I just saw your post on Instagram. I'll respond in a few minutes
Never thought you were in a wheelchair😮 you are literally an inspiration💕 I'm teaching my little brother coding with TH-cam videos now👑 one step at a time!!! Great video, great motivation
Ahhh man thank you for the kind words 💕. Glad you are teaching him how to code. Teaching is a great way for you to improve your skills as well
Big ups to you. I applied, I am now waiting for the openday and bootcamp. Excited to see what they have in store
Thank you and thank you for watching. Best of luck with the open-day and boot camp. You got this 👊
I applied to WTC earlier this year and I've been waiting for the bootcamp and open days. I've never been this scared to try something new but I've also never been this excited to try something different. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Best of luck and thank you for watching Aphile! I am sure you will do great. Try learning as much as you can on your own online so that when boot-camp time comes you crush it
Doubting it's your first video, you oozing lots confidence, clarity and very authentic💕
Thank you so much for the kind words Audrey. I have been busy finishing my degree. Once I am done mid June I will be back to uploading
It honestly passed me; if you did not say it's a wheelchair joke.. somehow uptight in that area😆. Great sense of humor, appreciate the share and so far this was the best upload in terms of quality (audio & picture), and conciseness for this program I've seen.
Glad you enjoyed it! I will be sharing more sooner than later.
Bro.. Thank you for this.. I needed to see this vid for inspiration more than anything before going for the Bootcamp.. You are my GOAT.. 🙌🙏
You got this Vusi! Thank you for the kind words & taking the time to watch. More videos coming soon so hit that sub button :)
Saw a comment of yours where you said you’d be taking up coding. Impressed to see that you’ve stuck with it and are doing great, and even uploading videos on your experiences. Well done mate - keep up the good work. Greetings from Scotland.
Hi MFaldo C, thank you so much for the kind words! It really means a lot to me. Have a wonderful day further.
I love your attitude! You are so positive, you will definitely go far :)
Thank you A P. I appreciate the kind words

Thank you Sandile, this is exactly what I was looking for. Great editing for your first video.
My pleasure. Thank you for watching Terrence
Great advice and inspiration looking forward to seeing more
More to come! Thanks for watching
Thanks homie this is so inspiring, I'm a self taught programmer though i need more of peer to peer interaction to grow even more... I believe We Think Code will be the best choice for me.
Thank you for the kind words Xolani. Well done on being self taught and WTC_ definitely seems like a great place for you. They want dedicated and passionate people about tech and you are just that
This is everything brother. Thanks for keeping us all inspired and working to the utmost possible to learn and continue to be lifelong learners no matter what! Love this
I appreciate that! Thanks champ, really.
Thanks for sharing! You've Done well to stay focused despite physical setbacks! Power on

Very insightful, hoping to see more vids ;) Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching champ!
WOW interesting...I am also interested in the software development field and I would love to join the bootcamp but the problem is I am still 16 years old and I am from KZN but I will do more research....thanks for the video
Hey Smakelo
Being 16 years old is not a problem at all. Start learning on your own online and when you decide to apply you will do well. There are many students who are from different parts of South Africa so being from KZN is not an issue. Good luck!!!
@@hellosandile
Thanks, I am trying to learn online and I hope i'll make it when the time comes.
Im 16 too and live in joburg
sure bhuda, I would thank you firstly for sharing your store and experience you have about weThinkCode.

Thank you for watching🌻🧡.To answer your question not sure yet, but I would like to upload at least 2 videos a month(1 every 2 weeks) for now until I find a schedule that works for me to upload consistently.
damn bruh those entry tests kick ass bruhh! lol!
