I get a sense of sweetness from this piece. Like sitting down outside in the morning with a piece of pie in autumn. I look out towards a bright windy field of yellow and orange eating pie while i take in the glorious view infront of me.
A pair of lovely violin sonatinas! Both contain a freshness and melodic beauty one might not expect from a pair of mid-20th-century sonatinas, and they contain a balanced blend of fun and emotional depth to keep you hooked throughout. All this wrapped up in the top-notch performances of the Eduard Grach and the composer himself! I can hear influences of Myaskovsky in the first sonatina, and of Catoire in the second one, and an overall coloration akin to Medtner, great composers to learn from, and all as underrated as Svetlanov the composer; of course, it would be silly to not acknowledge Svetlanov's own voice in these gems. These really ought to be played more often. Thank you for posting these!

It seems more like the first piece with three movements was a sonata, while the second with a single movement was a sonatina, but sure, name it whatever you want, right?
