All the relevant info packed into less than 4 1/2 well edited minutes. This is turning into an elite series that's as good as any content out there! Great work!
Awesome work with this series! As someone who wants to get back into magic, more specifically modern since this is what is played at my LGS, these videos are mega helpful. I kept trying to see a short summary of modern decks on youtube but I couldn't find any. Luckily I saw your post on reddit a couple of days ago and this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for making these!
As a hammer player, anyone who is in white and wants to beat murktide should play sanctifier en-vec in the sideboard. It really shuts murktide down especially if you play it on turn 2. And in hammer if they can only remove sanctifier with engineered explosives, then they’re not using ee on 1, which is way more destructive to your board
This content is very helpful for a returning player from the format. I would like to point out that during the latter half of the video the background music peaks periodically when your voice over stops between segments/topics. This is something you are more than likely aware of as the creator, but I wanted to point it out just in case. Thanks for the content :)
Thanks for pointing out the audio issue. I was sort of aware, but from feedback it sounds like it's substantially worse for other people than on my machine, so I'll clean it up for future videos.
Excellent breakdown, as a legacy player it's basically the same deck with a different landbase - I'm wondering how long it'll ultimately stick around as the premiere "MH2 goodstuff pile", lol. Minor note on editing: avoid fading the music back in between voice clips - the gap is so short and the raised volume is so high that in multiple places it just plays one really loud note/hit and is mostly just distracting. Keeping it level throughout would be a lot cleaner (and presumably, easier).
I haven't played Modern in almost a year, but that's enough to remember playing against this deck with burn. Isn't Rest in Peace a little slow, especially on the draw? I have to imagine by then they can easily hold up Spell Pierce. I was thinking more around lines of Tormods Crypt.
I'm starting to play again after a decade off--does murktide's fourth ability trigger when the first instance of it comes into play? Do you put two counters on it for each instant/sorcery? Or does it have to be in the battlefield already to trigger?
It has to be on the battlefield to trigger. If you have enough delve fodder, you can exile as few instants/sorceries as possible with the 1st Murktide, then exile the rest with a 2nd Murktide so the 1st one gets more counters.
First, a bit of a criticism: Please remove the sidechaining from your voice to the music and simply lower the music in the mix. :) Now, for some praise. Great idea for a series! Really fun video.
So just answer Murktide? So it is a targetable Carnage Tyrant.. but you are going against Blue. article Jadine Klomparens wrote delve on how dealing with Tyrant kill Golgari

Thank you so much!! This explains it much better than anything else I’ve found.
Loving the series! Keep up the great work!

a fun interaction is dress down not affecting Murktide's +1/+1 counters ability on the initial delve.
Love it, this is awesome stuff my dude.
wow this is exactly the kind of content i was looking for

Good work Ammi!
Love your vids, but can you do something about the background music going up in volume when you aren't speaking? like in 2:27
Yes, I fix this problem in later videos.
Lookin good!!!
Hollowed One deck next Pls!

Thanks for the feedback on audio. I use auto-ducking and I'm guessing I missed a few spots.

Regarding Spell Pierce, they won't always have mana open and also only run 1-2 copies.

Regarding sidechaining: Agreed. I've been receiving the same feedback and will switch to manually adjusting the audio from now on.
love these videos, but i find the background music distracting. it's way too loud.
Hey Nate, I know the BGM is l too loud in some of the early vids but I correct it in later ones.
