Really enjoyed the day, roaming among all of that wonderful old machinery.. It was like being a young boy again, seeing so many things from my childhood days..
Wonderful machines and wonderful people.. This great day made a great impression on my 10 y.o. grandson who loved just about everything. (Especially the steam train)?
Thank you to all those involved .. A truly great experience...

Hi Gerald, thanks for commenting. The entire long weekend is always so enjoyable, tho when I do these videos, it ends up being like work and I dont get to enjoy it as much. Will be doing a final video with some (hopefully) slightly different perspectives again.

Steamfest and the tramway was created by Chris Martin, son of founding member Peter Martin one of the four original founding members of the Tasmanian Steam Preservation Society and Second River Railway based on Second River Road, outside Lilydale . A great group of people, Jack Shannon, Johnny Allen, Ralph Proctor. People ahead of their time saving industrial history from scap back in the 1960's.

Great work Ted, well covered, really enjoyed the variety of tractors and traction engines. Hay baling and thrashing, the old fashioned way, enjoyed that. Little steam train had good patronage too, only gripe from me was you missed the classic trucks, but they are not steamed powered eh!

Bloody Aussies driving tractors, what next, they were riding horses when I was there in 1955, we shipped the very first TV broardcasting unit out on the MV Port Lincoln Landed it in Melborn then it went overland to Sydney.

Hi from Aust. And fortunately we were a late adopter and subsequently ended up with the PAL system :-)

In years gone by, my travels often took me past the "Second River Railway" on the farm near Lilydale? I was always on the look out to see if the loco was fired up?
