None of these pubs are remotely dodgy. The Millstone is the last proper pub remaining from when "the northern quarter" was conjured up (previously it was just part of ancoats. Now ancoats is considered to be across the main road.) If you want truly dodgy pubs, you have to leave the city centre. The city centre is safe as houses. Go somewhere like The Winston in salford precinct or The Sparrow in collyhurst

Wow, £5.70 for a pint! When supermarkets are selling 4 cans of draught Guinness for that its no wonder people drink at home these days! The Millstone is pretty much where everyone ends up on a day session. It’s a quality pub. I’ve stayed there overnight and the rooms were clean. Cost me £28.
Honestly none of these seem dodgy at all, in fact they all seem completely fine to me. You want to find dodgy you need to go more provincial, go to a town not a city and find the most run down area and then you'll find dodgy. Preferably look for one that has a clear affiliation with a particular football team. I used to drink in a semi dodgy pub which was pretty hilarious as one side was absolutely fine then the other side was dodgy as fk if you weren't a local in that side you were likely to get a spanking. It would be entertaining to see new people come in for the first time and then go into the dodgy side - most would come back to safety faster than Usaine Bolt with a look of fear on their faces 😂 you only made that mistake once.

I’ve been there I’m a scouser and everything was fine I think it was because people knew I’d win in a fight and I could smell the fear but at the end of the day a decent pint but hasn’t got nothing on Liverpool a much nicer and respectable place

Not many “rough” pubs left in Manchester or most city centres now but if you go back I’d recommend The Old Turks Head at Shudehill that’s still got some character. Also go to some in and around the estates near Old Trafford and the Etihad when there’s a big game on for the overspill of fans without tickets, get a lot higher percentage of proper local fans who are passionate about the divide. The Townley walking distance from City gets a special mention you’ll think you’ve walked into a Shameless episode but they’ll certainly make you feel welcome as long as you don’t go in pro United

You visited some of the old type pubs in the Northern Quarter not been in some of them for a good while - was in town a couple of weeks back on Deansgate - went i three differenet pubs and hada pint of Guinness in each one the first was £4.95 the second was £6.90 and the third was £5.80 a difference of £1.95 in prices can tell you which ones I wont be going in again....wonder what the cheapest and most expensive Guinness is in Manchester City Centre
Yeh mad how it changes so much....there is a 2-4-1 where you can get one for £3.60
You lads need to hit Openshaw or Droylsden in Manchester..characters a plenty lads! 👍
I’ve been there I’m a scouser and everything was fine I think it was because people knew I’d win in a fight and I could smell the fear but at the end of the day a decent pint but hasn’t got nothing on Liverpool a much nicer and respectable place
Been Droylsden before....not for a pint though 🤔🍺
@@Mynameisntjeff147 I got friends in the area so I'm OK...the odd fellows a good place for a cold pint...I live sunny runny Runcorn so anywhere is better apart from Widnes!! 😂
@@honestplaces openshaw more character some good drinking holes..away from the city centre interesting folk with stories to tell..
Do some pubs in liverpool city centre and surrounding areas
Ive just moved up here so any info would be appreciated
It's on the list pal 👍
