7 years after the review this game is still excellent and content is still being released for it. Solo or co-op, it is exciting. The scenarios are replayable and difficult enough to feel a sense of relief and accomplishment when you finish alive. Just buy it. Every game is a new story. (Often tragedy)

Hey Tom! When reviewing games with tons of different tokens and cards and so on - like Robinson Crusoe - Could you please quickly make a point about the game box too? Some games are great with their inserts, some have almost nothing at all so you're forced to put everything in bags or make your own system (Descent 2nd edition, I'm looking at you!), and for a lot of people the latter is quite annoying. I personally would love to know what the boxes/inserts look like, thanks. :)
Question for you Tom: How do you teach a game of this complexity and know which gaming group would have the patience and sufficient attention span to hold on to the very end of game explanation? Maybe a video on the subject would be cool.

awesome work! The guy also designed Stronghold and Pret a Porter. Can't wait for him to designing something simpler and with less text (less language dependency). The ideas are great, the implementations could be even better if he makes them more "family type" and mainstream.
It's honestly nice to know in advance when I order a game, if I need to order a bunch of little fish-bait boxes and foam inserts aswell. It's not as much about whether it would affect my decision of whether or not to purchase the game, as it is about the overall impression.
I'm kind of new to gaming so watched the instruction video about the game. My god, 45 minute video and I'm completely lost, I think this is better suited to experienced players to be honest! I was looking for a single player game but it's back to Ticket To Ride with the girlfriend for me!!
furstyferret81 watch the actual game being played. I got halfway thru 45 min vid and I was so lost. Watching the game being played by Watch It Played videos totally made the game so easy to understand.

The event cards coming back and reacting to your choices is an interesting mechanic. It's on my "to play" list, though I doubt I'd get a copy for our family and group.
This game is great fun :) Was lucky enought to get it a couple of weeks ago, but now I see it's out of stock many places. But it will probably be printet again next year(?), and a new scenario (free downloadable) is coming before Christmas.
I enjoy coops and Euros and this looks like a good game that I would play. One aspect I do not enjoy in coops is the "Leader"(one person) taking over the game. I can see this happening in this game.
MAC ARMS LLC lord of the rings if you love the movies/books. Its fairly cheap to buy second hand. One to look into. Its a collectible though. The art is awesome.
Sounds like the Dark Souls of co-op games. Cannot wait to try it.

Haha that part in me that has to always clean up after game night cringes when I see it, but i enjoy how they show pretty much everything in the box...I just wish it didn’t mess with my ocd. 😆

My friend bought this game and I have played it twice, I did the first and second scenario... I wasn't a massive fan (at least of those 2 scenarios) but am going to play out all the scenario's because Tom and Zee like it so much... I'm assuming it gets alot harder on the later scenario's.
I'd love to have this game, ecpecially after watching RickRoyal's playthrough. However, not only is it very expensive, but also not very widely available. I've had zero success of finding a European online store which actually sells it. Too bad... =(

This is my kind of game. Fresh smt. new COMPLEX. I hate playing a similar game with one that already I own (because I don't have the time to play every game so it should be good and not borrows me and fun). I think that this one seems to go into my collection in the future.

My favourite game this year. We bought it at the games comvention in Essen. It' also great for two players which I love.

Mage knights by far. In my opinion any single adult that loves puzzles should buy this game
