- Warroad, Minnesota is a small town located on the border of Canada. It is known for its hockey history and has produced many NHL players. The town was founded in 1895 by a group of settlers who were attracted to the area's natural beauty and abundant natural resources.
The name "Warroad" comes from the Ojibwe word "kah-bay-kay-nong," which means "the end of the war road." This refers to the fact that the town was located at the end of a major trade route that was used by the Ojibwe and other Native American tribes.
