Wow ! I’ve never seen such strange urinals in my life, I’m not sure if I would even feel comfortable having a wee in one them . The rest of the video was great . Lost beach & bar looked great , I can imagine myself sitting there drinking a few Mojitos . Vietnam officially opens its international borders yesterday not expecting a stampede as our main tourists are China and Russia. Great deals for the rest of us . Thanks for the uploads.
Great vid. We went to PT Hostel in mid Feb for a bike after seeing your previous film and got that bike too. It broke down in the v heavy rain though. Pim was amazing and gave us an upgrade to a much better bike so we ended up renting from her for 2 weeks 😀 Keep up the good work 👍

Thanks for showing the east side: *ISLAND TIP* I just realized the the cool afternoon shade on the east side is preferable for some to direct hot sunlight from and on the west side. Muang Samui Spa Resort is exactly what I was looking for. Big fan and many thanks for the area resort tours.

Being from Vancouver winter is pretty mild but one January just a week after rollerblading along the seawall in shorts, I was transferred to Calgary in -30 and getting a block heater installed in my car (quite a shock for a west coaster;) Love both cities but much prefer Samui esp in winter

Chaweng was the first beach I went to on Samui back in 1994 and I fell in love after arriving at Lipa Noi by the old car ferry, even that arrival stole my heart. I met my future husband on Chaweng in 1996 when I returned to Samui as couldn’t stay away - he was from London like myself, but South London - we’ve ended up in Australia , but Thailand constantly calls to me and hoping to get back there in August maybe. Also, love a ‘bum gun’ and always buy a new one when we’re in Thailand to use at home - current one is broken and miss it terribly, so obviously need to get back to Thailand to get a replacement asap.
Dam those noisy beach clubs! lol. Although for me depends on my vibe on the day but I do love a quieter palm tree infested spot so we can hear ourselves speak.
I was just there in all these places December/January! I want to go back, I’m done with Ontario winters. Swing by Kun It’s place on Bangrak and say hi (tattoo/art gallery just past Kobs)! Also say “hi” to Mark at Secret Garden and get him a G&T for me. I stayed at Samui Pier for a few weeks and it was great! Also I think I spotted a few buddies at Kobs in your video.

When was this filmed ? Trying to get an idea of how busy samui is now as coming out next week for 3 weeks and deciding which islands to go to although I will probably do phangan as well maybe 5 days on each.
I've gotta take motorcycle lessons before going to Samui - seems the easiest way to get around (is there a baht bus option?). I've never ridden one. Are those cycles manual or automatic?
Auto, BUT Thailand is very bad for road accidents and deaths, and Samui is one of the worst places in Thailand, I really, really wouldn't recommend it for a 1st timer! Get the songthaw instead, they run everywhere, day and night. If you want to get a bike, do it on Ko Phangan or Ko Tao instead, it's much safer.
Agree with MrSimonj1970. I drive fairly slowly and always wear a helmet but still get blindsided etc (mostly by foreigners too btw). So not a great place to effectively learn to ride. Also Koh Phangan is more sedate than Samui but a lot more hills and twists. Best to flag a passing shared songthaew (goes around Samui via ring road and costs around 150 baht) or arrange a private ride and share the cost with others. Marine beach and op are nice places, but : low tide = nearly no water and muddy, you have to walk a little bit if you like water... if you take into account this - good place
Thanks johnaeff good point. Oct-Mar has higher tides but Apr-Sept lower tides and yep, once out a couple metres mucky to walk. North Chaweng Beach is on an inland shelf and buffered by Koh Na Thian (+Koh Mat Lang) and the shore, thus not an 'open water' type beach. But like you say, enjoy the sun & beautiful white sand beach sand there, then take a swim just a bit further down, best of both.

Hey bud I know you haven't been back to Vancouver in a while but average price of 1.2 mil is for a fixer upper. It's close to 900/k for a decent house in Chilliwack now. Insanity. 1.2 mil in Koh Samui buys you a top shelf luxury home, even in Plai Laem
I used to ski up at then Hemlock Valley and recall the houses and land out that way were dirt cheap (compared to Van) but apparently not now... Btw, recently came across a channel here of a crypto guy living in top shelf luxury on Phuket, channel name Kyle Chasse (no idea bout the guy just subbed)

I like Samui and the vibe of Koh Phangan. being a crypto guy myself this year is decision time when I plan on buying. I'd sure like to connect with you in some way. The number of places you've been to in Thailand is comprehensive and I learn a bit each trip as to what each place offers.
