    I think this is one of the best videos I've seen on how to use an Adobe product. TH-cam is full of videos that show people how to learn some techniques by just following steps, with no explanations as to why or how they fit into one's design goals. This one goes much further, explaining why, for example, so many anchor points can be a treacherous tactic, or why some quick fix can end up infuriating a client and staining one's professional reputation. It's true, the video can be long for some people who just want to learn something quick and easy, but for those who want to go further, and make experience a tangible and enduring skill, this video shows a lot of promise for what else these creators can teach. Clear and precise, fluent and unassuming, it wouldn't surprise me if they end up creating their own teaching company. Thank you for making quality content!

    A video on using the pen tool would be great, thank you. I know quite a number of people who hate using it, and people who say “It just takes practice “. It does seem to require a very steady hand and a small twitch of the hand can have the curve of the path flying off wildly.

      No problem Stephen we'll work on a new video on this which will hopefully up soon 😊 It's definitely a very divisive feature it seems. I think it's one of those that once you have the hang of it it really opens up what you can create in Illustrator but getting to that point can be tedious! Hopefully our video will help 👍

    After using image trace, I almost always got to object > path > simplify and play with the settings to reduce the number of anchor points as much as possible without compromising the shape of the object. You can usually get a result that is more or less comparable to what you would get if you had traced the object by hand with the pen tool.

    • @GraphicDesignerPRO
      @GraphicDesignerPRO  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the Simplify option can be very useful to refine image traces, great tip 👍

    • @grumblycurmudgeon
      @grumblycurmudgeon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup. In the case of having the glowy text there, yank it into photoshop, adjust its levels, ratchet up its Brightness/Contrast, colorIze it, desaturate it, then re-import it back into illustratror. NOW trace it and simplify. Bam. Done.

    Hi. What are some good ways or resources where I can practice these techniques?

    • @GraphicDesignerPRO
      @GraphicDesignerPRO  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are many ways, but we'd recommend trying to create your own sketches, even if they're quite simple and rough. The idea is that we clean them up into something professional looking in Illustrator. You can also do what we've done in this video and simply find some images (try stock photo websites) that feature an element or some text you'd like to vectorise and go from there 👍
