I've been kayaking there and was fortunate enough to see a mama with three cubs. They are very skittish and disappear before you can get too close. Same in my own province of Quebec: They take off. Bear encounters happen when people surprise them (forget to make noise on a hot afternoon when bears snooze in berry patches, get between mama and babies or are stipd enough to leave traces of food in tent or around campsite instead of storing properly in a tree away from camp.

Now the pabdemic is lessening and summer is around the corner; I hope you take a road trip to Yukon and NT and exlpore the aninals and plants there.
You have gone to Alaska, but happiness is found in yiur own backyard; and you have highways that go up to the Arctic and there is fantastic National Parks up there.

I always enjoy your videos! Yet, it seems that you've used a picture of an asiatic black bear in the thumbnail - which seems a little odd, since you're talking about black bears in Canada.

Black bears really are best. They live almost everywhere, aren’t bothered by people nearly as much as other bears, almost DEFINITELY won’t attack you, eat pretty much everything, and are fun to watch without being very scary. Their cubs also seem to me to be the cutest, but since I live in West Virginia I’ve only got personal experience with them. I saw a grizzly in Wyoming once and in Colorado once, but they were really far away and that’s just where I wanted them, haha!

If you ever wondered how strong these animals are just note how easily they toss those huge rocks to find their food.

Canada has bears everywhere, i see em a lot while working. Sometimes they're in your way, fking about down a path, yell at them and they run away

Danielle: Hiking up into the forest to find bears.
Meanwhile not too far from where I live the black bears have already been venturing into people's pools (with their cubs as well). I like to joke that you know it's summer when there's a black bear in your pool.

Sun bears aka Honey Bears. Fun fact! The Rareware character Banjo from the video game, Banjo-Kazooie is a Honey bear.
