- Mt Kenya is Africa’s second highest mountain and one of its most beautiful. In the video: Four days hiking Mount Kenya following the scenic route Chogoria gate - Point Lenana - Sirimon gate. Point Lenana is the third highest peak (4,985 m/16,355 ft), and the highest one that can be reached by trekkers, without technical climbing.
Mount Kenya is a National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site

I would love to go there some day. Such places makes one feel good to be alive. To breathe the air, to see the high places, the deserts, mts, and valleys.
I went there 30 years ago and there was so much ice there back then.

Best time for touring the mountain is approaching, January to March is the best season to climb and hike around. KARIBU KENYA! 〽️

Reading these comments i wonder if Kenyans know the value of the mountain and the park and lakes in it. it means so much to the world and it is time kenyans take utmost care of this great mountain. Do you know Mt. Kenya is the home of Kikuyu/ Meru /Embu spiritual God? These tribes live around the mountain and they pilgrimage to the Mountain. The Jain community in India also believe their Gods live in Mt. Meru ( Meru is the town on the east foot of the mountain).

Thank you for this video. Very well put together. As beautiful as it looks, it saddens me to view it. During my childhood, those vacant barren valleys were filled with glaciers. The ice cap was visible from hundreds of miles away. I'm surprised it's all gone - all the way up to the peaks.
Thats exactly what science warned us about for over 45 years now. It is so sad that it still is not taken seriously..

I have been seeing these areas throughout my life
I did this hike almost 22 years ago and boy, has the landscape changed, probably due to global warming. Back then, Point Lenana, Nelion, and Batian were covered in glaciers. That's too bad since seeing them was one of the highlights of the trek. On the positive side, I see that the ubiquitous rock hyraxes are still alive and well...