It happens champ lol. But you can always apply again. If you really want to start a career in tech, start learning on your own so that when you apply next year time you will be successful. Thanks for watching
Great video!,Thank you for the insight.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice one Buddy - bring on the content
Thank you so much Daddy Cool. I will most definitely keep the content coming 🧡
Thank you ❤️
You’re welcome
Thank you for this Sandile, you really detailed everything I wanted to know but I'm still kinda nervous lol. I applied and I've been given the opportunity to take a open day test and I just don't wanna mess it up. Any advice for a potential wethinkcoder ? 🤞
Hi Tameem
Thank you for reaching out and well done for getting invited to take the open day test. My advice make sure you are well rested. There isn't a way to really study for the tests. Just do your best and remember persistence is key. I would also recommend taking a free online introduction to programming course will help. Good luck champ
@@hellosandile Thank you man. I truly appreciate the advice, really. Everything of the best to you and your future goals champ 💯✊

Appreciate it! Shout out to the Umuzi.org family🙌🙌🙌
Hi Sandile. Thank you for the content, loved it. I came across your videos because I am prepping myself to do the online games at WTC application process.
How many students do the accept per cohort?
That is awesome and good luck with your application process. I really do not know the actual numbers however I do know the Jo'burg takes more than 100+ a year and then there is the Cape Town campus as well
Just passed my first 2 tests! So anxious for the bootcamp... :(
Hi Lutho
Well done on passing and no need to be anxious about your bootcamp. Yes it will be a lot of learning and hard work but it really is a fun experience. Make sure you have nothing else going on in your life and you commit all your time to the WTC_ bootcamp and you will come out successful. Best of luck and maybe see you on campus soon
@@hellosandile Thank you Sandile.
Uhm... is there anything I should do or prepare myself for in the meantime?
Hi Sandile, or anyone under this video. #WeThinkCode is opening up a campus in Durban this year(2021) - the bootcamp is in April. I was wondering if you could recommend anything i should study or read up on so that i nail the entrance exams
Hi Lungelo
I would recommend taking a free online introduction to programming course and focus on the programming concepts. Best of luck
Where about is it located Lungelo? I'm also interested brvh please help
@@tshepangmolefe9743 Actually attending the boot camp start of next week, it will be mainly held on the UKZN Howard campus
@@ushaymamba yohh man this is wonderful, how can I apply for next year? I want to do it next year.
@@tshepangmolefe9743 I'm sure u can just go apply on their website
So how's accommodation do they provide you good money for accommodation
the internship is 4 months each year over a period of two years?
hie Sandile, I Applied last night and wrote a test and apparently l passed, l was given a link to book a date for the 6 days bootcamp, now my confusion is lm reading comments and people are talking about the second test😩😭🥺 did l miss it or the test is written at the bootcamp, please help Sandile🫂🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Hi Samu, congrats on passing the test. You have nothing to worry about. We Think Code_ in my view is consistently changing its recruitment processes so I would not be surprised if they only have 1 test. When I joined we did 3 tests and a 4 week bootcamp. So do not stress about that. Just make sure you give the bootcamp all your attention and energy and I am sure you will be fine. Good luck
Which date did you choose for bootcamp?
@@hellosandile thank you so much my brother 🥺🙏🏿🙏🏿🫂🫂
Hie @@keamongwamba7908 28 February? You?
Good day Sandile
I follow "mybroadband" & get news from then via email. Just now I was looking at their headlines then managed to click on a link that took me to WTC & finally here.
Long story short I did 1st year IT, passed java but I quit the course & did Financial Accounting reason being Information Systems was just too much theory(looking back now I regret why I didn't push HARDER).
Two questions:
1. I don't have internet connection will I survive the course?
2. Is the course structured in a way that it's full time/part time basis?
Reason for my 2nd question is I'd like to find a side hussle to sustain an internet connection from home.
Regards
Hi there
Thank you for watching and apologies for responding so late. To answer your questions: 1 - Yes, if you do not have internet you will survive the course because everything you need will be provided to you on campus. 2 - It is a full time 2 year program. I would recommend spending all you time here learning instead of building a side hustle(in the beginning at least).
In my view it really is a great and the best place to start your tech career in South Africa. Best of luck
Hi Sandile....any advice on how best to prepare for the bootcamps?....maybe material I should familiarize myself with....I’ve never coded before
Hi Ivan, I would recommend taking a free introduction to programming course online from websites like edx or coursera. Focus on the concepts rather than the language however, try find one that teaches in Python. During bootcamp they will teach you everything you need to learn, just make sure you have nothing else going on in your life and focus purely on We Think Code_. Good luck, YOU GOT THIS!!!!!
