Amanda deserved so much better. It's like as soon as Jessi entered the show they started making everything about her and her drama and angst and issues. It is so annoying I can't even get through season 3. And it's made even worse that I'm guessing Amanda wasn't well-liked by the fans of the show (even though she did nothing wrong and was nothing but open and trusting and kind and got nothing but heartbreak in return). The writers wanted to bring the drama, but they pushed it WAY too far.

Season 3 totally kills me coz lori and Declan should be together and Kyle and Amanda blatantly still love each other so I don't get why they can't just make it all work out!!!
Amanda was his true love. Jessie was a pest - hated her. She was a trouble maker. Even though it was never actually stated, it seemed like Amanda knew about Kyle - she didn't really question his abilities. Jessie was desperate and let's remember she fancied Declan first until she was "altered" to fancy Kyle.

They were of the same kind and they could understand each other better than anyone else.They would have always be linked in some way.That is what being a soulmate means...it doesn't necessarily mean they would have been lovers:soulmates can also be friends or maybe even enemies or have another kind of relationship.Jessi&Kyle are soulmates but I too can't forget she was attracted by Declan,sentimentally speaking, before they pushed her towards Kyle BUT she could"feel him"naturally even when she had no personality yet,she drew him etc and that was the"soulmate part"...they were connected setting aside everything else.
Ultimately, Julie Pleck stated that Kyle would have ended up alone, but ideally, Jessi was a better match for Kyle. I know this has been said ad nauseum, but Amanda really was "puppy love." Jessi was perfect for Kyle, though, because she was the only one like him, yet his complete opposite at the same time. She would challenge him in ways Amanda wouldn't. And as much as Amanda may have cared for him, she never would have been able to understand him.
