The foreign colours are expensive because of currency conversion from euros to rupees. For people buying it in the UK, this would be quite an affordable product and apart from the original price shipping charges are also applied which would be really high because the product is shipped from another continent.

the winsor and newton he mentioned in this video is not artist grade its a student grade (cotman) that's why its not expensive but their professional line is three times expensive than this cotman even in UK

I don't know about the watercolours, but Winsor and Newton produces high quality pigment rich oil paints. Comparing winsor and newton to camel, is like comparing your garden to a forest. The man in the video tried to be non-biased as much as possible, but winsor and newton's student grade watercolours is much much worse than the artist grade paint. He should have compared camel's professional set to winsor's rofessional set. But as he stated the paint tubes are really EXPENSIVE. So in India you arre forced to use only local companies like Camel and Brustro.
If winsor and Newton had factories in India, then the cost would have been a lor more cheaper. Unfortunately endorsment of art in India is non-existant and art industry here is falling apart, so companies are avoiding setting up factories in here. :(

All Indian products are made are meant to support buyers budget, still give them a decent quality metarials. Not just India, there are other brand of watercolours and art supply like camlin throughout the world like this. Cotman watercolor are super great for begginers. But camlin artist gives its best in that low price. If cotman watercolor were available at that same price than it would be some chalky kids watercolour cakes!" In ofcourse camel watercolours Don't have muvh information about pigments and other additives mixed in it, ot do smell bad. But still no information about whether they are vegan.
Another thing is that camlin watercolour can come in 48 shades of 20 ml individual tube

Camlin is a good economical brand for starters. I have seen that in brands like Daniel Smith or other imported non Chinese brands for professional artists the quality factor is huge. Basically it's like all things in life : if you want good stuff you have to spend more. Camlin has an oily medium in it that gives the work a shiny surface sometimes. And the pigments are richer and vivid too in other brands. Good paper, brushes and colours equals to great work at the end of the day

Since 1995 I have been painting, and I have used the following watercolor tubes brands.
    1. Camel Artists 12-tubes
    2. Daniel Smith 6-tubes
    3. Holbein Artists 24-tubes
    4. M.Graham 10-tubes
    5. Winsor & Newton 10-tubes
I have never used "Rembrandt professional watercolors" but, I suspect this one is the best (~150 Euro).
It completely depends on your strokes and technique. Considering the price with the performance, I must say Camel is number-1.

Liked the video and your thoughts but Seeing from the video in the last comparison side by side w&n looks more transparent and in wet in wet it spreads while the other paint doesn't and w&n was vibrant too but it all depends on the artist and what paint he/she prefers and how much they want to invest in it.
Personally I use cheaper paints as well as expensive ones .. I've learnt how every paint works and how to use it so everything works for me. 🤭

I've used both brands (not watercolours but acrylics and oils) and I've always found w&n better. Since it's expensive, I always prefer to buy uncommon colors from w&n as Camlin is still not over the traditional pigment mindset. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Also, comparing artist grade Camlin with student grade w&n is not fair in my opinion.

I also had doubts about these Chinese made Winsor & Newton colors. They are original, but not the same quality as ones sold in UK and elsewhere. By the way, you are a good artist, the way you drew that butterfly.

Vishal, I came across your channel yesterday and I am in love with the good quality content you make... I'd love if you could compare Princeton Silver black velvet brushes with any Indian made ones... I want to know which Indian brand supplies similar ones.. I am new to watercolor so trying to learn from you all... I am particularly looking for mop brushes... Does any Indian brand has them??

I use camel watercolors for my watercolor paintings. I never used any foreign brands colors for my painting so i can't say the difference but I can surely say that If one practice daily it improves art skills and understanding with colours.

Camlin is very good for beginners but all the professional would still recommend better brands like winsor and Newton professional series, mijello mission gold, Daniel Smith etc because they are archival

W&N is so expensive.. even the student grade color.. But I think W&N ka artist grade water color is better than this.
I work with brustro artist water color and I just love it.. Would love to buy expensive art supplies but only when I'm earning with my art.. Tab tak k lie Sasta aur tikau 🤭

As I am learning about art and supplies from youtube, I went from thinking that all paints which are applied with brushes are same (no difference between water colour, poster colour, acrylics etc) , to believing that the fault is in my supplies after watching foreign tutorials. Now after watching artists making wonderful art in these comparision videos with the cheaper substitutes, I think I need to work from the basics of technique.
