I can’t imagine watching someone’s whole journey and getting to know them and then unsubscribing once the journey is done. I’m here for the long haul! Good luck on your next steps navigating life 😊
That stove looks cool! I’d be so tempted with a French press because I love my coffee! I was excited to see a video from you and I know you know by now that I’m sticking around! 😎😎😎Can’t wait for the next one!
I have never thru hiked but after what you have experienced and accomplished it makes sense that going for drinks/dinner may not be satisfying at this time. Don’t beat yourself up too much for not knowing what to do with your time. Enjoy the peace, the quiet, listen to your thoughts! Should you decide to return to work sooner than later you will miss the peace and the quiet.
Sweet Sube, I like this garnet red. I agree, the all-in-one stoves/pots are overkill for distance hiking, but great for car-camping and short overnight/weekend hikes. I think it's the intention aspect of longer hikes that discount the all-in-one systems, the opposite of a car camp or short hike that is open to instant gratification.
I think you should head out to LA and get into making commercials, TV, movies, documentaries. You and the camera have an affinity for each other. (Except First do the CDT.)
You are back! Glad you are adjusting well. Task master…resonated a lot. I think you are on the right track with work, age and thru hiking again. Volunteer in your spare time, it’s very fulfilling. Hike your mountain for the sake of hiking and being out and keeping muscle engaged. Maybe go overseas to hike on your vacation time, that would be fun to see. Best of luck to you. 🥾🥾
I am staying subscribed. One of the reasons I watch adventure videos is to see how different personalities solve problems. I see you as a organized planner. Something I also see in my 71 yr old self. Sometimes, people criticize me for that behavior. Usually a friendly criticism. Anyway, I also enjoy watching Wingit on the AT. A different lifestyle that I want to experience. Or at least add to my crazy planning self. Good luck to you. Would really like to see your dog on a video.
When you hiked solo on the PCT I felt a sense of freedom. You were not keeping track of anyone. It was enjoyable to see you experience freedom from the dynamics of hiking with others. Happy trails.
I’m not a doctor nor do I play one on TV but I have dealt with what I thought was a tight hamstring. I tried stretching and foam rolling etc. Nothing would get rid of it. Turns out my right glute wasn’t do the work it should and the hamstring was compensating for it. The hamstring wasn’t tight but overworked. The stretching and foam rolling was actually aggravating it. Single leg deadlifts helped me. Try watching some videos on high hamstring tendinopathy
A cafetiere here in the UK rather than a French press . I will be hanging about as I'm just nosy about other people's lives, especially when they are not in the UK. Interesting to hear how you are adjusting to non trail life. Birdcall and Bossba'e were also talking about the post hike hunger. Good luck in looking for a new career and hope you find a good life/ work balance that allows you to set some satisfying goals in your life. Your videos of the PCT scenery were some of the best. I miss the anticipation of seeing where you all had got to. and the stunning views. Best of luck.🙂 Dog pics please.
Some people find purpose outside of work doing things like Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels or something similar. Meet a lot of great people and it does a lot of good for people in need.
I'm staying subscribed 😊 I enjoy ur personality Chap and I can't wait to see what you do in the future no matter what it is. Again, I'm proud of you, it is a monumental achievement 💪🌟 take care of urself!
I am here for the duration! I too have a Forester and her name is Sally. 😊 Love it! Great rode trip vehicle and for car camping. I have the Jet Boil system. Thanks for sharing post trail life vid! Look forward to what’s next. ☮️
Great discussion point on running and how it relates to through hiking, maybe for a future video. Weekly milage and long runs etc…Thanks for your content enjoy your after PCT through-hike content.
Holy Ruby the Suby Lil'Chap!! Nice car, I'm so glad you're home with your Dog! That's awesome! Thanks so much for sharing your contents on this video! Looking forward to seeing your future video's! Congrats on finishing the PCT!! That's a huge accomplishment in my opinion. Thanks Lil'Chap! -- Shybee
Hey Lil Chap… Any way to do some type of vid about how you used FarOut on a daily basis while on trail and ESPECIALLY how to navigate planning the day for miles, campsites and how to figure out and use the app regarding coming into resupply?? I never see anyone address this. Thanks!
Thanks for the update and gear review. You might try the run-walk-run method. I have run 2 marathons and 3 half’s with the Gymboss wrist band interval timer. I love my Outback. Hike on.
As a retired government employee, I recommend sticking with a government job. I may be thinking small, but there’s nothing like a steady government pension. It was good to see your face again! Will we get to meet your dog?
LOL...Just bring your kitchen sink next hike...😆 but seriously... I wish you luck with the job search and as a retired person, it's the Inflation that ruins all your plans... you can never have enough money saved for the future..
I finally caught up as I was gone for two weeks. For the hamstring- do you stretch before and after the run as well as foam roll! The foam rolling will help a lot. Maybe can make a sleeping set up in Ruby the Sub so can travel and sleep in your rig.
Have you thought about ultra running? Lots of thru hikers transition to it because you can do it while staying at one place and working. It will give you a goal and take you outside.
Do you feel like working life is one chapter, and long distance hiking is another chapter that cannot be mixed? Some jobs(I don't want to say career, because job conditions just depend on the company) are project to project with a defined schedule. Other jobs are just a steady process where you serve a specific function so that work inputs and outputs through you. Either way, don't let the "job" dictate your life. Be secure with your job skills that can be applied and are in demand wherever you live. Your health, lifestyle and pursuit of hiking is most important.
Ruby is pretty! Will you be car camping with her? I think you’re tall so maybe she’s not long enough for you to sleep inside. Sounds like you’re doing a great job figuring things out. Thanks for the life update and product review. I’ve discovered that I prefer carrying 2-4oz fuel canisters when one is getting low and my current pot system can fit them both. Do you think two would fit inside of this new pot?
I’m not a huge fan of the OT. It feels like a trail with no soul since it goes it different directions and isn’t even connected. I should hike it all since it is in my home state, but it just doesn’t excite me.
* TH-cam thinks I made a big mistake and still offers you up as a suggestion. I didn't realize how much I missed your Goooood Morning! *Resub confession/my Jeep Wrangler is Ruby.
For hiker hunger, eat more meat and animal fat, i.e. bacon! The fat is what will keep you satisfied, and the meat will keep you from getting hungry. Eliminate sugars and carbs that spike your insulin and keep you wanting more. Just my suggestion.
You know the saying. There's many that have done one of the trail There are some that have done all three There is none who have done two of the trails and isn't planning to do the third. Kinda of surprise that you seem to be not interested in the CDT.
I said "You need a hobby" while watching and my knitting just lost a stitch that ran 4 or 5 rows down a lace repeat. Not sure I have enough awake brain cells to fix it beyond halting the ravel. ugh
I can’t imagine watching someone’s whole journey and getting to know them and then unsubscribing once the journey is done. I’m here for the long haul! Good luck on your next steps navigating life 😊