That test 😭😭💔🥴 jeeez
It is hectic but I am sure you did well. Best of luck
@@hellosandile I passed it. I’m going to boot camp. 💃💃
I'm currently waiting on bootcamp 🥺
any advice for me on what I should learn for bootcamp?
Well done on making it to the bootcamp. The only advice I would give someone who is about to start bootcamp is make sure you have nothing else going on in your life during that period. Give it all your attention, plan your rest, work hard and don't consume anything that will impair your mental state. Good luck!!!! You got this!!!!!!
THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU.
WHAT CAN I DO TO PASS THE REGISTRATION PROCESS?
Thank you for your question. My advice would be to make sure you get a good night's rest the night before you apply or take any entrance exam. Make sure you are relaxed and do the best that you can. Persistence is key!!!!!!
@@hellosandile OKAY CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ARE THE ODDS FOR A HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUT WHO IS PASSIONATE ABOUT TECHNOLOGY AT WE THINK CODE
@@giftbonganimadloba422 the odds are the same for everyone. High school dropout vs university graduate. Talent is equally distributed even though opportunity is not. If you are passionate and are willing to keep learning and putting in the work after failing. Success is guaranteed eventually champ
@@hellosandile THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY REALLY APPRECIATE IT AND GOOD LUCK ON YOUR 2ND YEAR. I CAN'T WAIT TO BE THERE.
Very insightful, what to expect during the selection bootcamp? Will there be games similar to the application process?
Hi Tionne, thank you for watching. What you can expect during bootcamp is to be challenged however, it is a lot of fun learning new things. Just make sure you have nothing else going on in your life and you give it your best shot. Good luck
What do you mean ‘Nothing’ my man? Are you referring to having spare time like not working or you mean you shouldn’t be thinking about other things like you should clearyour mind during that process?
@@ofentsemoatlhodi200 I mean both. So you will not have spare time so do not take on part-time work and you should do anything you can to clear your mind as well doing the process
Oh thank you for sharing this man🙏🏽. So basically the boot camp prepares you for work environment, the discipline💯.
bootcamp starts monday I'm so nervous
thank you for sharing but can i ask if those 3 test u have to take before u go to bootcamp do you need a little expreciencee into coding?
Hi Morebudi. Thank you for your question and the answer is NO, not at all. To my understanding the games are designed to check someone's aptitude for programming but anyone can learn how to program in my opinion. Good luck
@@hellosandile thanks
Hey Sandile are you in your second year now or you are done there at WTC? I'm asking cause you said you'll come back but you never did...well at least video wise!
Hi Jerminah. I have graduated from WTC_ and currently working. It has been a bit hectic mentally hence not creating videos, however, you have just lit a fire under me to get back. I promise to share more videos soon about my experience.
@@hellosandile Thank you for responding and yes! please do come back.
Hi Sandile, Im 21 years old I passed the test and now waiting for bootcamp, I only know how to code in python and experience with machine learning, SQL so financially I'm disadvantaged. I'm really worried how I will travel to school so are there any bursaries that can accommodate student like me and I also need a mentor
Hi Sheron, congrats on passing the tests. I am sure you will do great. So WTC_ is free for qualifying students and they do assist with a stipend for when you are accepted into the institution. I cannot give complete answers as I am a graduate not a student any more, however, I would recommend giving them a call to get accurate answers. They also have a mentorship program as well so you will get one once you join. All the best
hey, I would like to complete the test but I am having a connectivity problem. Do you think they are open at Joburg
campus?
Hi there, I have no idea. They have a contact number listed on Google. Maybe try that. Good luck
Wow dude you need to give me tips for my internship experience video.
Sure thing man! Anytime.
🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝
Thank you for watching Alex. Hope you found it useful.
Hi bro, just wanna ask if there's a set number of people that get selected after the boot camp selection process?
