This has been a staple of my Xmas viewing for many years; apart from short and crazy fun, i love various little details and references in it; i.e. the theme tune being from Cannibal Holocaust and the guy at 5:55 doing a 'The Burning homage'; and IDK, but I'm convinced he sampled Ewoks for the tree talk! :D Home Alone >> Treevenge >> Black Christmas
Considering all the horror in the world around us, I'm so glad to be able to watch a traditional Yuletide family film like this. And with such a happy ending.
This may be a little out of context but what if I told you that the “Dolphin” sound you heard was actually the sped up call of a Australian bird known as a Kookoobara
remember watching this with my grandpa back in 08' at a convention, we still bring this film up every so often. Glad to finally be able to watch it again!
I remember the first time I saw this one, on Vimeo. I was not prepared to the hilarious madness. This is one of the few movies, including Monty Python's Holy Grail, Bad Taste and Evil Dead 2, that made me laugh so hard, I could barely breathe. Thank you Jason, for almost killing me with laughter 🤣
I had been searching for a week, for the right wreath making video. Thanks be to Klaus, I found this video, and not only did it really help me with making a beautiful wreath for my front door, its very informative re: tree care.
One of my favorite christmas films, watch this every christmas. Definitely one of your best short films along side with Youngbuck, that short is fucking awesome!
Perfect Christmas film, especially for everyone having the worst Holiday ever. ;-; BTW: trees should stay in forests where they belong. Forests give and offer us all oxygen, cleared air, quiet, peace, comfort and isolation. That's why they deserve much more respect from us.
on a simple level, you wouldn't have the technology to watch this film unless millions of trees were harvested for energy and shelter over the last millennia to get you to this point.
@@_SuitedWell it's kelp in ocean producing the oxygen but yes. Moss also produces more oxygen than trees with less space. It's much better to plant moss than trees.
Freaking genius! Totally loved this! Happy this didn't get banned!!! I want more please! It felt as being a kid in a candy shop... 😅 I somehow felt bad for the trees... but we always had fake ones since I was a kid... so I guess that I'm ok... 🤣
This could be feature length. I like this, seeing from the trees perspective while it's being decorated.. yeah I guess how that would seem to a tree. 🤣 Brilliant. I also liked the trees voices, they sound cute 🥺.
You know what I'm thankful for? This glorious short film. Have watched it every Christmas for years. So good. So inspirational! Merry Christmas, everyone!
The music in the opening and end credits is to Ruggero Deodato's (and RIP, he passed away recently) notorious film "Cannibal Holocaust" (1980) and that soundtrack was composed by Riz Ortolani.
When James of Dead Meat mentioned this for some reason my mind went straight to The Evil Dead for reasons that's obvious if you know the film. But visually and tonally reminds me of early Matt Stone/Trey Parker very Cannibal: The Musical feeling, good stuff
Mr. Eisner 👁 truly enjoyed this piece of Camp, Canadian, Coniferous, Carnage. As a veteran gore whore it felt like a genre hybrid of Horror-Comedy that is extremely difficult to execute with competency and skill. A Gremlins meets National Lampoon Family Christmas with bonus kitsch. Wherever you are hopefully you can make a spiritual successor to this piece someday. The commentary of the slavish devotion to ritualistic revelry and commercialism often at the expense of what is truly important is food for thought. MAZEL.
When James said head's up, he was not kidding.
You said it 😮🥺
yup
Well, it's more all over the floor than up.
And with that, I will accept my prize of Worst.
Poor cat
That head ain’t up anymore
Wow. James from Dead Meat told us about this short film is no joke. This is one of the greatest and darkest Christmas theme horror short film ever.

I love the 70s style cinematography and coloring choices for this movie!!!

