I love watching you tubers talk about my home, especially when I get to learn doing it. I had no idea our costal black bears actually had adaptations for the water like extra webbing, that’s so cool!

I've been kayaking there and was fortunate enough to see a mama with three cubs. They are very skittish and disappear before you can get too close. Same in my own province of Quebec: They take off. Bear encounters happen when people surprise them (forget to make noise on a hot afternoon when bears snooze in berry patches, get between mama and babies or are stipd enough to leave traces of food in tent or around campsite instead of storing properly in a tree away from camp.

When I was in Yosemite I was walking passed a building and around the corner I met a black bear less than two feet away. Scared the hell out of both of us. We both jumped high up and ran away.
@@sen7826 If the wind is blowing the right way. For anything to smell you (dog bear, cat) air that past you must also pass the bear. Also, this bear was in an area full of humans. The smell of humans must have been everywhere.

Now the pabdemic is lessening and summer is around the corner; I hope you take a road trip to Yukon and NT and exlpore the aninals and plants there. You have gone to Alaska, but happiness is found in yiur own backyard; and you have highways that go up to the Arctic and there is fantastic National Parks up there.

Black bears really are best. They live almost everywhere, aren’t bothered by people nearly as much as other bears, almost DEFINITELY won’t attack you, eat pretty much everything, and are fun to watch without being very scary. Their cubs also seem to me to be the cutest, but since I live in West Virginia I’ve only got personal experience with them. I saw a grizzly in Wyoming once and in Colorado once, but they were really far away and that’s just where I wanted them, haha!
Danielle: Hiking up into the forest to find bears. Meanwhile not too far from where I live the black bears have already been venturing into people's pools (with their cubs as well). I like to joke that you know it's summer when there's a black bear in your pool.

Compared to inland black bears it looks like they carry a big melanism gene, their snouts and underpaws are even black, it's super cool :0
They are the blackest black bears I've ever seen. Though their cubs still have the characteristic lighter snout. I guess they get darker with age.

My favorite movie as a kid was "Milo an Otis" And there were so many black bears in that movie. I think that's why they are one of my favorite animald

Black bears really are best.
