    I've watched so many of these videos before going to the 6 day selection and none of them mentioned how hard it is there, you need to go there already knowing how to code. We deal with python there but knowing any other language is a bonus. The people working there help when you ask but otherwise you're on your own. They don't teach you how to code.

    The truth is you must prepare for the bootcamp. There's so many applicants. Having to figure everything out on the day etc won't work. Plus your not just graded on coding. The social interview carries alot as well.

    So is the test open book or close book. Will they provide you accommodation for those 6 days or must you provide it yourself.

    Sho bro, how long did it take you to prepare for the bootcamp? and do you think focusing more on the code languages(javascripts, C#, C++,etc) would help?

      Yeah, I only got to prepare two weeks before the bootcamp.I would advise to start the earliest possible.
      Learning the any language would help making you bootcamp process easer.I advice learning python cause that's the language you use throughout the camp

    can you give us a detailed explanation of what was done in the 6 day bootcamp specifically the tools and programs used,tests and what was done in the group project. thanks

      the apps in use as I can recall are edi-flow,slack and (sat exam on hackerrack) oh also hedy-track for python(if you are doing the python beginner track). I honestly can't recall what we did every day in detail. but if you are learning some python on youtube you will incounter some of the activities ( eg. passward generator).

      @@raees2473 Hedy track for python is an easy psuedo-code, which basically teaches people who have never coded before coding. It is very user-friendly I do recommend it for first-timers. To answer your second question there is both a beginner python stream(Hedy) and an advanced stream for when you are applying.

    So you mentioned that in order to be fully prepared for the bootcamp learning python would be great, what else should you learn to prepare?
    Also I read in the comments about test 1 and test 2 can you tell me more about that and if there is any similar tests via websites etc please?

      hey Caleb thanks for watching, but this video is over two years old so my experience might not be so relevant. Do python course from Udemy or youtube and I think you should be fine but please consult their pages for more updates in terms of the course work. The test changers from time to time but if you are a logical thinker, you should be fine cause that is what it tests.

      I am trying to recall the specific test I can't it had something to do with escaping a maize of some sort.

    Thanks for the info bafo! I hope it's not outdated. I'm preparing by using TH-cam and making videos to cement the knowledge myself in order to join this year. I did Computer Science at Uni but it was general knowledge, not exactly programming heavy. Who else is gearing up to join WTC in 2024😃🤩

      Keep learning and practicing until they announce applications.
      Make a good impression on the mentors and other students at the bootcamp, you'll definitely make it.
      I'm more concerned about the online assessment than the bootcamp😂😅

      @@olwethum_n Yes. freecodecamp,Sololearn, and w3schools are some great resources for a beginner.
      But start coding and practicing on your own as soon as your can.

      i am not a hundred percent sure about that I know they refer to accredited accommodations nearby, Just check the website or email them.

    During the boot camp, are all students required to be on campus since slack is one way of communicating or everything is virtual?

      it depends if , you pick virtual or on campus bootcamp option during your application process

    Do you recommend Hedy track or the Python track? Coz I know a bit of python nd im afraid I might get advanced Python when I get there.

      I can't comment on the advanced python cause I only did the hedy track but what would lose when doing the hedy track and polishing on your fundamentals in the Bootcamp. Logically it should make your experience "easier".

      I commuted everyday from home to campus .
      I'm not sure about accommodation arrangements ask in time to avoid complications .

      I don't think it is necessary to apply again I will be getting into programming with other institutions. The exposure did be a world of good in terms of confidence and how to apply yourself.

      unfortunately not, My exam was not the best so maybe that's why but I would really love to hear about someone who made it through to the interview and get they perspective on things.

      I used edx to prepare.. By coincidence I found a course that had everything from Hedy.. I used to do the courses daily for about 3 months

      They teach us the fundamentals of coding while completing exercise and at the end you write a test.

      hey, so the eligibility of South African citizens/permanent residents. if you are eligible to work or study in South Africa. You can apply?
      so if you live in South Africa you can apply?

      Do you have an idea of the type of VISA to get?
      As far as I know you cannot be given a work or study VISA if you have no letter of employment or letter of acceptance from your employers or school.
      So if you know any foreign students who went at WTC ask them for me🙏.

      @@k.i8286 you can do the boot camp from anywhere in the world. You just need a pc and an Internet connection.

      @K.I The Mozishian l think they don’t discriminate, apply , do test 1 and opt for a virtual boot camp , do your interview get accepted and ask for an acceptance letter, depending on which country you are find the requirements for a Study visa from a VFS website. Study visas don’t take that long to come out, 2 to 6 weeks max, Goodluck

      @@raees2473 To be honest I don't know if you can't fail it. I submitted my interview last week Thursday and I have not heard anything from them since. Its straight forward questions though, nothing related to python, its about you as a person.

      The odds are not really in our favour and no I didn't make it unfortunately that's why I also made this video to give people the heads up on what to expect. I hope if anyone watching this made it from the 2021 march group can make a video on their perceptive.

      @@mzansikykandluister702 that the standard looks like it quite high. I don't think its unfair per se but with so many applicants within the bootcamps and a small number that go through. You need to be very prepared and that means only take the best. Look at prince mona in the comments who said he has been preparing for tree months for a one week bootcamp.
