That is one sharp RR. Fantastic! Back in the mid seventies my best friend in high school drove a '70 383 pistol grip four speed RR. That car was wicked cool. He later owned a '69 Charger RT, '73 pistol grip four speed RR with a 318...Go figure. When he was in college he bought my brother's '70 Dart Swinger 340. I think my brother cried when he sold the Dart. Later my friend drove a '70 440RR and a'69 RR 383 convertible. He now has a 2017 Challenger TA. I have a '71 340 Chalenger convertible. She has been sitting my garage for 15 year's. Yeah, I know, I should have never let it sit. I am motivated to get it going soon. I also have a 2009 Challenger RT with only 14,000 miles on it I bought new in '08. I hope to get a Barracuda or GTX someday before I die. Mopar fan for life.
I like it in it’s original way you guys got it. Glad to hear it will be kept that way and showed off. I’d like to see it parked in between other fully restored roadrunner or roadrunner that were never driven. As an example of a truly driven American muscle car.
Damn no update on this thing in two years. Hope you still have it and are enjoying it. Honestly who cares what people think of what you are doing with YOUR car. You are keeping it very original otherwise, that's all that matters. Not like you are putting some wack wheels on it. Sound deadener seems like a good call. probably protect the floor a little bit. That thing is fuckin beautiful, wish I had one. Absolute dream car. Love the colour.
i was 15 in 69 and already a car guy .. i remember about 10 roadrunners guys had and two chevelles and one 428 mustang .. the mustang wiped the street of all of them .. nobody had anything with a hemi in it or a boss429 .. one guy did later get a ls6 454 chevy but he blew 3 engines before his 90 day warranty was up ..
Just an absolute time capsule you got your hands on, they are only original once, glad it`s staying that way, I would do a cut and buff and you would be suprised what a steam clean and detail would do to that interior, I had a 70 road runner 383 air grabber car, and cruise nights that floor was so hot your feet would sweat, the dyna mat is a good call, and they don`t sound so tinney, not many people checked the box for a hemi on these, they were cheap no frills cars, I believe the hemi option was 5 or $800 bucks, that was a lot of extra cash back then, let alone what it did to your insurance, I will ne happy to follow along, what were the numbers on 69 hemi road runners.
MAJOR Updates coming soon on the Roadrunner! Still waiting on Engine to be finished up. Covid complications have made things hard but we are very close. VIDEO COMING SOON!
I would like to come over and help you clean (for FREE) but live too far away. Here are a couple helpful tips. Go after the water soluble dirt first. Water and soap (Formula 409 or Fantastic) brushes then clean fresh water rinse with sponge or hose. After this step WD-40 with tooth brushes to scrub will remove the petroleum based stains. Wipe with paper towels. Try this on the top of heater box. You will be amazed!! After the WD-40 step switch to LPS 1. Reason is this product will not attract dust like WD-40. The WD-40 is a great solvent for cleaning almost everything under the hood. Horns, starter, distributor, fan blades, you name it. This is a FUN job you have here!!! Keep us posted.
I believe if you took it to a buffer or had it color matched..lol crap I don't think that's what it's called, but I believe that paint could be saved and perhaps look almost new. What a great find wish you luck..🇺🇸 MURICA

It must be a very late 1969 car to have come from the factory with Polyglas GT's. 1969 Factory tire is normally a Goodyear Redline. Polyglas GT's were first adopted by Ford midway through '69 and generally adopted by mopar in 1970. "Early" Polyglas GT's generally don't have the size in white letters on the side either. Curious that this car doesn’t seem to have a Dana 60 in it with a hemi, unless I wasn’t seeing clearly
Dana 60 was an upgrade with an Automatic hemi but the base option was 8 3/4 Chrysler Rear End. This car is a Factory 8 3/4
Has the car got a 8 3/4 rear under it? Or did I see that wrong?
Yes factory 8 3/4 chrysler rear end

Maybe I missed it in another video, but shouldn't that be a Dana 60?
4-speed cars had the Dana; the 727B Torqueflites (this is column shift) came with 8 3/4" Chryslers.
@@easygoing2479 Roger that. I assumed all HEMI cars were a Dana 60 by default. Looks like they could be upgraded to a 60, but only standard on the 4 speed.
Yup... straight from the broadcast sheet.. Axle code 594, which is a 3.55 8 3/4 chrysler rear end
The 440 6-pack package cars(A12) came standard with Dana60 regardless if 4-speed or auto.
For now, Because the original owner put a set of tires on years ago... that might to better than a set of reproduction tires.
