I just love Jerry! So glad he's a major character. So... 6 year time jump. A lot has happened. We'll be given insight to the back stories as time goes on. Can't wait for this season to play out. Another rollercoaster. It's amazing how the writers work in how life changed through time. They didn't leave it as if nothing changes. Somewhat realistic as to what would happen if it were real. Well Ta ta till next time. 🙋
Fun fact the actor who plays Henry is the older brother of the previous actor. Their sister played Sophia, so now all 3 kids of that family have been in the walking dead!
Everything she wears when she is introduced and throughout is pieces of her family. Hat-Rick and Carl Shirt-Lori and Carl (in later seasons he was always wearing plaid) Gun-Rick Sword- Michonne She even wears little cowboy/girl boots just like Rick wore.
Judith is not wearing one of Lori’s plaid shirt she’s wearing a plaid shirt that looks like Lori’s. All of their stuff got left at the prison. Welcome RJ, Rick and Michonne’s son
Cailey Fleming who plays Judith is an incredible young actress. Made me cry so many times throughout the show. Definitely makes Judith live up to the standards we had from Carl. Yes the other kid is Rick's son. RJ (Rick Jr)
In the new group Connie is the deaf woman and Kelly (The one with the short hair) is her sister Connie is actually deaf IRL and Kelly is losing her hearing IRL
It’s always interesting to see people’s first reactions to Magna. My first impression after looking at her eyes was always sadness. She looks like a stray puppy that’s seen too much and just become a little bit hopeless. I never interpreted her as hostile or dangerous but rather as someone who isn’t used to letting her guard down for the fear of being unable to protect the people she loves. The second she took Judith’s hand and walked through those gates I felt like that was a big moment. Notice how she never let go of Judith’s hand. I also love how she always speaks in a low tone, almost like a whisper. No Magna’s a softie like Jerry and no one will be able to change my mind on that. It hurts a little when people are so hard on her for being just a very kind and mild version of Rick. Never judge on appearances guys!
I remember back when Magna was 1st introduced I found myself defending her a lot. People were really on her case. But like you said, Rick n co. Were the same way with the "We'll just take this place" additude. She's sad n obviously been thru some shit. I've also always like her.
@@debhorne150 Haha yeah same for me! I always defend her actions to my friend who doesn’t like her as much as me. I’m hoping Rob and Trin will grow to love her because if I were ever in a zombie apocalypse then Magna would definitely be one I’d want in my group.
@@indigomoon4991 Yes! I would love that too. An origin story following those five and how they ended up together. Maybe some footage from Coalport too. It would be really fun to see.
Yes, the young actress who plays Judith is amazing. Getting ready to get into some pretty dark stuff with this arc and the first of it is very horror movie like. Talking walkers? We'll see!!!
I absolutely love this episode, it was a good one at reassuring me the huge improvement with Season 9 was here to stay and it’s start of some of my favourite villains of the entire show And the actress playing Judith is perfect for the role, she perfectly captures Rick and Carls essence while also having Michonnes influence You might already know this now but the time skip was 6 years
IRL while Ezekiel and Jerry filming became best friends and Jerry asked Ezekiel to marry him and his future wife. Ezekiel got his license and married them. Amazing for real life
One detail I always love about the time jump is Carol's hair. She kept it short because her original husband would beat her and use her hair as leverage to grab her, but now that she's with Ezekiel and everything is calm, she grows it out long. Showing that she's extremely comfortable with Ezekiel and her current situation.
While I loved the first 5, this one was especially good and reassured me that the show was truly back to what made it great and the whisperer arc is one of my faves and to me one of the best adapted of the show. They didn’t overly drag it out and Alpha and Beta were perfectly casted too
Even after 6 years, Carol is still part den mother and part avenging angel with blood-tipped wings. Also, Cailey Fleming (Judith) is the actress that played young Rey on Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
I also love how Carol is always quickly and efficiently eliminating any threat! Terminus, the wolves invasion at Alexandria, these saviors. She continues to be amazing. Such an interesting character. Do not mess with her!
We’ve seen that Judith likes to help people I think that’s why we’ve seen her talking to Negan I assume for the past 6 years she’s been talking to him and bringing out a better side of him.
I love that Henry immediately notices the ring back on Carol's finger. I screamed when Carol pulled up to Daryl's camp and said, "Need a ride stranger!" It was a nice surprise at the end of this episode.
So much has changed. The babies are growing up and we have lots of new characters to get to know. Im not a big fan of change but i ended up really loving this season. 🧟♀️🧟♂️
"And look how great everything turned out for you" This was the perfect "I was thinking it and she said it" moment for me. Knew I'd love this character after that. ❤❤
This young actor playing Judith is awesome, she is so talented for her age. I am so looking forward to you seeing what the deal is with those whispering walkers......mmm, so good.
6:58 He's not the same actor, it's his brother, thats why they look alike. And both Henry actors are brothers of Sophia's actress in real life. So Carol has been a mom to all the Lintz kids haha
oh they have no idea what they're in store for. This season is sooooo gooood! Also the actor playing Henry is played by the brother of the boy who played younger Henry.
I always thought the water tower scene was a big slap on the forehead. Years into this epidemic and people still breaking legs to walk slower than walkers.
Jerry is awesome, he carries the show with his smile :P all jokes aside, jerry is a beacon of light in the apocalypse, much like what BOB used to be :)
Matt Lintz and Macsen Lintz, Henrey, and young Henrey, are brothers. They are the sibling of Madison Lintz who played Sophia Peletier, daughter of Carol Peletier in the first and second seasons of Walking Dead.
My favorite moment was the Negan/Judith conversation. Not only did it reinforce just how much I love Negan's character, but it instantly made me like the young actress playing Judith... and when I first saw this episode I even commented "I would watch a whole episode of just Negan and Judith talking about things."
The actor playing this version of Henry is the real life older brother who played Henry previously last season. And their older sister played Sophia in the beginning.
the older henry is actually played by the younger henrys irl bigger brother and get this if u didnt already knew, they are irl younger brothers to Madison lintz aka carols daughter sophia! kinda cool :)
I love this version of Henry nil, I cant wait for what’s to come seriously , funny how magna group are like ricks when they first entered , we also wondered about taking over the place lol
This episode is spectacular. We get so many reassurances that even tho Rick is gone, the show will continue to be epic. I LOVE Judith, that actress is amazing. She's so much like Carl - we know those Grime's kids never stay in the house or do what they're told lol. The new group is strong, Carol is still a bad ass, this season is one of my favorites.
Rob & Trin I just subscribed to your Patreon and found out you guys have full reactions to the walking dead but are way ahead of the youtube version. I still love the youtube version though.
I absoluterly LOVED seeing Rob turn bright red during "Jerry's" cameo. You guys are the best and most real people on TH-cam. All the best from Central Iowa, USA.
Magna was just being cautious just like how Rick did with every place that the main group as encountered, it's no need to hate on her. I would do the exact same thing of trying to hide a weapon on me if im going into a new community that seems too good to be true. I wouldn't talk about trying taking it over or trying to start anything but im damn sure going to be ready for anything if I need to.
No, it is NOT the same actor playing older Henry, Rob and Trin. Matt Lintz is the older brother of the actor, Macsen Lintz who play young Henry Sutton and the younger brother to Madison Lintz who played Carol's daughter Sophia Peletier in SE1 & SE2 of the series.
I didn't realize how lost one can be about the missing characters of Rick and Maggie, without outside knowledge, cause when we watched it live, AMC straight up told us these characters are gonna be gone!
People give Magna way too much crap in this episode They were on the road for 10 years Of course she is gonna be mistrustful Remember Rick in Season 5 with Aaron and Co lol
Exactly! No one said anything like this about Rick in season five! Magna showed zero signs of hostility throughout this entire episode. Yes suggesting they’d fight she did but that doesn’t mean she would’ve gone out and killed people left and right. I personally loved Magna from the start and still do. Who wouldn’t be protective of their group in a new environment with strangers and yet she listened to her friends and let her guard down in that last scene, proving that they’re none threatening people.
most people went wild in the first months of the outbreak. magna is a model of restraint and sanity compared to many! i wonder what happened to the group in coalport too...wasn't that the name of the place they mentioned? is someone like the gubernator? another negan? nothing good anyway!..

