    A lot of people are pointing out the obvious Austonesian influences but there’s some clear Bantu ones as well especially in Accent and Tone but many of the words seem Africanized too compare to there Malay counterparts. If it wasn’t for the vocabulary if I heard this from my far I would definitely know it’s from Africa but if someone from Indonesia heard it the accent will throw them off but they would know with the person is trying to say that’s crazy hmmmm very interesting 🧐

      Their final vowels also sound quite Bantu.

      * Austronesian influences *
      Sorry I have to correct you, because what have you just said is like saying that Italian "has some Romance influence" or English is "Germanic-influenced". Malagasy is an Austronesian language not "Austronesian-influenced" for God's sake. It has simply some Bantu, Arabic and later French influence, mainly in loanwords.

    The "v" here sounds a little bit like an "f" from my malagasy ears but it's actually like a "v" but overall the pronunciation is very good!

    it seems there are some silent vowels here and there, or perhaps reduced vowels?... H is sometimes dropped also... the Y at the end of a word is sometimes like an EE sound, but sometimes it is like a very short EE sound, or softening the previous consonant... is it?

    • @ThatBernie
      @ThatBernie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes that’s right! The y vowel often is not a full vowel, but rather shows that the previous consonant is palatalized!

      Arabic influences via Indonesia!!! The Malagasy language used to also be written in Arabic letters too
