@@silula21 the hardest body damage to fix is damage that someone has already tried to fix on their own lol. Instead of 1 or 2 straight pulls without needing to move the tower, this would now be like a 7 or 8 pulls from various directions just to get it to where it should be.
The real issue here is they need some sort of crush zones on that DOM tubing front end or it's going to destroy the car every time.
The front is made to wrinkle purposefully for crash predictability and passenger safety.

I honestly think the last 5 minutes or so of this video is the epitome of a group of guys working on cars. Fucking awesome. The camera panning around trying to get everyones conversations in it was honestly very joyous and i cant even explain how or why it resonates with me, but it does.

i love your body work! when i was 16 i rearended someone with my civic and crunched up the front. i strapped it to a pole and backed up a whole bunch of times and got it good enough to put all new panels back on and your couldn't tell it had ever been in an accident.

I know for sure my own dad would want me to do donuts and more in his car, because he taught me everything I know. Well almost everything. Dad was permanently disabled from an accident at work for the last 25 years of his life. I took care of him those 25 years just like he took care of me as a single father and car guy could.
I sure miss my best friend and dad. It's been 7 years now.

James’s dry humor is completely underrated.
Your "Speaker" Exhaust :) It's called a symposer. It is a tube from the inlet tubing that attaches to a diaphram (to avoid the smell of fumes) then to another tube that terminates in the back bulkhead just below the rear window. If you pull the carpeted panel just below the rear window you can see the tube where it inters the cabin. Unlike BMW where they pipe false sound through the cars speakers the Porsche unit is real engine sounds.
I believe the exhaust sounds through the speakers is called Soundaktor. Audis come with it too, I disabled it in my SQ5 because I like the more genuine/raw sound.
Ford has done it in a few vehicles as well. I know the Explorer ST has it for sure.
To the top with you. Tell Cleet how to disable it
@eddominates at first I pulled the fuse for it, didn't leave a check engine light or anything. I ended up getting a device called OBDEleven so I could just disable it through an app.

Don't weld with those Raycons on awareness mode while welding. The frequency of the arc messes with them. I think it could damage them also.

The burnout boxes in every event look *very* small. Maybe that's where to look, to keep your cars from getting so destroyed.
Bigger boxes also mean more speed meaning more danger and bigger crashes

The way they are doing it is creating chaos and views, and us Americans have definitely upped our game vs Australians, but for various reasons they still have the controlled burnout down pat. There is some engineering going on between wheel speed and vehicle speed and definitely with track width to make their job easier.
I kinda wanna see straight line burnouts for distance as a different class so that the viewers can simply view the smoke show in a way that makes sense.
Back around 1973 Hot Rod mag had a thing on swedish burnouts and there is a classic black and white pic of a 1970 Olds 442 doing a sideways huge burnout show. That same type vehicle happens to be my first car and I still have it 35+years later and I loved doing similar burnout pics from the front, car torqued left and the biggest cloud of smoke just gently blowing backwards, all with like only 500-575 engine hp and alot of torque and tires not much different that Australia uses on 1500+ hp burnout cars.
It's an art form for sure, and in no way am I putting down our brothers down under, in fact I'm saying we need to catch up to the small details of what they do. Cleetus is trying too hard..

@@JohnSaundersPermits the cops aren't the problem, it's prosecutors and district attorney's or people who don't like him that could report him for it and it's all on video, they then get a warrant for his geo location on the video, 50mph over the speed limit or over 100mph is a felony in Florida and I believe filming it is an aggravating factor that most likely comes with mandatory jail time
So basically Cleeter filmed himself committing a felony and I don't want him to get in trouble

a bit of a tip for anyone with a car that needs power to open the doors depending where the battery is located mount an external battery connection under the bumper. you can make a simple angle plate to connect the terminals to and keep them hidden away so only you know where they are . if the car is frame grounded you only need one terminal for the positive and a stud or even just a large bolt sticking out from the frame for the ground. just make sure to scrap off the paint so you get good contact and after it's connected repaint the frame around the stud .

There's no artificial digital sound in the 911. There are passages designed to bring sound into the cabin naturally.
Another system the acoustics team uses to highlight the Porsche sound is the sound symposer. This is not a speaker, but rather a sort of sound path, a line for tones consisting of a plastic hose with a gas-impermeable membrane. That’s how it transports the passionate trumpeting of the intake pipe, for example, into the cockpit. Because most drivers perceive the engine note differently, it’s possible to dial in just the right amount-using a flap valve and the gas-impermeable seal through a membrane that works something like the human eardrum.
What does that mean in practice? As soon as the driver hits the Sport button on the center console, sharpening the responsiveness of the transmission, engine, and suspension, the flaps in the sound symposer and the Helmholtz resonator open to allow unrestricted flow, intensifying the natural sound of the Porsche engine. If the intensity of the sound becomes too dominant, you can switch back to comfort mode and cruise along quietly.
