Raphael feels like the real final boss, and for that reason I will always tell him the fight will last longer than he does with Haarlep because it's simply factually correct
Honestly in my first playthrough I had a wizard with a few +1 DC to spell gear, and Raphael has quite low wisdom. So I just cast "hold monster" and it was a 100% to work. He moved once and then never again. So it all felt quite underwhelming.
@@bobing1752 i cast Tashas Hideous Laughter on him, but only remembered i had it after he was at like 400hp and the cambions were dead. But it kept him down for the rest of the fight
Exactly right. When Rafael stopped me at the exit I thought "This will be a rough one. I don't know if I can win." Then the song started playing and I had a visceral reaction like "Oh nvm, I am FUCKED."
I saw a comment somewhere saying "When Raphael's song started it was the first time I *genuinely* regretted my decisions in the game* and I agree wholeheartedly. When I first played Baldur's Gate 3, I accidentally made one of the more broken builds using a monk/rogue combo. I breezed through most of the game and still felt chills when Raphael stopped me at the exit. That fight was still difficult for me even with that tavern brawler build 💀
I want to relive hearing Raphael's theme for the first time. I had to stop thinking about my impending death to just sit there and be stunned silent by the goosebumps

Quick tip to beat Raphael's ass easy: have a monk in your party and stun-lock him every round so he can't attack. Use the rest of your party to send the cambions to another hell. Raphael is just a baby if he can't cheat
Also stack 3-4 smokepowder barrels next to each of the four pillars and use scorching ray/fire arrows to blow them up in round 1. Also kills of 50% of the other enemies.
@@aristoeldesarmado Omg me too! The runepowder obliterate all the pillars of souls which honestly helped made the fight easier for me. It's my go-to method from now on against Raphael.
