This is the thing about a lot of non metalheads, they have a very lyric heavy appreciation to their music. In a lot of other genres, vocals and lyrics are what’s focused on. With deathcore, metalcore etc.. It’s more about the rhythm, the breakdowns, all of the instruments combining into a symphony of hard, fast, music.
It’s ok that you can’t understand the words, that’s not the point, it’s to *feel* the music. To get blown away by the intricate details in every moment, and surprised with original sounds that push the genre forward.
There’s also a lot of lyric heavy songs, and lyrics are important, but the sounds that the vocalist is able to present the lyrics in is even more important.

Two of the best things you can tell a non-metalhead to help them get into it are 1. Treat the vocals like another percussion instrument. With cleans, the vocals are their own melody (most of the time). With harsh vox, they become a rhythmic thing, usually following the drums and riffs. This is especially true for Meshuggah. 2. If they can lock in with the rhythm on the drums, like a 4/4 crash or high hat hit, then they can lock in with the music itself. I've converted most of my friends to at least understand it, if not love it, just from this. Big ups for the Valheim sticker btw.

Have them listen to bands like: Motionless In White, Ice Nine Kills, I prevail, Bmth, Bad omens and modern falling in reverse, Etc. If they listen to them they may actually start liking metal. Arch Enemy, (more) Spiritbox, Jinjer, maybe some Straight Line Stitch or Walls of Jericho would all be great picks for female vocalists. You could even do The Agonist with White-Cruz and Gossow's Arch Enemy, or the fantastic song the latter did with Amaranthe! Loving these videos so much. Always cool to see non-metal fans react to this music. It would be cool for future videos of this type (metalheads paired with non-metalheads) if you could have the metal fans talk about the music a bit more between songs. Happened a few times but I feel like there's a lot of silence after some of these that could be used to help get people into the genre more instead of just shocking them.

you should check out TeddyGrey Reacts. he listen to rap his entire life. never knew metal. His patreon bullied him into listening to some metal, normie stuff at first. But it took him a few songs and he went so ball sdeep he said he felt like he was missing a part of his soul.
and because he only ever knew rap, msotyl lryical content, rhymes, etc. Because of that, he has a unique perspective when he breaks down metal songs on his channel.
then he realized how close rap and metal are, and that a ton of metal is kinda rap with rhyming, but continuous, not broken up.
a few metal Trasks made the dude cry.
thats the kinda thing I like to see. people open minded. and now is trying to bridge the gap between metal and rap.

I don't know any of these people and this is the very first time I get one of your videos on my recommended, but I love this lady with all of my heart and would gladly curate a playlist of "radio-frendly metal with harsh vocals" to give her an easier introduction to the genre... And I literally have zero playlists ever made.
Her literally grooving because the guy she was paired with was enjoying and hyping herself up when she found something she could "get" was so wholesome, and her excitement when showing Hardy (I've never heard of them before tbh) because she knew he would enjoy some parts of it... I would gift her my firstborn son, no questions asked.
