I am finally back to eat some of the most famous and delicious street food in the world! Today we cover what is most loved for both locals and foreigners when they visit - Banh Mi.
It is fusion food between French and Vietnamese, there is hundreds of different variants and I will bring you to some of the best spots to find delicious Banh Mi.

I really miss the banh mi xiu mai with the broth. I can go through 2 loaves of bread to make sure I don't leave any broth in the bowl :-) All of these locations are great local spots, especially the grilled meat locations. I also miss their mayonaisse too.

You can try Vietnamese food in China town or Vietnamese community, there a lot of them in the US. So, no reason to not come back to America

But it's not that Vietnamese cuisine or other countries ones aren't good in US. You can have them so you will have the good impress and come visit...

When I was in Vietnam, 1966-67, the banh mi kept me alive and well fed, since I was on an account for food. I had a banh mi cart near my apartment building and which gave you a choice of 3 different choices, and the most popular. On pay day, I'd treat myself to one of the Vietnamese French style ones, and probably way better than most French restaurants in France; at least it tasted great! :) I also liked the Seafood restaurants and one called Hai Cua which if you could finish the two crabs they served, you could get another crab if you wanted it :)From the crab/cua restaurants, I experienced the simple salt/pepper lime juice dip and can't eat shrimp or crab now without it :)
Vietnam and Thailand have lots of happy and polite people and great food!
I'm kinda impressed that you actually attempted to pronounce it as "bánh mì" in southern Vietnamese accent instead of "bang me" like most foreigners do. Thank you.

They don’t allow vendors to sell street food without permits. You have to pay a certain amount of whatever to sell stuff. The cops will literally come.
It's about the ingredients too, in the US it is hard to get the same ingredients like here in VN
