In this video, I continue the exploration of accents by discussing a sticking concept that moves away from single strokes. By applying measured roll stickings to odd numbered note groupings, and paradiddle stickings to even numbered groupings, we can effectively and intuitively voice various accent figures in a way that allows the sticking to take care of itself.

Such an absorbing and well presented video. Packed with info that goes beyond the length of the video. Concepts are clearly explained and demonstrated with flair and concision. A ‘must see’ video for anyone interested in the art & science of snare drum practice. Perhaps the term masterclass may be too deterministic on this platform but the content thus demonstrated doesn’t fall far short. Repeated viewing recommended to absorb the material.
