Right on WESTLAKE!!!!! That fabulous building is 5 minutes from my home! Beyond that, thanks Christian for this perspective on the elusive BALANCE factor!!! Much appreciated!!
I’m at the start of my journey, for sure. I just scored 3 short films for a Uni project which I passed so, in terms of context and current situation, I have achieved success. I got through University with working full time, maintaining a social life, just got got engaged on holiday and everything is going swimmingly. If my journey ended tomorrow, then I would surely say that I was successful. Off centre but successful. But more so, I’m happy.
Very nice! (including the scatological musings of a willie) When I saw this I pictured a 3D pyramid looking down from above because we all like to think of success as been at the top.
Legendary ending. Christian, you provide a deep and constant sense of inspiration, motivation, and wisdom to this journey. I find myself working harder and focusing my goals more, as well as being able to see the big picture more clearly vicariously through the descriptions of your own experience. Thank you!
This was a great video and I really liked the triangle idea, luckily I wasn't eating my tea. I'm very much at the beginning of my career and have said from the beginning I will start at 9, finish at 6. I saw an interview with (I think) Michael Giacchino and he said the same thing, he has a family and wants to be with them so he works hard during the day. It helps me get more done and learn to work faster but still to a high level with having a cut off point for the day. I'm definitely going to use the triangle idea for the next project that comes in, thanks Christian.
Great stuff Christian, have you come across Maslow's hierarchy of needs before? - your triangle idea is a similar one, either way it makes for an interesting read. Anyways....
I haven't, I think my theory is loosely based on my great great grandfather's '3 magnets' from his book "Garden Cities Of The Future" his name was Ebenezer Howard and he invented Suburbia. Gonna check out Maslow though... Thanks for tip. CH
can anyone tell me what the music is at the beginning of this episode, it is the soundtrack of my youth on a sunday afternoon, watching an old movie, thanx and keep being yourself, greets
So good to see you adres this. It's so often i see people bragging about working 10 to 15 hour days 7 days a week. But if you have kids, do you want to be That guy... I have to say i struggle with it too. But i think if i'm on my death bed i'll be glad i spent more time with my kids. Fingers crossed :) And congrats on the Strymon care package, very jealous of that! Love the vlogs
Wow, this is bordering on being quite profound. Sort of venturing into the territory that Connor Freff Cochran used to explore in his "Creative Options" column in Keyboard Magazine. Great work. I like the concept of hunter/gatherers always having the need to keep acquiring (I'd add "accomplishing" to that). This is the reason why the concept of an afterlife in heaven never made sense to me. What's so great about kicking back for eternity and having everything you need provided for you? Seems to me it would be incredibly boring!
In an attempt to make a successful comment here,I was wondering if you could do a show and tell for your recent track 'Come Closer'... there's some tasty haggis-like material in there! ... Beer successfully accompanied by more Beer~Rich

Hahaaaa - and I'm just about to have me bloody dinner!!! All great advice Christian, and this vlog really helps to put things into perspective!
Ah, what a delightfully foul conclusion. Love it.
You are becoming quite the filmmaker. This is one of your best pieces yet.
Thanks again for the brilliant advice once again. Great editing too

Keep in the centre of the triangle!
Congratulations on getting engaged!
Well done man. Awesome
Success is... slagging off a deluxe pedal manufacturer and receiving £2k+ worth of pedals for free in return...
Think we should all try it.
Sell that shit on ebay.

Thank you for bringing such valid information in such a imaginative and funny way!!!
Love the idea of your success triangle to reflect on aspects of life, thanks for sharing!
Legendary ending.

Can you show how to setup the Behringer BCF 2000 to run Vibrato, expression, and modulation on a keyboard ? Love your great videos !

That part in the video where you received a box of effect-pedals from Strymon can only be described in a single word - SUCCESS!
Do you use all that beautiful gear anymore or is it just in the box!??
BEST ENDING EVER!

Lmfaooooo that ending

No man on his death bed has said he wished he worked more and spent less time with his family.

Fucking brilliant. A solid dose of life advice, pedal porn, and rimshots

I think my first "target" will be to finnish a piece of music by this time next week
am I the only one that saw the word Wanking" top left of the triangle??????
I was wondering about that.
No.. LOL
Self nurture?! I'm not sure Christian should add lifecoach to his CV anytime soon! 😜
Nope I saw it and started giggling out loud at work!
Success for me = good life balance x happiness. Nothing about awards or popularity.

Hehehehe.... Instead of "END" you should put "TMI" (lmfao)
