Hey all!! Back to Helen's for more, this time there was a couple of times were I though I had bitten off more than I can chew. From drainage issues, weeds and hedges. This one was a challenge! I hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making it. Thank you all for allowing me to help Helen like this, I feel fulfilled and grateful. Have a lovely day wherever you are, Jake 💎
I often ask this question but have yet to get an answer; what is it about English patios and poor drainage? For all of the videos I have watches that show walkways, driveways, and patios, all with brick and tile being cleans, one of the things I notice the most is how water seem to pool up in areas or drain toward an area with very little to no drainage. Since England is a pretty wet country, I'd assume that drainage would be state of the art. But I am not seeing it.
I made it to the worm! I am entering seniorhood, and think that one of the things that is most frustrating for seniors or people whose health has changed so much is watching things that they used to be able to handle build up like that. And unfortunately, even when they accept that they need help, sometimes the people they hire end up doing a half a***d job. -- leaving them even more frustrated...and broke. Nothing is worse than trying to enjoy your property, yet not being able to do (or afford to hire others to do) the big jobs anymore. I think what you do is so psychologically healing that you are actually extending lives!
I got sick and had the same problem, although I am not a senior….yet 😊. Anyway, nowadays when I pass a property that doesn’t look too good and taken care of I know there might be just health or age issues there….and I always feel like wanting to knock on the door and ask if they need some weeding or sth - for free 😂.
I'm a senior (87) and I'm also convinced you have a valid point. I still do my own work but have enough money to take a "vacation" from it by hiring someone to do work for me now and then. I have been surprised by the personal release within me when I do that. Relief is probably the word. Tells me that my time doing anything is growing short. Good work Diamond.
Next door really need to come in and clear their hedging before it does any serious damage to the gutters and roof, the hedge is also blocking a lot of down light. Better for them to clear it now before it's an insurance job. Helen has a lovely garden thank you for making it once again a happy place and safer for her to be.
Stunning difference! Between the hedge trimming and the clean cement, the pathway beside the house is so much brighter and open looking. It all has to be much safer now with all the slippery muck cleaned off. Great job! Hope the chubby worm at the end made it back to his burrow.
Great video, thank you! We live in the US in a desert region, so this kind of moisture and moss/mold is really never to be seen. I think that is why I am so fascinated by your work!! 😜 End results are always fantastic!!
Wow, you did an amazing job on that patio🌻I would have never expected such a colourful patio to show up. You did an amazing job for Helen, even just looking out the window at the results must be very uplifting to her. It really is a whole different place, Congratulations, you have returned the beauty to that exterior.
Thanks so much Rhonda! 😊 I really appreciate your lovely comment! Helen was so appreciative of the work and was as surprised as us at the colours that came out!
Terrific transformation, Jake! I'm sure Helen was delighted with the way those colours are now popping. That little guy must have been excited as well, to WORM his way out of the garden to give his stamp of approval.
Thank you so much Adrian, Helen told me she loved what had been done and it looked like someone else's garden when she came home! So satisfying! I loved it.
Holy moly, the before, and after is amazing! The after picture doesn’t look anything at all of the before picture! You turned the backyard into a gem👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kindness words. I wasn't blown away with the hedge trimming whilst doing it because of the low power, but it really finished off the job nicely!
What I like the most is your fabulous stringing with this battery weed eater. ;) Job well done as the way for the water to escape from the site is very limited. Thanks for sharing.
What a wonderful garden! The colour of the patio is so beautiful. Helen will have a great time with her friends an d family during summer. I know it isn't always easy to step out of your comfort zone, but I think you did very good in your gardening and trimming effort. The small alley is a lot brighter know. I believe the little worm is happy too 🪱
I could see the drainage was the biggest challenge. Have you thought about getting a draining water pump to deal with this problem. I've seen another pressure cleaner use one. Considering the challenges you faced, I think you did a great job. You wouldn't believe the colours were there. I'm sure Helen loved your work.😊
Wow, Jake! What a massive difference! Amazing work. ☺️💎🐛 I don’t know if you plan to do more gardening on your channel, but if you have more projects like this in the pipeline you might consider reaching out to Kress and asking if they might be willing to donate some power tools. They have been a great help for Ben and his dad (Flawless Cleaning). Just a thought! Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Take care. 😊
Thank you so much! I am planning on keeping a pressure washing focus but helping where I can, if that means a bit of gardening... Then let's do it!! I have seen the Kress tools on Ben's channel also and think they look great quality. I wonder if I am maybe a tad small of a channel to ask for help at the moment. Fabulous idea though! Maybe I could buy something to try 😁 I really appreciate you 🙏🏻
@@diamondexteriorcleaning In that case you might just need a cordless pruner saw for thicker branches. ☺️ Kress might be reluctant to donate to a smaller channel, but perhaps you can get a discount. Never hurts to ask. 😉 Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing your next video. 💎
Would definitely benefit from installing a couple of patio drainage chambers and grates to the bottom of the downpipes to aid drainage of surface run off water and from when it is pressure washed in the future
I remember Helen's house from the front. The hedge did need trimming, lost the light, space. Great the patio is going to be getting back on track. Thank you for your work! You made a good try with the hedger. To get higher, you either use a ladder or get a pole type hedge trimmer. You can also use long-handled loppers on larger branches. Overall, it has to be cut back to the fence line, it will grow back out. That far grown out, it was starting to risk the gutter and roof as well. The improvement was worth the work. What a nice surprise that there is such pretty color on the back patio. Looks like some gold was a theme, perhaps in the wall and in the upper patio steps as well as the red/gold checkerboard. Glad to see the White Lichen wasn't able to hold against your lance. There is a lot of backlog you are working on but a cheery aspect is emerging as you clean. At the end, you have a bright, sunny yard and a much more usable and bright side area. Congratulations on your hard won results. The worm now has a neater home...