Thank you for your question and please understand this is my opinion, WTC_ is always the best place to get accurate answers. WTC_ is searching for the best tech talent in the country. So in each cohort they take in who they think is the best or candidates who show that they have extraordinary potential. So there is no set number, if only 15 are amazing, they will take 15. If 200 are amazing they will make a plan to get all 200 candidates
Hy sendile I want to apply but before I need to know what i need to learn do that I can get in
Hi Tebogo. Taking a free introduction to programming course(websites like edX...) will always be a good idea. Regarding how to prepare to get in, from my knowledge the admissions processes changes so I cannot give any meaningful insight on that
I actually have a couple of questions I would like to ask you. Is there a way that I can reach you?
Hi there
You can text me on Twitter or Instagram @hellosandile
Hi bro, I'm so interested in Software Engineering and I've been looking out on WTC I really want to apply. I have no background information or knowledge about coding and all that...so is it going to be that hard for me?, as you say there are no lecturers and teachers
You do not need a background is software engineering. WTC_ will teach you everything you need to know so don't stress about that. All you need is the willingness to work hard and succeed. Good luck!!
Will there be coding puzzles during the selection bootcamp
Im also interested in knowing what we’ll be doing in that session😬.
I honestly do not know. They are always updating the process. Best of luck though
Hi is wethinkcode online learning or campus face to face learning? .........................heheheheheheh
Hey Gabster
So WTC_ has a Jo'burg and Cape Town campus where students were required to come in when attending the program but now with COVID times we are all learning and working remotely. In the future I think WTC_ will have online learning resources for anyone how believes they are "Born to code" 😃
Hi, could any1 provide info on how the interview works?
Hi there, so the interview is conducted on a particular platform. They will share that information with you closer to the time. I know that if you have issues with the platform you will be able to conduct the interview on campus.
@@hellosandile I think if you passed the bootcamp you're already accepted because you demonstrated all 4 of their core values. This interview is just to get to know you right?
@@raees2473 I cannot say for sure so take this with a pinch of salt. What I do know about We Think Code_ is you can be the best programmer with a terrible attitude and you will not be selected. In my opinion the interview is part of the process to be accepted so take it seriously(be honest & authentic). They use the interview process to tell if you will be a good fit for the community
@@hellosandile I see because it was just general questions, no right or wrong answers. I just expressed myself abit and went according to their 4 core values as I did in the bootcamp
So we being taught how to program at the boot camp?
I am sure you will be learning how to code, but bootcamp is so much more. Just make sure you work hard
@@hellosandile so there is no way I can prepare myself?
@@KeePee-r6e I would recommend taking a free online Introduction to Programming course to familiarise yourself with programming concepts
@@hellosandile THANK YOU 🙏
@@hellosandile which language do they use ?
When does the bootcamp usually start?
Normally from January however I cannot answer that during these COVID-19 times. I would suggest getting in touch with WTC_ on their social media platforms
Does the campus accommodate students? And are there costs?
Hey Gidy, WTC_ does not organise accommodation for students, this is something that you will have to sort out yourself. There are dormitories that students use close to campus. Thank you for watching
Hi. What programming languages did u use during the 2 year program?
C, HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Java. We Think Code_ has moved to an improved curriculum so I know you will start with Python and move to Java
@@hellosandile thanks man
Hey Sandile bro, i just registered and managed to pass the tests! But my biggest worry is the fact that i matriculated in 2011 and i did Maths Lit and computer science requires mathematics, and i heard from your video that you were doing Finance. And the other thing is i only have matric, couldn't further my studies, so basically what i want to know from you is do you think i should pursue this or not? Thanks for your response
Hey Emmanuel
I understand your concerns but trust me when I say that anyone can learn anything if they are passionate and work hard. Fun fact about me, I really did not do well in my matric year which was in 2007. So it was more than 10 years when I decided to take make that jump. You are never too old to study. If you want to make a difference in the world using the power of computing I say GO FOR IT!!! Best of luck champ
Now you can come code me an app and we can be rich and i can pay you minimum wage and love🤣
LMAOOOO, where do I sign?
I sent you a DM on insta, please respond :)
I Pamela, I just did. Hope it answers all your questions
