i prep material by dehydrating in vac chamber with rice or silica pack(absorbs water) for a couple hours, pack tube tightly, i use hydraulic jack handle to super pack tube, yes i can get 180g in my 180g tube:) pack super duper tight lol. Now pull full vacuum on tube and place packed tube in freezer(overnight works best) also put tane cans in FRIDGE overnight. extraction time, get everything ready to extract before you remove tube from freezer since it starts to de-thaw immediately. press cans while valve is closed then open valve while pressing can so not to lose too much pressure, you will know when can is empty by the sound it makes, when your done with one can close valve and start next can, this extractor will take 2 cans to fully pressurize, close valve. Once i get the extractor full i wait maybe 5 mins or so then i slowly release extraction into pyrex bowl. I consistently get 15 percent return on sugar trim, premium shake i've gotten up to 60 g's of extract. hope this helps someone and hope it didn't skip anything even tho i re-read a few times. lately I've gotten lazy and just pack tube and run it with good results, same with larger runs since I only have one tube so the 2nd tube doesn't get the prom queen treatment. Most important is your material, good material beats a good extraction any day IMHO, cheers

also its hard to weigh material before filling tube so i weigh after the run but let the material thaw out a for a hour(still frozen even in the sun) and i get up to 200g so maybe that's where bestvalue calculated that number

Look guys, don't be afraid to let a bit of water drip into your collection plate. You might like what happens, particularly if you freeze dry the product. Some reading might lead you to a solvent that is stable and won't pick up chloro. You could take the top off the column, rinse the veg with stable liquid solvent, press from the top with a good fitting dowel or rod, rinse and press again a total of three times using just a few ounces of solvent per rinse and get EVERYTHING from your veg or keep throwing away 30% of your yield without rinsing. Just saying...

Open blast needs to be done with a flow hood or outside where there is good ventilation....u can literally get blown apart. I recommend closed loop extraction. You get higher yields also because u can create a larger temperature/pres differential

Good video. I have one of these but had now idea how to use it. I was basically using it like a open blaster but with controlled release. My yields were sucking. Next time I will soak it under water in a bathtub with a bunch of dry ice.

    • @thruneee
      @thruneee 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Dry ice makes it hella cold. The boiling point for butane I think is 0 celsius, so making it colder would keep it close to liquid form instead of gas form, therefor you fit more in your tank because the pressure will be lower in its liquid form. Don't use dry ice to make your column colder, Soak in ice water. If you use dry ice you risk making the metal so cold pieces might frost together. just do it outside in January, If you don't live in Canada, maybe wait until the middle of the night so it's colder outside.

    • @LoganCasey-v6w
      @LoganCasey-v6w 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

It is an open blast all he's doing is pulling a vacuum to help suck the butane in and then sitting it in a tub of ice he still releasing all the butane into the atmosphere and not reclaiming any of it obviously not a closed loop. You shouldn't be open blasting anyways not only because it's bad for the environment but because it's fucking dangerous especially when you have stupid people like this showing you how to do it.

The process as I have figured out:
      Build the kit,
      Fill the kit,
Get the kit under vacuum pressure so it will literally be pulling the butane out of the can,
disconnect vacuum, and blast with 1-2 cans, and let sit for 2-5min,
Don't know why you would put in water so I would not do this step, up to you though,
open valve and let drain into your container, I would be using a stainless steal vacuum degassing chamber,
let sit for desired amount of time, (depends on how much you have, more takes longer),
It's safe to smoke at this point but you could put it in a vacuum oven if you had the money for one and make it more "stable", but this step is not needed.
      Best of luck!

if you get the pressure gauge you'll have to pull from the opposite side, in this case the bottom but if you don't get the gauge you can fill your tube, then devac it from any port...then slowly add pressure back into your tube by introducing pressurixed butane. This way when your tube is full you can let it marinate in an ice bath like in the video....this process makes a 2nd and definitely a 3rd wash totally unnecessary.
With the pressurization your material is under while submerged in solvent makes it so you get almost your entire return on that first and only blast...
I'm sure you can run material again and get something but if you pull 20% plus on your first blast (of nug run...trim would be way less obviously) whatever else you may be able to extract will come with undesirables...such as chlorophyll, lipids, etc...
...hope this helps...! Have a great day and stay dabbin!!

I am only fitting about 120-130g's in my BVV 180g closed column tube and I'm packing it in fairly tight, if I had known it would only fit 130 I would have grabbed the next step up or bigger even. Also I found inserting one can and then another while opening bottom valve is much more efficient than the whole ice water bath bull shit - I would be worried about water dripping into my collection pot as well as the extra time to do this.

Kaelan Kaldani I agree with not doing the ice bath . It is time consuming . Also going bigger is better . The next size is perfect . Any bigger I would suggest getting a closed loop .I also started doing the two can process . It's more effective .If you are looking for bigger . The do have accessories were you can buy longer extensions . Would have to buy another clamp to .The weight it says that you could put in there should deff be adjusted . I haven't been able to fit 180 either

I now put one can in . I try to put the second one in but if it doesn't fill I stop. I then put in the freezer for 45 mins . I take out then release I try to release until I see only gas has no liquid . When it's released . It's has an after freeze on the trim or buds so it turns frozen inside the tube . I then flush with the second can .

I'm a nuggrunner too man so I like my 25% returns just as much as you do but he is getting 10 to 12 with trim... not nug...I don't about u but I don't even know what else to do with trim besides making hash...but i can always smoke, sell, trade, etc. an ounce of premium nugs.
      Any of that make sense?
Again, I run nug too always because i think it makes a higher quality oil but whatever i got off of a trim run, when i rarely do them, is all mine and was pretty much free because once again, what else are you going to do with trim?
So yes you have him beat in yield, but your O of nugg had value...it was worth money to start with....and you turned it into 5 to 6 grams of oil...that's about what i get anyway...
And this gentlemen made 10 to 12 grams of oil (even if it does smell or taste a little "trimmy" ;) )from something considered almost worthless, unless your willing to process it.
So yes, you get 20% yield plus from your nuggs that have to come from somewhere so i'm guessing they are not free...even if you grow!
But trim....to get oil from that is literallly like turning hay into gold!!! you feel me homie... ;)?

10% return on a trim isn't bad at all! I've seen people very happy with 5 to 7% from their worthless trim of course...but there must've been some sugary leaf in there to get 10% from straight trim!
      ...
Everybody wants to hate but they also like to forget that nug running compared to trim running is majorly different by usually one thing!.....
Nugs cost money to buy then run! Trim you usually have as excess or someone asks you to run it for them and they give you a nice chunk for processing.....bottom line....
NugRun = $$ into quality oil.
TrimRun = "hay" (in value/cost) into a slightly lower quality gold.
      Good Job Man!

co2 has to be compressed into a liquid. it also would need a separation tank that maintains a pressure lower than the pressure needed to get the co2 from gas phase to liquid phase. if it drops from subcritical all the way to an open atmosphere, its going to shoot out chunks of dry ice. Another thing is the triclamps gaskets and valves arent raited for that high of pressure.

yes. a tank with a dip tube will let you draw liquid up the line and into the tube. If it doesnt have a dip tube then flip the tank upside down so you can have liquid run out of the tank and into the tube.