This is the start of the new Bad Guy of the show so get ready the 2nd best bad guy of the show below Negan, just amazing. As many times as iv watched the whole show over and over like 7 or 8 times now the show never gets old even when I know everything that happens haha
Carol grew her hair because she now feels safe and secure in her relationship, she had short hair before as that husband she had used to pull it and grab it. I still think it’d a silly idea though as in fights against humans and walkers they can grab it easier

I've saved your season 9 reactions for this episode I'm about to binge all of them
yes you heard them talk LOL
6 years after since Rick left.
Fun fact the actor who plays Henry is the older brother of the previous actor. Their sister played Sophia, so now all 3 kids of that family have been in the walking dead!
I was just about to type that! :)
No way I never even knew that 🤯 that’s crazy
And they all played Carrol's children.
lustrous how'd you not know that someone posts that comment in every reactors chat
their OTHER sister is Mackenzie Lintz, who starred in Stephen King's UNDER THE DOME
"Don't let them get away." One of the most horrifying, chilling sentences on TWD, especially when spoken by a walker.
Everyone notices that Judith has the hat and the gun, but it often gets overlooked that she is wearing what seems to be one of Lori's plaid shirts
Never caught that!! I love that they included Lori, I feel like she is a forgotten parent of Judith.
Everything she wears when she is introduced and throughout is pieces of her family.

Feel like cailey is better than chandler as far as child actors go
listen I quite like Carl but chandler riggs is not a very good actor
I really don't like Judith, she is just annoying
Cailey is hands-down the best Child Actor in TWD Universe. Her and Cassidy McLincy