When I was a kid, I felt bad for Christmas trees. Thoroughly enjoyed Treevenge.
Even the baby and the cat and the kid deaths?
Bless you for making and posting this holiday classic!
DON'T BLASPHEME, YOU FREAK!
You call that a party classic?😑
Straight to the ward with you
If I die near Christmas I want this to play at my funeral
Wow. Very powerful message. This disturbing and tragic documentary made me go meatarian
Love that pun so much!!! I am totally a meatarian! 😅🤣
Really?
All it did was made me take a chainsaw to any tree I saw
carnivorous?
Same, I’m an meatarian
Dead Meat sent me here! So glad they did!. This was so awesome. I appreciate how the writer/director just went for it! Very inspiring to be honest.
This needs a full length version. Amazing.
I guess so!
This holiday horror short gave me the feeling that I would never look at a Christmas Tree the same way again.
Thank you for making this, it's been a true Christmas tradition for six years in a row now.

i am not kidding this is one of the best short films ive ever seen
SpookyAstronauts brought me here, and this definitely lived up to the hype! Loved it.
She brought me here too, and I'm so glad.
Discovering unhinged content like this and too many cooks is just one of the things I love about deadmeat
And people say trees don’t have feelings. Show them this awesome film and prove them wrong 🌲🎄
A classic. I watch this every year.
Cheers and Merry Christmas to all
This has to be one of the greatest christmas movies ever made.
Solid piece of entertainment right here. Thank you for bringing Christmas joy and laughter into my home.
Man, this is so much better than that Treehouse of Horror segment “Nightmare on Elm Tree.”
I share this with everyone I know every year, whether they like it or not
Dude , you did a great job on Hobo. It’s a shame you haven’t made more.
My favourite Christmas movie. Thank you!
Please extend this into a full-feature length film. It would be wonderful to see this holiday horror be presented to theater-going audiences.
So glad I subscribed, just to see this tree splatter excellence. Perfect Xmess film.
Probably the best Christmas short that I've ever watched. Merry Christmas 🎄.
P.s. loved the Cannibal Holocaust homage.

Yeah this is definitely something that’s gotta be seen to be believed
Thank you for this quality upload! Looks much better than some other versions floating around on YT.
I wish there's a sequel. If there's one in the works, they should title it Treevenge 2: Humans vs. Trees
This has been one of my favorites for a long time, One of the best. Iv shared this with many people through the years.
All time classic!
Just introduced this movie to my wife. She failed to see the film’s true genius. She is yet again disappointed in me.
Leave her, she's clearly not worthy of a man like you.
This is the best film I've ever seen
Eisener has a bold and interesting style and deserves to have more work financed.
WOW! I was not expecting to see JROC!

Hands down the best Xmas movie EVER!!!
I'm glad my tree is fake.
Every single Christmas I recommend this to everyone I know.
Best Christmas Film!!
I can’t believe I stumbled upon this gem! More people need to see this.
Great transitional Thanksgiving to Christmas type of film.
Officially my favorite Christmas movie ever, thank you
Brilliant nice to see the man the ship the Lexx was named after still going.
The Cannibal Holocaust theme makes it just that much more awesome.
Spookyastronauts sent me here :) This was pretty damn good! The tree through the eyes and overall ending was great.
James wasn't kidding when he said this is a gory movie!
Absolutely loved that. Those tree branches have a mind of their own!
Jason, you made a masterpiece!
The short film that feels like the movie A Christmas Story meets the Evil Dead aFrosty the Snowman vs. Kampus. And Charles Dickens meets Stephen King
I love how this has the theme from Cannibal Holocaust and very similar cinematography in the opening
Heartcolding little film.
This makes me want to cry.
Nothing says Christmas Spirit like pine trees getting brutal, bloody revenge on their human oppressors! Thank you for this masterpiece!
I'd been meaning to watch this for a while and so glad I finally did! Freaking fantastic. Thanks for sharing it on TH-cam!
Remember kids, always make sure to use fake trees for Christmas instead of real ones.
Every Christmas i make it a tradition to watch this
Really love the short film but those trees definitely lost every single ounce of sympathy I had for them in the beginning 😂
