I was living in Okinawa, Japan when this awesome single came out. I was 14 at the time in 1996, I remember seeing this on BET Video Vibrations I still have this video recorded on tape. You dont see many mainstream Asian singers and I just think he is amazing
Ghost In Japan, he is very well known. He has sold over 20 million records in Japan and is known as the “King of J-Pop” or “King of Japanese R&B”. He brought Western music (American) to Japan. That’s why many Japanese are singing like us (Black Americans) and wearing their hair like us. He also has a man over-appreciation for Black people (which as a Black person, I love)
@@JLPerryTV fr? Damn that’s very impressive I didn’t know that, I think he’s seriously underrated and deserves a lot more recognition and I do appreciate araki for shouting this dude out in Jojo.
Ghost It’s a shame that Sony didn’t promote him well in America. His first English album “Sunshine Moonlight” was straight up 🔥. If a Black singer would have put out that album, it would have been huge success. Same with other English language albums “Nothing But Your Love” and “Time to Share”. I believe he wasn’t given a fair chance in America but he was Asian and no one who was Asian was crossing over into American radio.
I'm a jojo fan but i didn't even know jotaro liked him lmao i just typed "just the two of us Japanese" to look after japanese translated cover of this song

1996... such a definitive year for R&B and Hip Hop

Grover Washington's saxophone solos would've made this a masterpiece. Nonetheless, this is a great rendition of one of his well-known works.

Kujo Jotaro approves this song
First time listen to this song on 1995. Still love it.