Taylor, was thinking the exact same thing, I feel like I kinda know Steven, Hammer and CC, will stay sub'd!
I love all the post trail videos and the type of emotions/thoughts hikers struggle with.

Still here! And yes, what you have done is a major accomplishment and far more interesting than life off trail. I’m sure it’s difficult.
Miss you!! Nice car! Hope you keep us updated on your life!!

Glad you're home with your dog, family and new car.
Good choice on Subaru Forester. Best snow car I have ever owned. And we get plenty of snow in mountains of NE Washington. Nice update.
Sharp looking car, loved following you on the PCT and will definitely continue to subscribe to your channel
Good to see you. I will be sticking around as well.
Wow! You lost 30 pds !😮 Good luck on finding the right job and your purpose and mission! 😅

It's great to see you, Chap. Seems like things are going well. I'm looking forward to your upcoming videos.
I'll continue to stay tuned! Excellent videos, thank you for sharing your hiking journeys
I know your heart is with the AT. Have you thought about assisting with trail repairs caused by the hurricane?
I’d like to, but it is about 9 hours from me and I’m halfway working on finding a job.

I'm staying!
Never even thought about unsubscribing. Looking forward to whatever comes next!
Glad to hear you’ll keep videos going. I enjoy when threw hikers show life after the trail. It’s all part of the journey..
Enjoy following your journey whether it’s on trail or life in general. All the best to you
Congratulations, thank you for sharing
Always keep the subscription!
Love the videos!!
Looking forward to the CDT videos!
I've got my eye on the CDT but have to do the AT again in 2027!!
Unfortunately I think I need to work for awhile.
As a retired government employee, I recommend sticking with a government job. I may be thinking small, but there’s nothing like a steady government pension. It was good to see your face again! Will we get to meet your dog?
I’ll have a federal pension regardless. My dog has been on the channel a few times in the past. I’ll do some videos of an adventure with her soon.
Better choice than the truck … you joined the ruuuuu squad with me 🤣
Hope you’re doing well, Steaks!
Hey great to see you . I love my subaru crosstrek
Let’s check out that Subaru Lil Chap
Looked at firemaple and came to same conclusion.

Me and my dog are hiking the AT and the PCT all in one year, back to back. I'm so glad i have a dog that was made for this sht. Haha
That is lucky. The vast majority of dogs do not do well thru hiking.

I’ve discovered that I prefer carrying 2-4oz fuel canisters when one is getting low and my current pot system can fit them both. Do you think two would fit inside of this new pot?
I ll likely do some car camping, but not too often. I don’t think two fuel cans will fit with the burner inside the pot.
Go do some Ozark trail and record it!

Forester

Do you maintain contact with anyone from PCT trial ?
Yes
Learn to knit!! Takes your mind off things. Keep your hands busy and your mind will quiet.
I second this! Crochet or knitting is very relaxing and therapeutic! You can donate your projects to many different organizations in need! Win win!
