❤️❤️❤️❤️👣 This was the first thing I saw by her as well, maybe 15 or so months ago. I had the exact same reaction as you. She was 9 years and two months old here. She will be 19 next January 10th. And she has gotten better every year from here! I just flew out to LA last month and back home to Texas the same evening just to see her live. It was hands down the best concert I have ever been to, and I am 65. The amazing thing about this young lady is that she not only sings like a goddess, but she is kindhearted and humble as well. Did I mention that she is also gracious and pure class? No skimpy costumes, no vulgar lyrics or performances, just pure classy magical singing. She is the most skilled and versatile singer I have ever heard. She is Norwegian, by the way, and English is her third or fourth language. She always performs barefoot, but not for any reason you will probably guess. I will leave it for someone else to tell the story, but she became the youngest published author in Norway when she wrote a book about it at 9 or 10. She has helped raise millions for charities starting at 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent competing against adults! When asked what she wanted to do with the pretty large prize money, she said she wanted to give it to poor children. Her family protected her from the music industry after this , wanting her to have a normal childhood, well as normal as traveling all over the world to sing allowed. Reportedly, they even turned down Disney. They permitted her to sing only during summer, at charitable events, and otherwise not in school. There are around 200 videos on TH-cam of her. Many are not on her two official channels, so don't think that's all there is. I still don't know how what you just watched is possible, but I am thrilled that it was. I just subbed in hopes of seeing further reactions to Angelina and believe me when I say that this is far from the only surprising and astounding thing you will see and hear.

Sorrry but no : The guy reading her handwriting is not the band leader, it is the sound engineer. She wrote the lyrics she wanted to sing, nothing to,do,with instruction to the musicians. On « portrait of a child » she miss the beginning and ask the musicians when she had to start ( you ça see them waving at her when it is time to begin, not,the opposit). There is no key change on all the song, she missed the end (had to sing it low) and ask to do do,it again to sing the end correctly. I’m anAJ big fan but I know music and arrangements and there is no need to add legends to her … like « she play guitar and piano and flute », anyone who learned a bit of guitar or piano can do better … It don’t help her and she don’t need it….. 🙂

Angelina is 18 now and keeps getting better. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina never learned the orphan's name but called her Princess. The orphan girl replied, "princesses live in castles, we live in ruins". Angelina titled her song about this story, "Princess of Ruins". Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Not really that hard to imagine. If i hadn’t come across her by chance a couple years ago while checking out some reaction videos, I still wouldn’t know who she is. She has a long list of accomplishments over the years but she is still relatively unknown to the general public. She will not have her big breakout until she starts to get more exposure and some steady U.S. radio play. Her name is getting out there little by little but it may still take a little while.

She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Etta James, Whitney Houston, and Adele to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield"). So, she is a real all-rounder and I think all her fans are eager to see and hear what she is doing next...

❤️❤️❤️❤️👣 This was the first thing I saw by her as well, maybe 15 or so months ago. I had the exact same reaction as you. She was 9 years and two months old here. She will be 19 next January 10th. And she has gotten better every year from here! I just flew out to LA last month and back home to Texas the same evening just to see her live. It was hands down the best concert I have ever been to, and I am 65. The amazing thing about this young lady is that she not only sings like a goddess, but she is kindhearted and humble as well. Did I mention that she is also gracious and pure class? No skimpy costumes, no vulgar lyrics or performances, just pure classy magical singing. She is the most skilled and versatile singer I have ever heard. She is Norwegian, by the way, and English is her third or fourth language. She always performs barefoot, but not for any reason you will probably guess. I will leave it for someone else to tell the story, but she became the youngest published author in Norway when she wrote a book about it at 9 or 10. She has helped raise millions for charities starting at 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent competing against adults! When asked what she wanted to do with the pretty large prize money, she said she wanted to give it to poor children. Her family protected her from the music industry after this , wanting her to have a normal childhood, well as normal as traveling all over the world to sing allowed. Reportedly, they even turned down Disney. They permitted her to sing only during summer, at charitable events, and otherwise not in school. There are around 200 videos on TH-cam of her. Many are not on her two official channels, so don't think that's all there is. I still don't know how what you just watched is possible, but I am thrilled that it was. I just subbed in hopes of seeing further reactions to Angelina and believe me when I say that this is far from the only surprising and astounding thing you will see and hear.

For I Put A Spell On You - Angelina was 9 years old - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the vocal arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version and communicated to the band how she wanted it to be played - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. For more insight into how Angelina works, here is a rehearsal video with some of the same band members at the same age (9 yrs old) - You will see that she is aware of what each musician is doing and communicates to them what she wants to do. The first thing she says is that she wants to start, followed by her saying she wants to start over, later she tells the pianist that the key is too low and that she wants to raise it a half-tone, then at the end of the song she changes the ending on the fly. The guy reading her handwriting is not the band leader, it is the sound engineer. She wrote the lyrics she wanted to sing, nothing to,do,with instruction to the musicians.
On « portrait of a child » she miss the beginning and ask the musicians when she had to start ( you ça see them waving at her when it is time to begin, not,the opposit). There is no key change on all the song, she missed the end (had to sing it low) and ask to do do,it again to sing the end correctly.
I’m anAJ big fan but I know music and arrangements and there is no need to add legends to her … like « she play guitar and piano and flute », anyone who learned a bit of guitar or piano can do better …

I'm 58 and mostly stayed with 60's-early 80's Rock, Top 40 and Soul/R&B. Since discovering Angelina and getting used to jazz embellishments and styles, I've barely listened to anything else in the last 5 years. I've listened to her sing for at least a thousand hours as well as watched many hundreds of hours of reactions to her.
I and other fans believe she is an Empath that can feel every drop of emotion in a song she listens to, she re-interprets and retells the songs story in her style which is always beautiful! At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina never learned the orphan's name but called her Princess. The orphan girl replied, "princesses live in castles, we live in ruins". Angelina titled her song about this story, "Princess of Ruins".
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Not really that hard to imagine. If i hadn’t come across her by chance a couple years ago while checking out some reaction videos, I still wouldn’t know who she is.
She has a long list of accomplishments over the years but she is still relatively unknown to the general public. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.
Now 18 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, 2023, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out some time this year. Angelina released her new single, Our Time, and is fantastic! She returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. On September 22, 2023, Angelina had her first U.S. concert that sold out in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. On December 11, 2023, she was asked to come back and perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She first performed at this prestigious event in 2014 when she was 8. On Feb.29th, 2024, she performed 2 shows on one night at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. A film crew followed her and created a documentary of her called Angelina Jordan: 10 Years In The Making which premiered on her official TH-cam channel on March 29th, 2024. Currently, she is working with 3 time Grammy winner songwriter/producer Toby Gad creating new original music for her to sing. Gad has co-wrote and produced such big hits like All Of Me by John Legend, Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie, If I Were A Boy by Beyonce, and Skyscraper by Demi Lovato and a number of others.
Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.
Angelina is 9 years old in this video. Angelina started singing when she was 1 1/2 years of age and there is video of her at that age sitting in a bed with a microphone in her hand singing Whitney Houston's "I will always love you ". Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield").
