You really do not need the fan fitted, I have run my TD5 for the past 15 years without any overheating, in fact I have only seen the needle over normal when I blanked off the radiator to test it, I live in the south of France where it is 45 degs most of the summer, so you should be OK where you are! Nice clean engine bay you have! Chris B.

I'm amazed! There is definitely a problem with mine, and that's with two fans running!

Just a point, but my problem is with Jugs, the second Discovery! Lollopy is dead.

@@sleepycatpictures1176 That is odd? I have driven mine both in UK and southern France for 15 years now, it is 48 degs here in summer, (only 28 now), and although we do not get the traffic jams you get in UK I am driving slow in the villages, it has never gone over half way, so last week (after changing the alternator) I blanked off the rad, and it went up past normal, I will have to watch the gauge though as changing the alternator I drained the coolant, and can only get 5 Ltrs back in ? Stay safe Chris B.

@@453421abcdefg12345 Hi Chris. Probably an airlock somewhere, usually the heater. My gauge never moves over halfway either, but the engine is not happy. I will fit another extra gauge this weekend all being well.

i suppose you could leave the actual fan off... especially for winter 🤔👍

Tempting but I'd rather have a cool engine than an overheated one. Unless it's -5 all week perhaps and I'd carry the fan and tools to fit it with me.

Hi! I presume you mean the viscous fan removal tool? Available on ebay. If so, that is what it is. If not, message me again. Cheers!
