    Seriously, it's so obvious now, wohoo!(imagine the down if my fix makes no difference...)
    Anyways, thanks for watching! Btw, this was filmed with anamorphic lenses in 12bit raw, transcoded to and edited in prores 444, rendered to prores 422, and then completely destroyed by youtube's compression. Just had to get that off my chest😁

      Looks great resolution and focusing wise(quality)... but the color accuracy to me looks off, there's a ryobi green looking fan in the dyno shot and the red bottles in the background don't look as vibrant red as I think they do in person. But then again your video style for colors being warm is pretty unique compared to other youtubers. Gives your videos a Homey feeling.

      @@2STROKESTUFFING Happy Birthday in advance of Tuesday !!
      ...could cylinder filling issues be from the transfer passages mostly all being well curved and so the inside/innermost surfaces of each passage are fluid stalling from the tighter inner curvatures, into outerfaces smoother flows & killing port speeds with induced port flow turbulence/resonances ?
      ...and perhaps too much tapering along the transfer ports length, bottlenecking the port Venturi effect away from higher speeds and shorter times to flow enough ?
      I am just guessing/guesstimating though

      Yep keep needle middle clip cos remember main jet works from 1/3 throttle to full by lowering clip you fatten fuel at 1/3 throttle also which can create more problems. So best to fine tune main more than needle or go for better tapered needle to hold fuel at half throttle start of power band , but I feel your needle taper is fine go as you said 125 .
      Extend the pipe (primary) once you get first dyno reading , you'll be surprised what 6 inch extra length will make to topend power curve , your new twin pipe motor has longer primaries
      Love it Alex well done

    At the age of 17 I owned a 50ccm Suzuki ER. I put on a 76ccm 11hp Malossi cylinder with 20 mm Delorto carburator. The exhaust was either Malossi or Gianelli. This rig did well but me and my friends always wanted more so we customized and experimented a lot. We created larger exhaust ports, made new fueling ports including new transfer windows in the piston. All this gave more power. I decided to take one of my engines and create a high rpm monster by reducing the crankshaft weights and install high rpm crank ball bearings. This was something I could do at school where I had access to a lathe. With this modification I got more rpms but less torque. I am a big an heavy guy so the change did not do to much for me. I later sold the bike to a much smaller guy and with him the bike became the monster I wanted to create. He got crazy speeds with it. This was now 30 years ago. I time I will always remember. I loved every moment of it. It's so cool to follow you channel and I love that you share your journey with us. Keep up the great work Alex. We all root for you.

    It may seem to you that I am far from the truth, but there are several problems in the engine:
    1) The top dead center of the piston is very high
    2) The resonator does not cope with the gases supplied from the engine
    3) Chain tension needs to be better balanced
    4) The speed is not bad, but the torque is rather weak, possibly due to insufficient compression, the culprit of which may be both the rings and the quality of the deposition in the cylinder or the lack of weight of the cylinder

    It’s running good now! An EGT sensor in your pipe might help you when you’re troubleshooting fueling. There’s a lot of resonance in the long belt run from the case to the transmission.

    • @StrikeEngine
      @StrikeEngine ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A lambda & MAF sensor and a stand alone ECU might also help. (I'm not sure why electronics are being rejected).

    • @malcrandall1309
      @malcrandall1309 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StrikeEngine The problem with all the added electronics is the mass complexity. It all takes time away from building. This engine is unique so you have no data to go on.
      When Alex lowered the crankcase volume there was more progress made there than any time in the past 18 months. Fueling is only one small part of this puzzle.
      The high revs that Alex is searching for is the stumbling point. Zero to 20k takes a lot of doing on a experimental engine.

      @@StrikeEngine o2 sensors die VERY fast in 2 stroke applications due to the oil that's added to the gas.

    • @JamesBalazs
      @JamesBalazs ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@StrikeEngine I do wonder why it's not on EFI. Not like it's a V12, you only need wiring for one tiny injector and a few sensors. Negligible added complexity, almost zero chance of going wrong once it's set up right as there's so few wires. He could just rely on MAP/MAF, no need to bother with O2 if it doesn't work as well with 2 strokes. You only have to get the volumetric efficiency and injector data right once and make small tweaks from there based on logs, seems like it would save a lot of time compared to messing with carb jets for inevitably inaccurate, inconsistent fuelling (with all the servicing and tweaking entailed). On EFI it would gain a bit of power, idle better, better responsiveness etc.

    • @geemy9675
      @geemy9675 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JamesBalazsyeah any kind of engine can benefit added power, reliability,and easier tuning from injection, wether it's port direct or both. if there is indeed something special about small displacement fast revving two stroke , then at least a smart carb sould make things easier

    Great to see the progress and very gratifying to see you’re getting more outside support. One thing that always frustrates me is that you nearly always change more than one thing at a time. While I do realise that you have TONS of detailed knowledge and understanding, I can’t help but think that changing only one thing at a time would ultimately result in faster progress. After all, it’s all about reducing the uncertainty. You do you, Alex. I’m just saying. And I hope you have a Happy Birthday on Tuesday! Try to forget the project completely on that day at least and be totally present with those who love you. Obsession is a relentless mistress. And sometimes she needs to be put in her place. Have a great day on Tuesday! 😊👍🏻

    I believe there are losses in that belt drive marrying the two engines together, vibrates excessively at high RPMs... which leads me to believe it may be skipping a tooth every now and then.
    P.S. Happy birthday, looking forward to the next episode to see what's planned.

    Love it, as per everyone else. Definately time to go EFI so that you can focus on stuff other than carb tuning

    • @geemy9675
      @geemy9675 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah love everything about the channel but the carb issues are really constantly slowing down he progress and filling the videos with more repetitive and less interesting material.
      I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to face always the same problems, or maybe you're enjoying it so much that you don't mind ? I don't know if it makes sense but if it really has to be a carb, having a tuning carb dedicated to Dyno testing that you could alter the richness at different throttle openings and different rpms quickly with screws would be great.

      @@geemy9675 Hello there, if I may just give you my thoughts.
      While carburation problems have being at the forefront of Alex's video's for some time now and many people have commented that it's time for EFI. I can fully understand that sentiment.
      Carburation is only a small part of the problem Alex is facing. This engine is radical in it's design which has lead to many problems that need facing.
      Just look at the progress that has being made since the crankcase volume has being reduced. I'm hoping Alex will be doing port flow testing in the next video simply by blocking transfer ducts with toilet paper to increase gas speed through the port windows.
      Mark Atkinson had similar problems to this several years ago with his projects.

    90 psi seems pretty low. If I remember correctly most of the two stroke motocross bikes I had as a kid always pulled between 160-180 psi with the throttle fully open. I’d say your onto something with the cylinder filling.

    Hey friend, I think we've reach a point in this engine where I think it safe to say there is a need for a redesign of the engine crankcase to now house the gear box to create finally engine assembly
