offroad. If I get money between to cover my expenses. I might be up for it, just afraid it will feel like it’s a downgrade in power etc. what you think? Thanks and cheers

I did have an issue with it when I first got the bike but I brought it in to get fixed and remapped and it worked because I had a new 2019 and it worked fine right away no break in period
interested to hear some feedback on why you prefer the 690 smc r over the 950 RVE. i know you cant really cross shop them, but still worth gauging their pros and cons.
So the RVE was made to be a hypermotard but unfortunately the old models the 939s are way better. The old 939s do not have all of the computer lockouts and don’t restrict you slipping the clutch for wheelies. The new RVE you cannot turn off traction control all the way. And as far as wheelies you can power wheelie the RVE but it is very aggressive. I prefer clutch wheelies which the RVE does not let you do regardless of wheelie control completely off. Speed wise the RVE wins over the 690 but as far as fun for me personally I would take the 690 all day. 690 has cheaper parts cheaper mods and you can have way more fun of a time being a hooligan on the 690. As far as the RVE, no stoppies unless you hot wire abs off and no clutch up wheelies. I wish I knew all this info before buying the new 950 but trial and error I guess lol now you don’t have to worry about it lol unless you don’t care for wheelies and just speed then I would say go with the Ducati.

Has this been bike been reliable all the time? I hear ktm’s are very sensitive to leaks and electronic faults.. i want to sell my z900 and get a 690 but i’m a bit concerned about reliability issues.

Okay so I had a 2019 Ktm 690 smc r and never had an issue with the quick shifter. Then this one I got and I instantly had an issue with it. I brought it back to the mfg and they updated the software and it was good to go. Have not had a problem since. The issue I had was odd it wouldn’t quickshift regardless of how hard you pushed on it when under a load. Almost like the computer didn’t even know the bike had a quick shifter. So idk but easy fix

Where did you get the exhaust. The black one I see is aluminum. I can't find the black in Titanium with carbon fiber cap. All I can find is aluminum in black with black carbon cap. Thanks
I ordered my exhaust at Hanover powersports in NJ there awesome to talk to on the phone and really knowledgeable. Arrow just came out with a full titanium exhaust that’s on back order now but like double the price of my slip on. I paid like 539 for that one. I just asked for the black finish I actually didn’t know if it would come with the carbon fiber tip or not lol
Dude this is weird.. the 2021 models have led turnsignal lights and the dashboard is upgraded. You basically have a 2019 model with the colour scheme of the 2021😕

I haven’t had any false neutrals on this one. But....I am having an issue with my quick shifter. It will not quick shift under open throttle. I took it to Ktm but still has the issue. I’m taking it back to have it replaced after my trip to Tennessee and it is covered under factory warranty so no money out of pocket so I’m not too worried about it lol
Unfortunately I ordered it through a shop in NJ and went and picked it up. I was looking for fast shipping and I couldn’t get it myself for some reason so I had to call around until someone had it lol

the front on the European 2021 is 5 inches lower. looks stupid, your front height is normal. i believe they think Europeans are toddlers. can you measure it? when it's on its side stand, steer left and measure the height of the right end of the steering bar. i will measure it in the shop. let's see the difference, then I know I need the American suspension if it's really that much different.

Anything done to the tuning when you put the slip-on on?? I’m gonna put the FMF on mine with just the fuel dongle for now.
Nothing yet but seems to be running great. I will be running it and doing an air box in the future