Cute worm. Your videos always inspire me to get out and do some heavy cleaning of my own yard. Unfortunately I watch them at night and lose some of my inspiration by morning. Gonna do it though. Wish I had a power washer.
Haha oh yes, it's much easier to watch than to do yourself. That's how I feel when I watch these exercising channels. I want to do it, but prefer to watch 😂
Wiggly worm wonders what happened to his overgrown patio! Terrific transformation and I hope Helen really appreciates your hard work. 💖 Wiggly can move right along to the garden
worm , nice work on the tiles. We have a lot of what looks like worms, I live in Arkansas, that my late mother always said were small snakes. They come out when it rains.
I live in Texas in the USA and am constantly amazed at all the masonry people have in their gardens-what Americans usually call the backyard. I live in a part of Texas (Houston) with a hot humid climate and we have different kinds of mold growing on concrete and masonry but never any moss. Well, almost never any moss. I have only seen it on constantly wet soil in intense shade. Most roofs are made from a composite of materials in what are referred to as shingles, and mold also grows on the roofs. I have never seen a white mold. What is that? We have a kind of bright green mold that seems to permeate the concrete and is very resistant to pressure washing. Love the pressure washing videos no matter what part of the world they are from.
You work so hard and the results are outstanding. You need all long handled tools! I'm usually so jelly of tall people, being short myself, but that shovel looked like a beach shovel in your hands. Love your vids, thank you for the entertainment.
Helen needs to either hire a landscaper or apply to one of the free you-tube ones to have the overhanging hedges, etc. cut. Your expertise is cleaning - I wouldn't ask an electrician to fix my plumbing (lol). You did a terrific job - event the worm came out to admire how good the patio looks now!
Worm! I'm glad I made it to the end. I was disappointed with the quality until you took the time to explain there's only so much you can do to combat the ravages of time. Thanks again.
That was beating back the undergrowth, that job. I think getting rid of the overgrown hedging in the alley was the most uplifting result - no longer do you have to worm your way along there. 😉
Worm...I didn't think this garden could be salvaged but great job. Well done. You should try together with another guy and he can do the garden. Cut grass shrubs. Make it all in one. And u definely get more subscribers. Enjoyed that. Thank u. God bless🎉🎉🎉
Well done, Mate! It looked a lot tougher than it would be to nick this one, but you did it. I am sure Helen will be delighted with the result. As always brilliant work!
I hope she orders you again for the house! And the buddah statue, and then to give the walls one round again and a new round for the house 😊😊😊! Amazing job!
You definitely brought it back to bright and usable. Helen can get the fences replaced along with the brick and paver repairs. Always so much harder when the weather is against you too! Wormy just wanted to see some color again!😊😅
Jake fantastic job cleaning the patio and alleyway, the color stones are so pretty, it came so clean. God bless you Jake God bless your Family. See you on your next video.
Hello from Southern California! (up real late, watched a late night movie lol), but I was scrolling on TH-cam and your video was recommended to me and I’m glad I watched. You did a fantastic and awesome job! 😁…I see it’s cold there, not sure if this video was recent or a while back. Since it’s spring, it’s an unpredictable season. It’s getting hotter in the west coast, but not getting any rain till next week, unless Mother Nature changes her mind again. 🤷🏻♀️. Thank you for sharing. And little Wormy likes you, Wormy is happy. 😁🩷
Yes, if I was faced with a series of garden tasks I'd do them in all the wrong order - which can create more work. Bane of my life is grass tufts growing between slabs - crazy paving the worst. Grass clumps whose roots need drilling out of the gaps. And the need to tackle it from standing. I need a large razor blade instead of a shovel blade.
Poor wurm, a survivor 💪🏼 it’s looking great, so bright and clean, the lady must be thrilled to bits 😊 also cutting a hedge, what a great service, what’s next?

Lots of mold
Not only will it look great when done, but it will be healthy with no mold

Power washing cement in a damp country is a mega challenge in itself. It does look so so much better!
Great. I love seeing things restored.
