Before there the Trans Siberian Orchestra. There was this and Randy way ahead of his time. In fact I could see Randy leaving Ozzy and conducting stuff like this for Trans Siberian Orchestra
Randy was a one in a life time true master melodic phrasing. I don’t believe he could have played without phrasing’s that sound like people having an intelligent conversation or the perfect answer to a clever question asked. His melodies, tone and every wild sound perfectly placed in the piece left no doubt in the listener the emotional state of the people having the conversation and asking or answering the question. There are countless guitarists who play faster and a superior command of theory, but his melodic phrasing and the sounds he used to perfectly punctuate everything he played, no guitarist has ever come close, but how could they.? He had a musical sensibility and ability to anthropomorphise music that will never be achieved by anyone ever because there was only one RR period.
I honestly don't think he couldve played this again note for note, music gets a lot harder when you're analyzing it and the only way he'd get this thing charted out before making it obsolete with something twice as good is if he had different people transcribing each minute of the jam all at the same time within a period of about 1 day lol
Which come to think about would've been really cool if that was a thing he did, I know Zappa had Steve Vai transcribing his solos at one point (which explains a lot), just wish it was more common for rock musicians to do that
Yea they did, but Sharon osbourne won’t let any of it out. She wouldn’t let the guy that did that doc. About Randy have any of the concert footage. I guess she’s afraid somebody might make a dollar besides her. Makes me sick !! All the footage of Randy is in her possession.
@DaisyR-9-2-3 She truly is a piece of work, Randy's work belongs to Randy, he was a teacher and he would of loved for people to learn from him. She's nobody to withhold this from fans.
@@james-b7j7v The guy that done the documentary said that in an interview. He was wanting Randy’s footage but he said he could not get her to budge on it. She would not let him have any of the concert footage.

I started playing the guitar when I was thirteen since I listened Randy's guitar. He has been still my best guitar hero! I listened the band jam part of Brad played from the "Speak of the devil" video. It made me imagined how Randy played the part. Finally, I listened the part played by Randy!! I really appreciate to the person who posted it!! Thank you! Sorry for my poor English. Hopefully, it willl be understood. From Japan.
I wish somebody would’ve recorded Randy Rhodes trying out for the band with Ozzy when Randy said he was just tuning up and Ozzy said he got the job 🎸 It’s been killing me all these years ❗️❗️ to hear what Ozzy heard that was so shocking to Ozzy .. if anybody knows of that recording if there was one please leave a link in this comment ❗️🤘🏼 Rock on fellow guitarist 🤘🏼❗️
What a pristine touch this man had for the guitar. I just got done listening to a bunch of 80's shredders solo spots like Vinny Vincent for example, who was trying to play similar to this. There just isn't any comparison and I don't mean to single Vinny out, he was just the last one I heard before coming here. With Randy, he just didn't play for the same of it, hitting repetitive licks just to show his speed. Every note counted with Randy and were never randomly flung in there. Where someone like Van Halen was the mad scientist, Randy was more akin to the genius professor.
🙏🎸🎸🎸🙏Randy Rhoads I was young and got to be a part of Randy❤ area then it must’ve been wonderful for you as it was for me I miss those great wonderful times all these young bands growing up as we were it was fun and I would do it all over again some of the greatest are gone now some of them fell short as they didn’t get to live out there legacy one of them was Randy Rhoads What could’ve been? ❤
That Solo was sick!! To bad I didn't get to see it live!! Had tickets for Diary of Mad Man, but Randy was killed right after I got the tickets!! It was a brutal day when he was murdered by that sick bus driver!!! He should still be here!!!
Well duh Randy was a musician first rockstar 2nd he was always trying to improve his skill and for Eddie was the opposite of Randy that why he peaked on Van gaylynn 2
This solo was supposed to be on Tribute because it comes from the same recording that a bulk of the songs were recorded from - Cleaveland in May of '81- but you can clearly hear the edits on Tribute, and even though Suicide Solution was from Cleaveland, Randy's solo was from a show two months later in Montreal. Those of us who collected bootlegs over the years recognized the solos were from two different shows. In fact the Cleaveland show was actually released on a bootleg vinyl in the early 80s called Bat's Head Soup- as I have a copy. But as another comment mentioned- this recording sounds clearer and more complete than what's on my vinyl copy. Like I do not remember hearing the keyboards linger on at the end of the jam after Tommy Aldrige's solo. I'm intrigued and will now have to go back and pull out the vinyl to see if I missed that somehow. Anyhow, the solo switch never made sense to me because the Cleaveland solo was much more precise and on point than his solo from Montreal. I can only guess why the Ozzy camp thought the Montreal solo was better- maybe because it was longer, but any Randy fan can tell the difference and I honestly think Randy would have preferred his Cleaveland solo if he would have lived to produce a live album with Ozzy.
A segunda parte do solo é do speak of the devil. Possivelmente mau editado. Está parte não tem nada a ver com o RANDY. Nessa época, o Guitarrista era Brad Guillis. Façamos justiça.

Favorite solo over all. Totally polished and shreds. Very fluid
Randy better than the rest this is for sure...
This always makes the hair on my arm stand straight up. Simply brilliant
You and me both! Seen Randy twice with Ozzy! I’m very Blessed to be able to say that!
I had the great pleasure of meeting Randy Rhodes. Yes, he was that good. Rip my friend I loved your music.
Was he a nice guy
He was supposed to come here in Buffalo in April of 1982. We had tickets but sold them.
True artist, true genius. Rest in peace Randy and thank you for everything
you can see how the Solo area improved from 81 - 82... Randy was really smokin on all this music just before.. sad day

I've heard some _very_ impressive stuff from Gary Moore and Yngwie as well, that was recorded earlier.
