I've always loved The Stand because of its geographic scope. I first read it when I was traveling west for the first time, and it really hit home. Plus, the characters were so rich and bizarre. The old film version has grown on me, largely due to the fine actors that were in it. To be able to see a full version with no holds barred is going to be a great experience.

I think she was in a movie with Tiffany Haddish last year. She works every year, but had a falling out in hollywood in the late 90’s. She actually mentions on this show about how she was “cancelled” for about 7 years. She had no work until Barbara hired her. I haven’t seen her in a “starring” role since the 90’s. Glad she stays on The View tho, I enjoy her alot.

Churches should teach God's will, and God annihilated those two ancient cities, with fire, for the gay lifestyle, so what kind of "church" is that? 🔥 Jude 7. I remember the time in his life when Stephen King didn't have a dime to his name, he had to borrow a little money from a friend, things have changed so much for him now. He's such an accomplished author and does his part to donate to worthy causes. I went to grade school with his wife, Tabitha, and have read her books also. I was a friend of her family especially her younger sister, Cathy,, and I spent a lot of time at the Spruce household. Also I used to help Tabitha carry some of her books home from school. Tabitha was a very quiet girl, and she loved to study and read, and would have so many books to take home. My brother played in a band with another man who eventually married Tabitha's older sister, Anne. My brother was lucky enough to get invited to Stephen's house in Bangor and swim in his pool and do a little partying there. It's not often we have such a well known celebrity right here in the area that is just leading a "normal" life.....it's way cool!!!

Ths Shining is still my favourite horror adaptation. Love Kubrick and love that Kubrick did such incredible justice to Stephen's novel.

"Did you see two little girls there?"
King went "shhhh" because that isn't in the book at all, and is something Kubrick made up.
BTW, The Shining from 1980 isn't at The Stanley Hotel like everyone likes thinking. I've lived in Colorado my whole life, and have always been irritated when people think that it was filmed there.
I made a video walk through of The Stanley hotel just so people can see how different it looks compared to the movie that is very loosely based on King's work.

It was filmed on a sound stage in England. Kubrick is British.

Stephen King has a plethora of wonderful books out there, why do they just keep making the same ones into movies and miniseries over again? Let's see some of the long forgotten ones instead, or the fantastic new ones, like "Sleeping Beauties".

When I was a young boy and I loved King's stories I imagined him as a reserved man surrounded by a mysterious aura and away from TV studios like Pynchon or Ligotti, with the arrival of youtube I discovered that he was always on TV. Today I still consider him an excellent writer but the myth of my adolescence is dead. Regarding The Stand I consider it inferior to Robert McCammon's Swan Song
